  1. Hey TynerRamFan, it probably doesn't even matter. From what I hear, the Region Championship will be played between two teams from the "other" district anyway. Probably Walker Valley and McMinn Central or Tellico
  2. Thanks everyone for your input. I guess we'll just have to wait and see who makes it and eventually wins the AA State. Oh, by the way unfortunately for sleep23, the gold ball will not have to go through 7AA because someone from 7AA will probably have to travel to Walker Valley this season. Things may be much different than when the Lady Mustangs had to travel up there the past two years. I suspect that the winner of the "Gold Ball" will have to go through 5AA this year. Thanks again everyone...hope to see you in the 'burro!
  3. Hey JohnnyBoy; Please read the previous posts carefully before disputing someone's post. I have agreed with most of what you've said, but if you'll read my last post carefully, I didn't talk about the Walker Valley team winning the "District" this year. I simply stated what their Region record would be if they were in that region already
  4. Wow, mission accomplished. I guess starting this thread really got some good discussion going. I'm not really sure what "showtime" is talking about, but Walker Valley is, by far the best team in AA I've seen (Oh, and I don't have a kid playing there either). Mt. Juliet is ranked in the National Polls, and only defeated the Lady Mustangs by 9 points (actually could have easily lost to them). BigApple said it right, the Lady Mustangs of Walker Valley will play 13 AAA games this season, and if they lose to Cleveland (a very good AAA team) on February 15, they will more than likely end up with only 4 losses out of those 13 games. Oh, here's something for you folks that believe they should already be in AAA... You're probably right (by the enrollment numbers), but do you know what their REGION record would be right now (based on who is currently in the region that they'll move to next year)? Next season they will be placed in Region 3, District 5AAA. At the end of this season, the Lady Mustangs will have a 10-1 record against teams in this region (9-2 if they lose to Cleveland). Not too shabby! QUIT CRYING! Walker Valley would probably be in the top 10 in AAA this season.
  5. Their only three losses are to Cleveland, Mt. Juliet, and Maryville-Heritage. Everyone they've played in AA they've had no trouble with. What do you think their chances are? Looks like a definite trip to the finals. Probably will win it. What are your thoughts?
  6. Tonight's game will be fairly close at halftime. But the Lady Mustangs pull out early in the third quarter and win by at least 15. The problem with Tellico Plains is two-fold. First, intimidation. I'm not saying that it is warranted, but most of the teams in 5AA are intimidated when coming to Walker Valley to play. Second, they don't play anyone. The Lady Mustangs have played 4 different AAA teams this season, one of which is currently ranked # 9 in the country. Yes, their record is 1-3 in those games, but their confidence level is way up and they shouldn't have any problem with the Lady Bears of Tellico Plains. I understand that coach Tucker (Walker Valley) is closing in on 700 wins. Can anyone confirm this?
  7. Can anyone tell me when and where I can find the State polls? I know that USA Today just recently came out with the National rankings, but I'm more interested in the state polls. Just wondering. Thanks
  8. Alyson Butler is a point guard that plays for Walker Valley in Charleston. She is probably the best point guard in the state (she is only a junior though). Next would have to be the Pickel girl from Bradley. She's the real deal. Of course there are always great players in the Knoxville area, but I have seen both of these girls play.
  9. Hey Gottahaveheart; Sounds like it's gonna be a great time. I have a couple of questions perhaps you can answer for me. 1. Where will the tournament be held? 2. Will there be a need for a P.A. Announcer? I definitely would be interested in doing, at least some of the games (I am a big fan of a few of the girls on your team). Perhaps just maybe the finals or many game throughout the week. Thanks,
  10. Does anyone know if the game is on the internet tonight?
  11. There were very few people that thought Walker Valley had a chance against the Lady Blue Devils, but the Lady Mustangs prevailed in the opening round of the state tournament by a score of 2-0. Congratulations Lady Mustangs. Stay hot!
  12. Walker Valley actually scored their first two runs on a pass ball and a wild pitch. That made it 2-0 in the second inning. The Lady Cats made it 2-1 in the top 1/2 of the 6th inning. Then the Lady Mustangs' bats took over, with the bases loaded Ashley Alverson (freshman) hit one over the left fielder's head and scored three runs. They scored one more that inning to make the final 6-1. The Lady Mustangs appear to be peaking at the right time. Good luck in Memphis!
  13. Talk about CLASS! I was fortunate enough to have been at the East Ridge game and saw some of the classiest people I have even been able to see. Sweetwater High School (the biggest rival to WV in their district) brought tons of people to help cheer on the Lady Mustangs to victory. They had signs, were constantly cheering. I am not a WV student, alumni, or anything like that, but I like the school, the coaches, and what they stand for. I just can't say enough about the good sportsmanship and friendship that Sweetwater showed on Wednesday night.
  14. Dblduce; Why must people get on here and try to stir up trouble when the board (to that point has been nothing but positive). There is not any truth to that, and there is not even such a rumor except the one that you are trying to start here. Drop it, and be positive. If you can't, then don't say anything at all.
  15. I just have one thing to say about the Livingston Academy people. CLASS Listen, I have been a Walker Valley fan since the beginning of the school's existence (only 3 years) and have watched them play almost every game since then (and I don't even have a son or daughter on the team). I can honestly say that I have never seen the WV team, coaches, or fans treated with so much respect as the Lady Wildcats fans and administration treated them (us) with on Saturday night. I would guess that one of the reasons that you have been so succesful is because of the way you treat other peopl. I can only hope we can return to favor some day if you ever come to the "Stable" to visit. Good luck to the Lady Wildcats from a Lady Mustangs fan! Hope you win it all! (should I be saying that since we have a team from our region in the tournament?) Oh well, GO LADY WILDCATS
