  1. One thing we can all be sure of. The choice Athletic Director Benson forwards to Principal Hassler will be a good one. He is as respected as any Athletic Director in Middlle Tennessee. He is definitely an up and comer. I just hope we don't lose him!
  2. Thanks. I didn't read the original post closely enough. I took 'the west end of the county' to be the 'west end of the state'. Now it makes better sense. Can you shed some light on the 'legend from Mississippi'?
  3. I was there but had no dog in the fight. I saw both the goaltend and the push on Cutter. I also, however, saw several other calls that went against Whites Creek. The goaltend and the Cutter push just happened to be more visible. I thought the officiating was solid both ways. Sure, calls were missed....both ways. I hate to see anyone get on here and say they were screwed by the refs. I didn't see it that way. I thought WC was just too quick. I think that Siegel would have trouble with WC no matter how many times they played. It was just two oustanding teams battling. That being said, I have 2 questions: 1) After WC's Gershom Jordan (#50) seemed to have his way in the first half, he sat and played little the 2nd half. Can anybody tell my why? 2) I have seen Jimmy Oden play many times over the last 4 years (including his freshman year at Oakland). I have never seen him so seemingly overmatched and frustrated. I noticed Coach Harris sat him several times during the game leading me to believe he may have been sick or injured or something. Can anyone tell me if this was the case or was it just one of those games where his game failed to show up?
  4. I guess some people like to feel like they're "insiders". They like to know something others don't. It is ridiculous to speculate on coaches that admittedly won't come. Why don't we all just say, "There is a coach in Knoxville with the initials P.S. that you can't have. I can't tell you her name but she is a #2 seed in the NCAA Women's Basketball tournament. Sorry I can't be more specific."
  5. Is there a reason his name is being kept secret? Are his initials S.T. by any chance?
  6. What I mean to say is that I believe that Hutto will get it if he wants it. I also have to believe that Brown would be an excellent fit because he is a proven coach and a good classroom teacher (always a bonus). I think the administration likes him and would like to keep him and this would be a way of assuring that. Of course there are several good candidates for the job. I am just naming 2 proven coaches that are respected in the community (another nice bonus). I am not in anyway interested in a mystery man from Mississippi.
  7. I think we can all agree that 'coaching on the college level' does not make you a good coach either. AND, I think we can all can also agree that being a 'Kentucky Boy' does make you a good coach. There is a whole little bit more to coaching than birthplace.
  8. The only thing I hear from Rickman is from Rickman. Got to be Hutto or Brown.
  9. No, he was not 'winless' his last year at Macon Co. He did, however, struggle. BUT, as you said, the district was loaded (MLK, David Lipscomb, FRA, etc.). He was successful before his last year. I belisve Darian is a tremendous coach of fundamentals, just what the girls game needs. He has great rapport with the kids (also needed) and is an excellent communicator. He is well repected as both a coach and educator at Lebanon. He would be a popular choice in the community.
  10. I was thinking he played at Castle Heights but I believe you're right. He coached at Castle Heights but did indeed play at Lebanon. The original 'Larry the Legend'.
  11. Congratulations to Bud and his first state championship. With a young team, I possibly see a couple more out there for him. A great job of coaching a great group of girls. Way to go Southside (feeder school out of Lebanon). The Lady Saints jr. high team was represented well on the Lady Wildcats team with 2 starters (Cameryn Calhoun and Jenny Hall) and several other key contributors (including Lauren Farmer and Elizabeth Martin.)
  12. I am assuming you have your tongue placed firmly in cheek. Benny, Larry and Ed all played elsewhere. They coached at Lebanon, as does Darian. Your 'Blueblood' comment doesn't fit here. Get the best man available. Again, my vote is for Darian Brown
  13. Well? Let's hear it. Who have you heard? My choice is Darian Brown, an assistant with the boys program. He wants to remain in Lebanon, yet he desires to be a head coach. The Lebanon girls job would fulfull both needs and he would be an excellent coach. He is a 'fundamentals' man. Just what the girls need.
  14. Can't argue with that. One of the top four teams as a matter of fact. I guess we'll see where in the top four soon enough.
  15. Cameryn is the brother of Jordan, post for the Wilson Central boys. Both are great kids and products of Southside School in Lebanon.
