  1. How could you guys have not have heard of McCallie's Michael Bingham? Last year at the D2 State Meet, he won the 110 Hurdles with a time of 14.45 and the 300 Hurdles with a time of 39.80. Not to mention, he also won the 100 Meter Dash, the Decathlon, and placed 2nd in the Long and Triple Jupms behind Adarius Bowman who has hence graduated. He is a senior now and is committed to Wake Forest. He will likely score over 60 points this year. Nothing against Shon and Lamar, but he would beat them badly in the hurdles and the jumps. He is, without a doubt, the best overall athlete in TN high school track and field.
  2. McMinn County High School 400 - 50.1 - Nathan Sloan - 1999 800 - 1:57.40 - Josh Hicks - 2003 (he also ran a 1:55 relay split) 1600 - 4:24 - Tray Hurst - 2003 3200 - 9:26 - Powell Grisham - 1989 4X400 Relay - 3:25.11 (M. Billingsley, M. Ray, T. Hurst, J. Hicks) - 2003 4X800 Relay - 7:54.80 (T. Hurst, M. Billingsley, M. Buckley, J. Hicks) - 2003
  3. A-AA 1. Sexton 2. Longstreth 3. Howater 4. Whitter 5. Jones AAA 1. Herringshaw 2. Williamson 3. Ivey 4. Hannah 5. Noel D-II 1. Bumbalough 2. Strang 3. Jones 4. Townsend 5. Hultquist Hey the running man, Diaz already graduated and I don't think you know what you are talking about. In AAA, how could you put Noel above the State CC Top 3 Williamson, Herringshaw, and Ivey? Herringshaw or Williamson will win the AAA 3200 no doubt. How could you put Townsend, Press, and Hultquist above Jones? He ran #1 for Webb and beat all three of those guys all year in CC. If you don't know what your talking about, why are you making a thread like this?
  4. Actually that Oakland guy you are reffering to was a junior last year and ran a 2:07 at state for 8th place. He is a senior this year and I don't think he will make state again.
  5. I agree that Bumbi will win the 3200 and 1600 easily with Strang as a distant second. However, the three guys who have a shot at beating him in the 800 are as you said Jeff Snyder from MBA, Nick Raff from McCallie, and the guy with the unbelievable raw leg speed from Baylor, Vikram Strivastiva. These guys will not have fresh legs themselves either. Snyder and Strivastiva may do the 4X8, and Raff may even do the 1600 too. Bumbi will still probably run a really fast 800 time this year, but not at state.
  6. I wouldn't underestimate McCallie. They finished a strong second last year with 98 points. According to the results, they only lost three seniors from last year , two of which scored a combined 3 points. The other was Taylor Smith who scored 5 points in the 3200, but this year they will have Nick Raff in the 800 (he should win unless Bumbi still has enough left after the 3200 and 1600) and Andrew Scarbrough in the 3200 as well. Plus, they have freakin MICHAEL BINGHAM back. Last year, he scored 56 points. He should score 60 or more this year cause he finished runner-up to some seniors last year. McCallie is definitely in the running for the Division II Track and Field State Championship.
  7. How did they have letdowns in Memphis? They finished 2nd behind MELROSE, who was the best team in the state last year by far (yes, even better than Brentwood Academy). Them getting 2nd was a suprise to me. It was the best the team had ever done in the school's history if I remember right. Who would have expected them to do so well? And by the way, the upper class members did finish strong last year. Kohlbush and Beeson, both seniors, scored or were on relay teams that scored 26 of the teams 55 points. It's gonna take some BIG TIME stepping up by this years seniors for them to even have a shot at upsetting Melrose, who only lost 8 points last year compared to 26.
  8. He was not overrated at the beginning of the cross country season. I am proud to say that had he not had his unfortunate and untimely injury, he would have won the state in AAA CC. He still beat all the runners in southeast TN at Optimist except 3 with that injury! Name someone else who could do that.
  9. Better watch out for Brandon Diaz from McMinn! He jumped a 19' 6.0" last year just messing around at home. He also flys in the 200 and we may have him do the 400 as well!
  10. Hey BHSfootball, do you know how many guys, besides Beeson who graduated, Bearden is loosing off of their state runner-up 4X8 team? Do you think they can bust 8:00 again? Also, they better have a lot of new strong guys this year if there gonna give Melrose a scare because they lost Tyler Kohlbusch who scored like half of their points last year. 4X4 and 4X8 will be weaker without Beeson too.
  11. Top 2 I should say in AAA at least. I have confidence in our team. I hope you do, too, Michael.
  12. Don't count out McMinn, Bearden, and maybe even Webb.
  13. I'm just agreeing with coach's comment that he made after region last year. "I don't want to ever lose the region again". And I know that even though you won't always be here, you'll still hope that coach has a successful year every year at least in the region, don't you?
  14. Hey Guesswho, What are you doing on this thread talking about Bumbi? Do you even know who he runs for, or his grade, or fastest time, or real name?
  15. McMinn people, once again I appreciate your support but please quit talking about so much about stuff you don't even know about. Peacemaker is just a mother of a Bradley runner who is sore at us because we always beat them and always will until the Coach Smith retires, and that is if I decide not to coach. We are going to try our best at state, but their is another team with 5 good runners better than us. Wait, did I say 5? I meant about 8! Houston High School in Memphis, TN is like the New York Yankees of TN Cross Country. Every year they are stacked with so many good runners and they have alot of depth as well. With the exception of 1999, they have placed in the top 2 at state every year since 1997. Unless they slip up and we all have the races of our careers, we will not beat them because they have a freakin awesome squad. Only Webb School of Knoxville, a Division II (private school) could probably take them down at their best. They beat Webb, who was ranked 3rd in the south region of the nation at that time, earlier this year at the most competitive meet in the state (TN Classic) but Webb's 3 man is out on an injury and didn't have a strong enough fifth, but too bad they can't race again cause now Webb would beat them. Houston is now ranked 5th in the south region.
