Unbelievable! Totally didn't see this one coming.

To each their own I guess. The lady would be making a point about one team and he would continue making the same point talking about the other team. You could tell it was a struggle for her to try and correct him and not be rude. Seemed to be knowledgeable of basketball for sure but his play by play definitely isn’t for me. I did hear them say this was his last tournament. Hope he enjoys retirement.
Got you! You mean the championship game. When you said play by play, I thought radio. Sorry.

Can they not get someone decent to help with the play by play. I don’t care if you have coached 30 years it don’t make you a good play by play. This guy in the single A game is horrible.
Dan Hughes is top notch!

It is. Mostly just picking @BIGPURPLEMACHINE I don’t see yall jumping that Huntingdon hurdle for many years to come. There are a bunch of young studs roaming the halls in Mustang country.
True statement about the talent forthcoming In Huntingdon.

Impressive for the Rebels!

So I am guessing PC has no one with her height/wing span? So if that is the case, she should dominate? But yet McKenzie had no one remotely close to her height or wingspan, and we held her to 16 total. 4 in the first half and 12 in the second. She is good. I 100% agree. But we did a great job on her. Again, when Reynolds went down, it was over. That is when she scored. 6 in the third and 6 in the fourth.
It's not Baugus you have to worry about. It's the other 4. Honestly, let her get hers. Stop the others around her.

Respectfully disagree. Wayne Co is the team to beat in A. I've watched a few of PC games this year and they have no one that can matchup w/Baugus. She's just too athletic and an offensive rebounding machine. And if WC shoots the ball from 3 like they're capable, it'll be a double digit W for WC.

Oops...
What oops? WC came out and played a totally different game last night. They were on another level last night McEwen could match. Woulda, shoulda, coulda, but when Reynolds with went down in our game, it was over at that point.
Good luck at state. Pickett/Cloudland are legit.

WC flexed! WOW!

Gonna tune in and watch McEwen vs WC tonight. It will be interesting how WC changes tonight to defend a McEwen team that has more weapons than we did. McEwen has three that can shoot the ball in Hankins, Dodd and Littleton. Hankins can also drive to the basket.
This could end up being a really good game.

I can't wait to see her and Jada Harrison out there next year together! Two of the best West TN has seen. Glad they stayed in state and close enough for hometown fans to go watch and support!!
Absolutely! I understand they are recruiting Baugus as well from WC. One of the coaches was there last night.

Mcewen won two out of three it don’t take a guru to see they have a good team.
I will agree. McEwen is a good team. They can hit you a couple of different ways. When Littleton starts popping threes, teams are in trouble. Hankins last night was held in check for most of the night I thought. The rest of the players stepped up. Best game I have seen Soule play this year. I believe they can beat Wayne County.

Congratulations to Savannah and Mikayla on an outstanding four years at Mckenzie! I’m sorry to hear Mikayla was hurt last night! Savannah goes down as one of the best high school girls players I have ever seen in West TN! Go ahead and retire her jersey in McKenzie!
Agree! She is the best to ever walk the halls of McKenzie High School. I told her last night I am ordering MTSU Blue Raider gear and getting ready to come watch her!

Wonder what happend to Reynolds?? Must have been pretty bad to make her leave the game. I figured Mckenzie would have the mental edge because of past meetings. But Wayne County found a way to win the game when they didn't play well. I figured it might be an ugly game with lots of Turnovers. Still have to hand it to Wayne County. They might have played it different had Reynolds not gotten hurt. Probably knew it was difficult for Mckenzie to score and they just started running clock.
Hey Pioneer. Initial indication is a knee on Mikayla. She will go for an MRI today. Davis was triple and quadrupled last night when Mikayla went down. We had no answer once they did that. We have known all year if one of them goes out it was going to be tough. But Savanna did what she could and put it on her shoulders; it just wasn’t enough.
Much respect to WC as Savanna made her final exit off the floor, they gave her a standing ovation.

I think this game will come down to whose supporting cast plays the best. I dont think either team is as talented as they were last year. If Wayne Countys supporting cast is knocking down shots they are tough to beat, and if they are not, they are very beatable. From what i have gathered, McKenzie is pretty much the same way this year.
This is what I have heard about Wayne County as well. It is true about McKenzie. The supporting cast will be the difference in this game.
One other outlier that I think may play into this game. It is my understanding Wayne County has NEVER played in Houston Co's gym. It is a different environment. McKenzie has played their several times.

One of the things I do as well is look at the teams roster, and see who they have played. If I know they have a radio team, and I know them, I will email them for it as well since they have already played them. Usually works.

I would think that guarding the 6'1 post would be really tough for Mckenzie. I would also say the mental edge would go to Mckenzie because they have beaten them twice in the State Finals. I would say the longer Mckenzie hangs around in this one the better chance they have if they indeed play. No disrespect to the first round opponents.
Agree. It is going to be a tall order!

If you follow McKenzie this year this is not at all shocking. They had already lost to McEwen once. They could lose the first round of the region or they could win it all and I would not be surprised either way. Davis has been face guarded and doubled all year and has still averaged in the mid 20's. If you get them in a game where the others start knocking down wide open shots then they can get dangerous very quickly- they have beat some very good teams this year when that happens. You just don't know what you are going to get one game from the next. I think McKenzie on their best night is the only team that has a shot @ beating Wayne Co in this Region tournament.
Spot on! Great analysis! I may quote some of this Friday night on the radio.

I think Davis and Reynold have to be on their game to compete with good teams. If they are both hot they can beat anyone. If one is off then anything could happen. McEwen is a pretty good team but I bet one of those girls had an off night.
Davis had 21 and Reynolds had 15. They double teamed Savanna and put one on Mikayla. Molly French nailed some threes but that was about it. Our other two didn’t chip in any points. McEwen lead 15 to 2 after one, but then we held them to two in the second at 14 to 2. McEwen had a good game plan.

If/when Milton transfer’s to mckenzie , that obviously changes things . Those other two you speak of could very easily be placed at WR however .
No doubt! Both have good speed but one of them can flat out go! If he gets a step on you, hard to catch.

Yea i’m sure it’s something that has been discussed at the least . I asked some Mckenzie folks around the program and they confirmed it … so who the heck knows . There’s even a promising young player at Mckenzie looking to transfer because of it as he feels he should be a starter . If Milton transfers, he would be a better fit at Huntingdon IMO
If you are talking about running back at McKenzie, it could possibly only be two players. Of these two, both should get plenty of carries next year if they want to put in the work in the off season. I will nose around this situation.

If allowed, and kids buy in, he will be great! I hope those kids don't have a lot of summer plans. LOL.
I am also hearing bringing most all of his assistant coaches.
