Do you really think, that I think Maryville isn't a great football team? They've won 35 straight, I don't care what classification your in, that's incredible. There are some great ones. Lincoln Co. and Oak Ridge are special because there one horse towns. BA has got a winning tradition, but you don't grow up in that community wanting to play for BA, your recruited from outside areas. Maryville has got it going and they should for a while, with their recent success they'll win the recruiting battle in Blount County for the next few years. Heck when you win 35 straight you don't have to recruit, kids will move in. Riverdale has a wonderful tradition, Gary Rankin is a great coach, and a winner. Scott Smith is really starting something great at Ezell Harding, but he'll get a better job probably at the end of this year, I know for a fact he's looking.

Bud, What ever happened with James "Mud Turtle Mayes" from Greeneville. We ended his senior year in 91' on our run to the title, he got thrown out in the second quarter and I haven't heard his name since.

Completely agree, but I'm biased, played with him on two undefeated teams at Robertsville and then all through high school. Was a great shortstop to, switch hitter with power from both sides of the plate.

I know in the past DB has always had a fantastic track program, is that still in place or is it like Oak Ridge and the kids don't run anymore?
