BigDave....you tell big lies. You said you had retired!!!! I told you I didn't believe it! I was right! I'm RICH!!!!
  2. I believe that is taps I hear playing in the background! /sad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" />
  3. RedWall...It's nice to see some people get on here to eat some crow. Thanks for that..it really shows some class! Now I'm still waiting for BUCYOU or whatever his name is to get on here and quit whining about referee's and talk about how Wartburg's pressure defense wore #21 down. Congrats to the DOGS!!!!!!
  4. "Joe Layne not a good game coach".......that's crazy.
  5. WOW!!!!! Sounds like a CRAZY game!!!!!
  6. come on now...don't leave us hanging!!!!!
  7. King, That's a little ridiculous. Tell me one team in Scott County (other than Burchfield) that Wartburg has dominated to the point that boys or girls in Area II aren't competitive. Let's see.....Wartburg boys haven't beaten Oneida in many years, WCMS girls only beat Oneida this year, Fairview boys dominated WCMS until this year, Fairview girls split with WCMS girls. I don't think that WCMS has played Huntsville, Robbins boys have beaten WCMS 2 of 3 times dating back to last year. I don't think WCMS has played any other school up there. In Morgan County, WCMS boys won the county for the first time in like 3 or 4 years, and the girls finished 4th. Hardly uncompetitive!!!!
  8. As far as the boys side of things...I see Oneida and Huntsville being very high on the list. Probably a 1-2 punch in the area. It's hard to pick against them until somebody beats them. They just beat each other, and until someone knocks them off, it's hard to pick agains tthem. In Morgan County I see Wartburg and Coalfield being very good next year. Coalfield brings back all 5 starters, including the Hicks kid that can play. I think it's a toss up between those two teams. Girls: I think Oneida will be very successful....however Wartburg is coming in with a new set of girls, and a new attitude. Look for Coach Davis to have those girls playing tremendous basketball by the end of the year. Sure they will have some growing pains, but just be patient! Wartburg will be small, but extremely fast! Speed can sometimes be a great equalizer! Oakdale also brings back several players from a team that wasn't very successful this year, but look out...they will be pretty darn good!
  9. Oneida will win this tournament hands down. Wartburg boys had a bad night. The point guard broke his nose in the first half, one of their leading scorers only scored 5, two of their guards got into foul trouble in the third quarter! Now....give Robbins some credit..the Brumley kid scored a boat load of points, and their guards gave Wartburg's trouble. I don't know if Wartburg would have beaten Oneida. Wartburg gave Oneida their best game, 8 points I think. Good luck to Coach Jeffers in the rest of the tournament!
  10. From what I heard...he was griping all night at the refs and finally got stuck with one...then he told them they could do it all they wanted to. He picked up his second with 1:50 left. He then just took his kids off the floor. He was getting beat pretty bad, like 20 pts or so. That game overall wasn't one sided, the calls were both ways. Burchfield came out hot early then Oakdale took over! Then Coach Jeffers exploded!!!!!!!
  11. What is the closest game that Oneida has played? They are a very good basketball team! Most teams that are that big aren't very fast...well they have both!
  12. I don't think Oakdale can compete with Huntsville or Oneida....however they are a good team with a good coach. I feel bad for the kid from Jellico! Good luck to him!
  13. I believe that Oakdale proved they are not the third worst team in this tournament........somebody tell me what happened with Burchfield's coach. He picked up two quick technicals and pulled his team from the floor! What exactly happened? Will he have to sit out two games next year?
  14. Boys basketball seems to be a little tougher in Scott County this year. Girls on the other hand are a little tougher in Morgan County. This tournament is wide open on both sides. However, until somebody beats Oneida boys, they are the clear favorite!
  15. Friday: 4:30 Coalfield/Winfield Girls 5:45 Wartburg/Coalfield Boys 7:00 Girls 8/9 8:15 Sunbright/Fairview Boys
