  1. holy smoke, Batman what a issue, one word will describe it! GREAT!!! Great Job Krich many pictures of almost every team I have ever heard of, Hey Kim I went back to the store and bought a second copy. Great Job Ol Pal
  2. listen to the East-Eliz game and Eliz should have won. The conference best def. back was on the sideline until the final minutes of the game. When he came in he not only sacked Eads but put pressure on him Eads final four or five plays. If he could have played the entire game Eliz would have won by 30.... Heard his dad on the radio Friday night and thought it was a great time to listen to football. Sound like a lot of spirit in the broadcast and lots of players given credit. Peters and Holtsclaw made a great team to listen too. WBEJ should look into this.... might live'en up the place... I'll pick Eliz to win by at least 20, without eads by 40. Congrads on beating Cherokee!
  3. Tyler is an O.K. player but by far the best on Unaka's team, needless to say the conference.. You just got to be in the right place at the right time and last year McCann was. Too bad Cline didn't make the All-State team. He was the key to the offense and defense. But score is what the officials look at.. McCann played hard at times, Cline played hard all the time. Point guards, like Cline and Cody don't score many points, but the assists they had and the passes they made contributed greatly in Unaka's State Championship. Just saw the CD on Unaka's games, pictures of the game and its great. Lots of pictures of the players, fans, cheerleaders including everything, Keep up the great work Krich.
  4. got to see Elizabethton play for the first time this year an entire game.. Not a good game for the QB, but for most of the team looked pretty good. All I have heard was about the coaching of the Cyclones. Well they put another QB in late in the game and marched down the field and scored a TD, with solid blocking. Last year the Cyclones did the same thing in the Greenville game just before the half, new QB, marched down the field, scored, then came back in the second half with the starting QB and nothing went right. Same thing Thru. night, next series came back with starting QB, same results, nothing happen. The playoff game could belong to the coaches. Players can only play when the coach sends them on the field. He almost waited to late against Unicoi, to win in Rogersville, they can't wait to late in the game to make changes. Good Luck
  5. wish Unaka and Cloudland could play again.. lots of people from both areas doing plenty of talking and fun to read the post. Coacht website been boring the last two weeks
  6. Alcoa 71 Hampton 7 maybe 0
  7. one person is all anyone had to deal with last year ....and thats all you volunteer people got on hear and talked about Chucky this... and Chucky that...., heck I thought he was a new Bernard King or something. So with him gone, what do you have???? you will lose to Central twice, HV twice, Hampton once, Elizabethton once and maybe twice, they have your number at your place.. And probably will lose in Erwin... they don't like Volunteer or Coach Witee. So how do you finish in the top four with all those losses?????
  8. You Lander people only like Chambers because he gave you a win last year.. As Cline stated he only average 6 points in the Boro' Unaka will win the conference for the 150th straight time. I think they won the first championship when they started that Egg Fight thing. Greatest experience ever is winning a basketball state championship and anyone that was there can testify to this. Only way Cloudland will get in the State Tournament is to buy a ticket... Temple will be tough this year they have had those same kids now for about eight years... bout like Midway when they had Krich for eight +years. Right ol' Buddy. And Landers ask ol Krich what he did to your team when he played at Unaka. When they had real football, where they wore hats instead of Helmets, and used their real shoulders without padding them... Just ask Krich! GO RANGERS
  9. Volunteer will not finish in the top four spots,, Should be Central or HV, toss up....Unicoi will not be in the top 4 either, The will be in the bottom 4 also Volunteer lost their Chucky and it was a big loss, losing the coach should be a help, he hurt the team with all his T's.
  10. Good Deal Dogman!! Glad to see I'm not the only one that supports the Double Play Sports. I still buy one every week and agree it put so much pressure on the Star, they added and entire staff to cover all the games in the leagues...Most of the star writers, if you look back in older issues, was writing sports for the DP before going to the Star. Wes Holtsclaw, Tim Chambers, Ivan Sanders, Kim Richardson etc. all wrote great articles for the DPS. And I agree with Dogman, get a Double Play Sports started and the PRESS and TIMES will cover more local sports.
  11. put the Creeker at QB and Betsy wins on both offense and defense.. Elizabethton 21 Boone 7 Leave the leagues leading pass intercepter in the game and Boone wins by guess what??? ONE ( Like all the rest) Boone 15 Elizabethton 14
  12. creekercalhoun I feel sorry for you to rag a paper that gives so much support to the kids of Carter County.... If you remember the Star never covered any middle school or youth league sports until the Double Play was established. If you recall in the 60 and 70's it was all Elizabethton, the county high schools didn't even get much coverage... I think the Double Play is doing a great job in covering all the schools and Unaka gets as much coverage as any other school if not more... Keep up the GREAT work DP... PS great homcoming pictures of queens this week, don't see any of the Queens in the other local paper...Ah!
  13. if all of the Cyclone coaches are such GOOD MEN, why don't they join the ARMY: I hear they are looking for a few GOOD MEN.... Game must have suk. Maybe the the CYCLONES shou blow up the Creek,, where three coaches have won six games.... he he
  14. looks like the Offensive coordinator is the one who needs to wake up! Although Pless is taking the heat, might be McKinney that needs to be looked at. I watched McKinney play in the early 70's and he was a good athlete but somtimes good athletes don't make good coaches.... I saw his baseball record last year and his team won 20 games,,, but finished last in the conference,,,Too much talent in town to finish on the bottom in any sport. I also heard Peters and Jeffers both were injured in the Greenville game... Anyone else hear this??? Don;t get me wrong my blood runs true maroon, but I pull for all of the county teams, unless they are playing the Rangers...
  15. I not to smart and been sick lately and the only thing I have to go on is Preacher Tims report in the Elizabethton Liar I mean Star. The article I read was D. Nave with 16 tackles, C. Peters with 10 and J. Berkley with 7. Now about the defensive line...Which one of the leading tacklers plays on the line??? 360 yards rushing seems like the line is giving up 5-7 yards a play, Does not Nave, Peters and Berkley play behind the lines??? And they are making all of the tackles??? As for East they have never beat a Carter County team in Elizabehton and it want start now. Go Rangers
