From an unbiased perspective I must say this; Dickson County is the most physical teaqm in the mid-state by far. I cannot evaluate teams from the east and the west because I have not seen them firsthand. Let's venture back one season to the second round of last years playoffs. Brentwood won a hard fought game 14-7 in route to the state championship.Much credit is given there:however, this years DCHS team is far and away better than last years team. They merely line up and hit you in the mouth. Their whole strategy is to pound you play after play. Brentwood can play physical football, but not to the caliber of Dickson. They remind myself and my traveling counterpart of the mid-nineties Nebraska teams that used to punish opposing defenses. In the Riverdale game, though the Warrior faithful are too proud to admit it, the Cougars manhandled them. Coach Rankin even tried to pack ten men into the box and were still unsuccessful stopping the run. Dickson is a team that is averaging 371 yards rushing a game and have shown no signs of slowing down. Keep in mind that Dickson has only punted five times the entire season. That is a remarkable stat. As for Franklin, they are extremely athletic as well; however, Once again from an unbiased perspective, Brentwood has a better team than Franklin. Franklin was very lucky to have won that ballgame. As odd as this sounds Brentwood's coaching staff lost that game by indecisive playcalling. In a nutshell, if Dickson beats Brentwood, which I think they will, they will run through the Franklin defense with less of a problem and win the region. Also a factor, the weather is calling for a drastic change in temps next week. The preliminary forecast is calling for temperatures to be in the upper twenties on Halloween night. Sorry Franklin but it's hard to throw in that type of weather. In contrast, that type of weather is ideal for Nebraska, I mean Dickson. Sorry for the lengthly script.
