  1. J.B. Murphy (Baylor), Blake Pelton, Casey Johnston, Drew Hollenbeck (Notre Dame) and Mikey Leahy (Soddy) are all going to ETSU. Etsu will have two paid coaches this year and then will begin division 1 the following year. It should be a great transition for the boys.
  2. Baylor knew that they were playing against a much stronger team that had a lot of depth. Even after they finished the game they were commenting on what a fantastic team they had just played against. The players and parents admitted that they knew they were on their last legs and that they were just trying to hang on. It just goes to show you what a team can do when they have good leadership from their seniors, good rapport, and play as a team. This team had as much heart as I have seen in any other team over all the years. Their coach is great about taking one game at a time. Even if they had been favorites to win, Jimmy would have approached each game the same and won't let them look to the next game. He really keeps them focused and humble. In fact, we had several Chattanooga teams this year that played with mainly heart and hard work. Several of the teams overachieved. We are proud of all our Chattanoga teams this year. Good luck to CBHS's players. They certainly have a lot of talent and have nothing to be ashamed of.
  3. It is the Home team that gets to choose. The Notre Dame team's seniors did not get to go to Baccalaureat(can't spell it) because they had to play it at SC at 4.00pm. If ND had won against CCS they would have picked the game time. As far as not being able to play at a certain time, the players usually do not schedule anything new on state soocer days because they have no idea what time the game will be........
  4. Some of the Notre Dame players said that the SC players were classy. This doesn't always happen when team is losing.
  5. I certainly wouldn't say they were dominated - it was a good game both ways. Shame the ref made that call right before the score. Shouldn't have even been a kick. I'm wondering if you are one of the fans there - many were not very classy or were you one of the players. Shame you have to act like that coz the Webb team is good
  6. McCallie played their starters. It was a good game and could have gone either way. Both goalies had to make some saves. Of course Notre Dame were very disappointed when the penalty kick was called - it seemed that both players were going up for the ball and both went down.
  7. Great game! Was you at the right game?
  8. Who has the most talented forwards in the State?
  9. Their keeper is young - Thomas Murphy -a sophomore. He made some very good saves his first two scrimmages and played some games as a freshman last year and played well.
  10. Both teams played well. There were chances for both sides. Both keepers had to make saves. Notre Dame keeper saved a good one right before the buzzer to save the game.
  11. Sounds like a parent with a chip on his shoulder to me! So how many students at public schools get punished for attending a party outside of school, even if they weren't drinking?
  12. Baylor's midfield did play awesome in the finals. The Baylor team didn't look as impressive as they usually do (but nor did the opposing team). Apparently Weekley changed things around some and man-marked a lot of players and left Good up front. It obviously worked and that's what counts. You just didn't see the normal offensive rus.
  13. It would be a great game, but in all fairness to the Baylor's defenders, this same team did manage to shut down those same fast forwards last year.
  14. Of course it would always depend on the day. However, Baylor did play Franklin last year and beat them by two on Franklin's field. Franklin lost several key players since they were seniors and Baylor didn't lose any. Baylor would have really liked to have played them again this year, but for some reason Franklin backed out. Baylor could have really used another high quality game. Both teams were very good and it would have been a great game.

    MVPs

We were told after the game that since the games were spread over three different venues, that they could not pick all-tournament teams. We thought that was very disappointing, especially since there might have been some girls picked that hadn't been before. It shouldn't have been too hard to organize, even if they just judged it on thew last two games instead of all three. It was strange. They didn't even announce that they weren't going to do it - everyone just stood there waiting.
  16. Way to go Baylor! A well fought tournament PJP - you should both be proud of yourselves!
  17. Way to go Baylor!!!! Three times in a row. We'll miss our great seniors, but what a great group of underclassmen we have to carry on a strong tradition. Congratulations on another strong season. Way to go Jimmy!
  18. We'll get to see some great soccer today with some of the girls mentioned in this forum getting to show their talent.
  19. I know the Baylor/ Pope John Paul is at 4.30 and the Franklin final is at 7.00. I would assume the other final is earlier. Finley Stadium, $6 admission.
  20. I still think that St. Agnes keeper was impressive. You can't always judge by how many goals they let in because on the night I saw her play she let three in but she made some awsome saves and definitely punted further than any keeper I have seen in select or ODP or Regionals.
  21. Some of you must never go to bed! By that I mean you are posting in the middle of the night.
  22. Saturday, and I'd say it is probably $6
  23. Blu, was you at the Baylor game and what did you think?
