  1. Ive seen Kinman against Northeast and in AAU and believe me he isnt Tyler Smith... Not saying he isnt going to improve... But we arent comparing apples to apples here, it is more like apples to prunes...
  2. Didnt mean to strike a nerve... Look I have no dogs in the fight as to who wins the game, just pointing out the fact that McEwen didnt help themselves by not playing better competition when they had a chance. I guarantee you that there were a lot of quality tournaments that would have wanted this McEwen team playing in it this year.... If you think Santa Fe and Lewis County is better competition than the teams in the Overton Tournament, you evidentally dont get out of McEwen Enough... Look McEwen has a VERY GOOD TEAM.... I clearly stated in my personal opinion that they hadnt taken the steps to be a GREAT TEAM.... and they havent.... But who cares we will just have to wait and see which eight teams from across the state end up in Murfreesboro....
  3. Without Jamison Hendersonville wins... But White House still has the capabilities to make it ineresting...
  4. No offense in what I am going to say but as good as McEwen is and they were going to play Santa Fe and Lewis County.... I wouldnt consider that a learning experience.... That would be like Vanderbilt playing Vol State or Motlow State.... Best of Luck to Both Teams
  5. Yes with some of those teams with enrollments 5 times larger than Heritages... You know it wasnt necessary the teams that they eneded being matched up with in the tournament but the effort that the coach and players took in getting better. Something you evidentally know nothing about... Also in the Tournament was Bolton form Memphis, East Literature and Warren County.... All extremely larger schools than Heritage.... So young man before you try to tell me how to devolop a team, you need to have experienced it for yourself.... Why do you think Coach Mathis from White House High played in the tournament as well??? It was to develop his team....
  6. McEwen has a good team... But in a way they have cheated themselves... Instead of playing the best competition in getting ready for tournament time they have played relatively weak teams.... Their Strength of Schedule ranks 100 out of 104 teams in "A".... I wish them well in the tournament but they havent taken the step to prepare them for being a tough tournament ready team... For this reason they are vulnerable any night they step on the court.... Such as the case with Houston County.... I have to pull for Heritage in this one because they are the underdog.... And they will be ready to play.... While McEwen was taking a 2 week break for Christmas Heritage was taking on very tough "AA" and "AAA" teams in the Overton Tournament.... You have the chance to be a VERY GOOD team McEwen but you just havent taken all of the steps to develop into a GREAT TEAM.....
  7. Freeman Ratings lacks alot to be desired.... East Robertson #10 and they Have McEwen at #12 after McEwen pretty handedly beat East already twice this year.... Not trying to take away from East they do have a good team just not sure of the logic put into this ranking system... Especially a pole ranking Tennessee Teams out of the State of California...
  8. Why would an NCS "grad" be getting brasso, they are already gone....Even if the stars and the moon aligned perfectly and NCS had Candace Parkers (UT) Sister transfer into to finish the season and they won the Gold Ball because some one didnt show up to play the game.... Charlie Anderson would still take credit for it for all of the hard work he put in with the girls team last year....
  9. Why dont we just kid on them a little more, while they are down...White House is definately having an off year to say the least for a lot of different reasons.... However, I remember a few times when Hendersonville was having an off season and nobody was dragging them through the mud... Best of Luck to both teams... Hendersonville will win in double digits.... Keep your heads up White House...
  10. Thrown out of a game, get real.... Yeah he gets his point across to the officials (sometimes in a very colorful way) and yes he gets an occassional technical now and then taking up for his team.... but thrown out of a game.... NEVER He has been around to long and is to smart to allow that to happen....
  11. QUESTION... I thought when the new Clay County High Scholl was built that Hermitage Springs was going to cease from serving grades 9-12 and all of the High School Students would be consolidated into one school.... Was this ever the plan or was I told wrong??????????
  12. As long as Heritage doesnt over look this game (and they normally dont) they will cruise to a 15 point victory....
  13. Every Coach has different priorities that the evaluate kids under... It all depends on the Coach, their school and their experiences..... Yes Skills, Grades, Family, Attitude, High School Program, Etc. Etc., Etc. all are a major key to their evaluatoin process. However, each college team has their on approach to the process...
  14. Has to be between: Johnny Lee - MLK Good Season Great Athlete Kenton Coleman - Greenbrier Great Leader - Point Production down from the previous two seasons but he is spreading the ball to other players) Wes Mayes - DL Goood Scorer and Defender
  15. I thought I might have been a little mistaken after the NCS win over East Robertson. Then JoByrns proved me right by beating NCS by 7 making it pretty close to my prediction... NCS beat Jo Byrns by 25 in their first match up... So I guess my original post is still prety close to perfect.........[/b]
  16. Will Steven Jamison be out for the remainder of the year??
  17. Not to take away from the other players, but without Jamison's large presence it will be a 20 point game.... Interesting Fact Mt Juliet coach VanAtta got his coaching start as an assistant to White House Heritage Coach Mike Petrone while they were both at Father Ryan...LONG LONG TIME AGO... He's a Good Guy and a Good Coach.... Keep your head up White House you have come a long way this year and have set a solid foundation for next year....
  18. For the most part a lot of these coaches do it for the love of the game and the love of working with and coaching young men and women.... I am sure a coach would receive 2 pay supplements to coach 2 teams so I would have to say money has nothing to do with it.... There have been several teams who were fairly successful with dual role coaches, the first to come to mind is Gary Carter at Macon county who coached both teams for several years and now just coaches the girls.... Then you have the situation like at Nashville Christian last year where the boys coach (Charlie Anderson) basically had the girls coach (whom was an exceptional coach) removed becasuse he wouldnt bow down to him everytime he walked in the gym. So he (Anderson) coached both teams last year... Gave all the attention to the boys team and showed up for the girls games, even though he slept through some of the girls games... So as you can see it has its pro's and con's
  19. Charlie Anderson coached both teams at Nashville Christian last year... He felt guilty since he had the girls coach (an exceptional coach) from the previous season removed... Proved to much for him... It was to hard for him to stay awake through two games...
