  1. For all of you who weren't at the game, I invite you to watch the highlight film at http://www.hardin.k12.tn.us/hchs/athletics...VideoIndex.html And for you Ridgeway guys, I don't see how you are saying that there were bad calls. The two fumbles were clearly backwards passes. On the ineligible reciever downfield call, three wide recievers were clearly on the line, making one of them ineligible. But also, on Hardin County's last drive, Barker clearly got in the end zone....TWICE. For all of you who may have been believeing these guys that there were bad calls, see for yourself. The camera doesn't lie. Watch the film. What you'll see is a Hardin County team play well against a good Ridgeway team with an amazing quarterback. The Tigers got a big play at the end, and that won them the ball game. END OF DISCUSSION.
  2. Okay, first off, you're right. We are going to orange mound. Yall arent. Secondly, we've been there before. And you can bank on our boys not being intimidated. I don't see what all the fuss is about. I sat on Melrose's side when we played there in 2000, and they were some of the friendliest people I've ever talked to. I don't see this whole indtimidation factor you guys are talking about. If noise is what you mean, we've faced that this year. It got pretty loud at Rothrock earlier this year. So this whole pitch about welcome to Orange Mound is bogus. Oh and that comment from another post one of you Ridgeway guys made about us not having any teeth was real cute. You guys have surprised me in that you would stoop so low as to criticize our county's people. And to make a comment like that that is totally inaccurate just shows how pathetic you really are.

    Munford

Well, I can tell you that it's not the facilities. Munford's stadium is down in hole which gives it a nice bowl stadium affect. Both home and visitor bleachers are well sized.
  4. Have any of you been to high school games in other states? How do they compare to football here? I went to a game in Florida earlier in the year, and it was awesome. There were fans stacked 5 deep on the sidelines, and the stands were completely full. Whenever there was a touchdown, the place went nuts. It compared to college games I've been to. I was just wandering where we are on the totem pole when it comes to emphasis placed on high school football. I've been to some exciting games this year, but no game I've ever been to in Tennessee compares to the one I saw in Florida this year. I remember someone telling me a story about Bear Bryant. It was Auburn-Alabama week, and a reporter asked him about the biggest game of the year. He replied by saying Aub.-Ala. wasn't the biggest game of the year, but instead a rivalry game that Friday night between two high schools. I'm not sure I got that story completely right, and correct me if you've heard it. Tennessee ball is very great and I love it here, but it seems like there is more excitement elsewhere.

    Hey DD4VOLS

And THAT was unsportsmanlike was called on, guess who, YOUR COACH.
  6. Adam Milligan for Hardin County had 100+ yards recieving and a kickoff return for a touchdown to defeat the sore-losing Ridgeway Roadrunners.
  7. I'm sick of hearing you Ridgeway guys talking about your ring. In case you haven't noticed, it's a 3a ring. We play 4a, and I guess this year you got a little dose of what it's gonnna be like up here with the big boys. You don't understand how big an accomplishment Hardin County made this year. They finished co-champs in one of the toughest regions in West Tenn which includes JCM, Dyersburg, Northside, and Haywood. And also, I'm sick of you referring to the refs as "your" refs. That crew was from Columbia, nowhere close to Savannah. I don't know why you guys have to cry and make excuses to compensate for your loss. Maybe the refs did make a bad call, but that doesn't take anything away from the way our boys played. It's like yall are trying to prove to everyone else yall should have won (when you actually shouldn't have) so you can salvage your pride or whatever. Well, guess what: NO ONE CARES. Bottom line is yall got the L we got the W....GET OVER IT.
  8. The referee didn't call it from the end zone....the head linesman called it. The reason he didn't throw the flag at the beginning of the play was because you can't have ineligible downfield until it's a pass. Right when Hudgens let go of the ball, it was a pass play, therefore making the reciever ineligible. It was a heads-up call, and I beg to differ with you jayray when you say it was the worst officiated game you've ever seen. I don't think they missed a call the whole game, even the ones that went against Hardin County.
  9. Anyone else at the game? I'd love to hear your comments.
  10. Adam Milligan returns a kickoff with 36 seconds left in the game to go up 27-24 on Ridgeway. The game was not over though....Hudgens amazingly heaved the ball 75 yards for a touchdown, but the play was called back for ineligible reciever downfield. This was the most exciting high school football game i've ever seen.
  11. Let's hear your pick for best facility in the West.
  12. From what I saw, Hardin County's running game was solid. The linemen gave Bouterie all day to throw, so I imagine they can run block as well as they can pass block. Their fullback #40 got quite a few carries, and he runs hard. They rotated in a couple of tailbacks, both with fair speed and moves. I think one of them is a sophomore, and I don't know that much because they threw on Dyersburg all night. The defense yielded a few drives to Dyersburg in the first half, but in the second they came out and dominated. They gave up some big plays, but other than that, they were solid.
  13. Yes, I guess you'd have to say Chad Pennington. I never saw him play but I guess he was good in high school. Did UT recruit him?
  14. Well then....we have a quarterback duel friday night. Hudgens sounds like a player, and I'm sure he is. His counterpart from Hardin County is Wes Bouterie. He's 6"6 and very lanky. I would say he's no more than 200 pounds. He has a good arm and uses his strength when he needs to. He steps up well in the pocket, but his one pitfall might be his pocket presence. He takes a lot of sacks, and he doesn't get away from pressure well. However, when he gets in the open field, he is a very affective runner. I think I saw where he had two rushing touchdowns against Lexington. Give Bouterie a D-1 prospect at wide receiver and he's a superstar. In the games I've seen them play his recievers have dropped quite a few balls. The milligan kid is just a sophomore, however, and he catches it with his hands. Anyways.....I guess there is your outlook on the qb's for friday's game. I'm excited about this one. I'm gonna have to find a way to get down there to watch it.
  15. Alright, you guys....i want your list for the best 10 players you've ever seen play in the state. Mine goes like this: 1. Al Wilson, JCM - size and strength couldn't be matched 2. Corey Moore, Haywood - as dominant a lineman as i've ever seen 3. Cedrick Wilson, Melrose - made plays i've never seen elsewhere at HS level 4. Daniel Brooks, JCM - hardest hitter i've ever seen 5. John Henderson, Pearl Cohn - most intimidating player ever 6. Carl Stewart, Maryville - All around best 7. Adarius Bowman - fastest HS player I've ever laid eyes on 8. Ingle Martin, MBA - smoothness and savvy was impressive 9. Chad Clifton, Martin Westview - Best blocker i've seen 10. Robbie Locklear, Hardin Co. - Hard runner was great I know i've left people out that i never saw play so you'll have to excuse me for that. Especially you east tennessee guys, I've never attended a game over there, so yall throw in everybody yall have seen.
