  1. what was said between the coaches of the 215 match?
  2. Union County, you are right up there with Greenback, how many did you send? 2? wow watch out. You can't even fill a roster.
  3. greenback had a good season only because of the fact that they are the only full team besides karns in their district. what does having a good region dual record get a team? individual success is much more honorable and valuable, especially to the kids. who cares how big their school is, with the number of kids they have, and all the talk they have done, then they should have sent more. many of those teams you mentioned that sent 5 or so having big schools means nothing. most of those have 9 or less on their team. just don't put up posts that you cannot back up.
  4. The almighty greenback or g-nation that has bragged on here all season about their team, and how the are one of the best in region 2, only sent 3 wrestlers to the state tournament saturday. they had four or five top five seeds get put out. they had no region champions and two got fourth. they were beat in team points by small teams like gibbs, halls, farragut, etc. these teams sent 5 or more. If i were part of the g-nation, i would not post anything else the rest of the season.
  5. seveir county stinks. they wrestle nobody out of their region, no tournaments or nothing. OOOoh county championship, there are only 3 teams in sevier county. Pigeon Forge who has never had a state qualifier, and seymour.
  6. 103 - Puckett (Gibbs) 112 - Webb (Seymour) 119 - Campbell (Union County) 125 - Breeden (South-Doyle) 130 - Cate (Halls) 135 - Tisdale (Karns) 140 - Dix (Farragut) 145 - Hall (Maryville) 152 - Turner (Farragut) 160 - Blankenship (Farragut) 171 - Knox (Farragut) 189 - Dunn (William Blount) 215 - Hazlett (Union County) 275 - Johnson (Seymour)
  7. Trophyhunter, for the record, you are always trying to find an easy way out. The fact is you do not have the best team in the district or the second best team. You made it this far all due to forfeits. I know you will respond with your little stats on who beat who, but the reality is you will be lucky to send one kid to state. That is real. You have not gone to any tough tournaments. And you have nobody ranked in the state. You teach your kids to throw headlocks, while all the rest of these coaches prepare their kids to wrestle in college. You don't wrestle tough teams, and you brag on here about gnation is the best. If your team went to state duals, you would not win a match. That is the all honest reality.
  8. I was there too, and I saw Henderson put Campbell in a headlock. Headlocks=luck. Okl State two time national champion 133 pounder got thrown in a headlock and pinned in first wrestle offs of the season by a freshman, does that mean that kid is better? Sorry, but I will put my money on Campbell.

    215s

at the soddy tournament saturday, we saw some great 215 action. i was impressed with drew henderson and ben hazlett. they wrestled in quarterfinals, henderson won 3-2, and hazlett had a double in the air taking it to the mat when the 3rd ended. Hazlett fought back to beat Stanley Brooks 4-1. They decided to not wait the entire 45, so hazlett wrestled henderson again 15 min later. the final was 4-3, and since it was consolations the first was one minute. looked like hazlett would have had henderson on his back but again the period ended right when he finished it. hazlett made a mistake and got caught with locked hands which lost the match for him, but it was a great match both times. these guys could make a run at the finals and it will be exciting. a couple other exciting matches were cody cleveland getting pinned in semis, lane's final match, and kyle james looked dominate as always. great tournament. one of the toughest of the year.
  13. not to put down greenback's victory, but they did get forfeits at 103, 112, 119, and another weight class. they did get outwrestled. I was at the match, and this is the only thing that is disturbing. i saw their coaches tell there kids to run. run away from their opponent. do what you have to do to not get pinned. get tech falled but not pinned. this is not how we should do things. a coach should make their wrestler feel invincible, that they could beat anybody in the state. even if you know they can't.. what will happen is that this team will send very few to state tournament, because they know how to barely get by. congrats on your win greenback, but unfortunately your ride ends at region.
