  1. I was really impressed with the St. Agnes keeper last night. She made some great saves and could punt and goal-kick further than any keeper I've seen.
  2. Murphy was able to get around the defenders and get off some dangerous shots and great passes and at times made the defenders look as if they were standing still. She was definitely targeted and was taken down with some cheap shots at times. The ref called most of them but at times Baylor could have used a "no-call" and taken advantage of having the advantage.
  3. Pope John Paul 4 - Notre Dame 2. Good game.
  4. Again, Weekley was able to use his depth and rest some of his starters. Murphy didn't play the last 30 mins. and Felts only played half the second half. It was a good game and Hutchison played well. I think they just ran out of steam.
  5. No, the Baylor starters will all be playing, except for any injuries/illnesses. You are right - they do want to win for Weekley. He always brings the most out of his players. I'm not sure that he would intentionally lose a game, but I've seen Baylor play GPS during the season the previous two years and he will only post one forward with no help. When it came to State he played completely differently and we looked like a different team. I also remember him saying that losing to GPS in the Region final last year (or the year before) was the best thing that had happened to the girls all year. So some of it is just psychological.
  6. I think that the main thing that will help Baylor is that you never really know what they have got until they go to State. It's hard to compare how other teams played against them during the season because as soon as they are 2, maybe 3 goals up, the coach pulls most of his starters. Not only does this not run up the score, but it gives them more depth since a lot of non-starters get good playing time. Also, I don't think the coach wants to really show what he has until State.
  7. That's fine. I'm sure that people who are not close to the situation will assume the worst. Rumor has it that there could be some lawsuits, especially since they mentioned Ashley in the paper.
  8. Going back to Paige and Ashley, a lot of people have been comparing them and think Paige is a younger version of Ashley. She's beautiful, hard-working, competetive, skilled and a great player. No-one is harder on these two players than themselves and that's what makes them so good - their desire to win.
  9. In all fairness, Ashley didn't break any team rules and is very committed to her team. Baylor judged them without finding out any details. I think the reason they punished them all is because if they had let Ashley or any others that were not guilty off, they would say they were getting preferential treatment. Even if they come back and admit they were wrong later, it'll be too late, the season will be over and they have already missed their Region final. Ashley's very strong and competitive and she won't let this affect her or the team for state. They are a great group of girls - on and off the field.
  10. I was at the game against Ooltewah and if I remember correctly, Baylor was also without 2 or 3 starters due to injury. Lets face it, at any given time during a season, there's always going to be at least one starter out. Baylor just seems to have so much depth right now.
  11. Where is the Baylor/ND game? I think it is at 4.30, not 5.00pm.
  12. Not to take away anything from the individual players on the Ooltewah team, but when they played Baylor, it was 8 - 0 and Weekly pulled out his main scorers for almost half the game. It could have easily been 12 - 0 but Weekly wouldn't do that. There just weren't any individuals that stood out on the Ooltewah team when they played a good team.
