  1. WOW AAASoccer you seem to be very knowledgeable about soccer. Have you seen Warren Co. play this year? I suppose the question is how did Cookeville beat them 8-0? On a different note the buzz in Athens over this game is quite interesting. HUGE crowd expected
  2. I suppose the defense for MCHS better be prepared for those two. From what I saw the other night MCHS has a good keeper....she better be on her toes.
  3. Security is not a concern.....the McMinn County Sheriff dept. has 2 deputies that are former special forces guys that work all of the high school athletic events. I am more interested with the soccer team and not their parents.
  4. I don't typically get interested in soccer especially girls soccer but we went to the Cleveland game the other night and had a blast. So we have decided to get on the fan wagon and support the lady Cherokees tomorrow night when they play Warren County. Does anybody know anything about Warren County girls soccer team? Are they a traditional power house in Tennessee girls soccer? Who are their good players? Will they bring a lot of fans?
  5. Nothing sweeter then beating Bradley on their Homecoming!! GO TRIBE
  6. Good luck Riverdale! McMinn played its worse game in two years.....we could not find the ball on defense and never got into our flow on offense. Our program is improving and that is something to look forward to for next year. GO TRIBE!!!
  7. The last time McMinn played Riverdale in Athens then Alabama signee #5 Eric Locke broke us down like a shotgun. We could not lay a hand on him much less try to tackle him. Hopefully the roles are reverse this time and Riverdale has a difficult time catching our dynamic duo in the McMinn backfield. GO TRIBE!!!
  8. Riverdale Fans: Exit 49 on I-75 Athens / Decatur is the main Athens exit and it has Applebees, Ruby Tuesday, Crackel Barrel and several fast food joints. Across from the high school is a local restaurant called Gondolier (Itilian / American). Safe travel....
  9. Another great night for high school football.....60 at KO with clear skies! Kick Off at 7:00 EASTERN TIME!!!! Riverdale fans you might want to leave a few minutes early to allow for the usual Friday heavy traffic in Chattanooga !!! GO TRIBE!!!
  10. I think it will be another dose of Sanders and Wells plus a dash of Powers running the option. The word on Riverdale is that line up toe to toe and run the option and a form of the Wing T and throw it enough so that you have to honor the pass.
  11. That sounds like our Farragut game. We dominated the game and have it inside the 10 twice and come away with ZERO points or McMinn would be 11-0. But if and and buts were candy and nuts we would all have a merry Christmas. My opinion the team that will give McMinn the biggest problem is one that is well balanced and does a good job of play action pass. Our secondary has shown it is vulnerable to the pass. I still like our chances againist whomever we play because of our twin back set that can flat out get the job done.....they keep coming at you and then they pop that big one! And both of our lines have been the backbone of this team......
  12. Here it is by the numbers through 10 games: McMinn Averages 32 ppg on offense Averages 15 ppg on defense Riverdale Averages 39 ppg on offense Averages 14 ppg on defense There are no common opponents but Blackman beat Riverdale 20-16 in week #8 and Bradley who McMinn beat twice played Blackman and Bradley beat Blackman 23-21 in week #5. McMinn 26 Riverdale 21 GO TRIBE!!!
  13. Great night for high school football.....55 at kick off with clear skies
  14. Reminder: Game time is at 7:00 not 7:30
  15. Here it is by the numbers: McMinn 9-1 Offense averages 32 ppg Defense averages 15 ppg Bradley 6-4 Offense averages 24 ppg Defense averages 22 ppg Common Opponent: McMinn Offense averaged 33 ppg Defense averaged 13 ppg Bradley Offense averaged 28 ppg Defense averaged 18 ppg I will say Bradley has played a tougher schedule with 6 of the teams on their schedule advancing into the playoffs compared to 4 for McMinn. Braldey played 6 teams with a winning record compared to 3 for McMinn. Of course McMinn did play 3 schools that were at 5-5. When it comes to the common opponents inside the district McMinn has outscored the opponent by 20 compared to Bradley by 10. I say Bradley loads the box with 8-9 players and dares McMinn to throw it on the other hand Bradley will continue to spread the field and rely on the arm of Copeland. With everything being equal McMinn should be a 14 point favorite but this is McMinn and Bradley so i brought it down a few to make McMinn a 8 point favorite. It should be another good matchup between two old rivals! GO TRIBE!!!
  16. How many more Copelands are there left at Bradley? They have the same issue as McMinn has had with Arnwines and Simpsons, seems like there has been one playing at either school for 50 years. There has been some criticism in Athens towards the TSSAA because McMinn is playing Bradley again but in my opinion I like the idea. Sure it is a big rival and sure we just played last week. But there shouldnt be an excuse for either team not being ready to play because its the playoffs and your playing againist your oldest rival. I believe its a good way to get the post season started and a good way to keep the players focused on the task of winning and advancing. Sometimes when you are playing someone you have no history with there are many question marks and for sure no history. Again I like the idea of playing Bradley especially when we send them back down I-75 with a loss that they will have to sleep on for 12 months! GO TRIBE!!!
  17. Another steady dose of Wells and Sanders has been ordered for Bradley. If McMinn can defend the pass a bit better then the chances for a win dramatically increase if not then it becomes somewhat closer of a contest. I will say that #10 Copeland is a gutsy player and single handley provided McMinn with much more heartburn then they should have had. My question is since McMinns DE (Kimpson) and Copeland became so close last Friday night will they continue to foster their relationship this week? McMinn 26 Bradley 17 GO TRIBE!!!
  18. No more disqualified players! The bears will get a steady dose Friday night of #24 and #2....inside and outside it doesnt matter. As long as McMinn doesnt beat themselves they should win this one. McMinn 26 Bradley 10 GO TRIBE!!!
  19. McMinn should win this one but playing at Soddy is a story in its self. One year we played down there in a foot of mud and later determined human waste. Another year the officiating was so bad even the SD coach apologized to coach Mullinax. So what will the obstacle be this year? McMinn 32 Soddy Daisy 14 GO TRIBE!!!
  20. Interesting for 20 years McMinn could not beat Cleveland then over the past 10 years the series is about even. Now McMinn is actually the favorite in Vegas by 4. If McMinn can get pressure on the QB and defend the pass we will be in a good position to get a win at a place that is difficult to win at. Believe me SPECIAL TEAMS play will make a huge difference in this one!!!!!! McMinn 26 Cleveland 24 GO TRIBE!!
  21. Mother nature could impact the score but I still believe the TRIBE will conquer the Valley. GO TRIBE!!
  22. McMinn 35 Walker Valley 7 Wells rushes for over 200 yds.....scores 3 TD's.....2 rushing and one recieving. You cant stop him you can only hope to contain him! GO TRIBE!!!
  23. McMinn comes off of a frustrating loss to Farragut where they had it inside the 10 on two occasions and came away with NO points. Ooltewah is coming of a loss to a good Segal team. From what I have seen and read I believe McMinn to be the better of the two teams but Ooltewah is always a tough place to come away with a "W". McMinn 28 Ooltewah 17
  24. Thoughts about this weeks big Region game?
