  1. Westview grinds it out in a small upset. Before the season I would have said Westview would win, after the first 3 weeks I thought SGC would win and now I think Westview pulls it out. JMO
  2. You're wrong - Milan won the game. Why the single official threw his hands up who knows. But even the people (including non-Bulldog fans) saw the kids knee down at the 2 yard line. Both radio and newspaper personnel confirmed he was down. Maybe the side judge was blocked off the view, I don't know. But Milan played well enough to win and did walk off with the W. Covington will do well in the playoffs as will Milan. Will either win in Cookeville? Probably not unless both can be more complete teams.
  3. Man, what a game!! I knew it could be close but that was real close. Covington was very physical tonight and the Bulldogs responded to it good. Our offense ran hard tonight and we chewed some minutes off the clock a couple of times. I hate the controversy on the 2 pt. conversion but the right call was ultimately made. Everybody that was close and replays show him down at the 2 yard line and then he jumped and stretched across the goal. The officials sure get a black eye on calls like that. Good Luck to the Chargers down the road!! Milan, finish strong next week and get ready for some playoff fun.
  4. Thanks Gerry - Glad to see the Dawgs back to the #1 seed in quad 4. Really hate the Westview rematch in round 1 if it stays the same but that is part of the plan. I look forward to your annual pickem contest starting in round 1.
  5. Congrats to the Stangs!!! You guys deserved the win tonight. Warbritton is a hoss for sure but your entire team plays well together. You guys will be hard to stop down the road and I sure hope your are able to take the gold ball in 1A. I'm disappointed in the Dawgs tonight. We don't have a killer instinct at all. We were up 13-7 and could've put you guys in a serious hole but couldn't get the job done. Hopefully can rebound and find the things that can complete this team.
  6. 28-14 Bulldogs take the W. I know the Stangs will put up a good fight.
  7. Here Here - I'm here to inform everyone that Milan doesn't try to win any preseason games.....well they may try but the never seem to win any of them. LOL You boys are killing me going back and forth with each other.
  8. In 24 hours it will all be over........... Bulldogs 55 Hornets 14 - Late in the game
  9. I would think we can handle Fairview even though they are improved. CPA will have to be seen. I know they are also much better than last year and have a new staff. I am unsure if they are still the pass happy group of the past.
  10. Well, it's week 4 of the regular season and both teams are still perfect. We know that will end Friday night for one of them. Who you like? Predictions later.......
  11. Through the first 3 games the starting D hasn't given up a point yet. Next 4 games will tell us more though........
  12. Thanks BC - just now saw your post. Milan's D had another shutdown performance last night but it was against Gibson County. Not really anything to brag about. We have the making of a good team if the boys will keep their head screwed on straight. Good luck to you guys for the rest of the year.
  13. What's up BD#1? Milan should be pretty good this year. They will for sure be led by the LB core on D this year. Got some decent size DT's and good ends with hard driving motors. DB's are young for sure but should be well seasoned by the time it counts. The transfer from Texas is a player. Seems to be aggressive on the field and goes for the ball and has good hands. On offense we have a lot of weapons. Bryson showed some tough grit last week, almost reminded you of a young Rod Smith with the way he delivers the blow during a run. FB is by commitee but have a stud there in LB Graves. Tacklers have a tendency to bounce off of him instead of taking him down. He won't play FB that much but will be in when it matters. Belew is young but anyone who has watched him knows he has serious talent. He and Finch can both go to the house on any of thier touches. Another impressive part of our game this year is the kicking game. Brett Hopper is doing the punting and getting about 4.0 to 4.2 hang time, balls going about 50 yards off his foot so that is a good sign. Our PK is Caleb Appleton and he has a much stronger leg this year. My guess is he has got about a 45 yrd range but haven't seen it in a game yet. Very consistent on XP's. Both kickers are Juniors I believe. Hope this helps you and brings you up to date. Don't know if you are living in the area but if you are these Dawgs are worth the price of admission. They still have some things to get worked out with some areas but overall they have good talent.
  14. Benches 400 , Squats 500 and runs a 4.4 or 4.5 and he is a sophomore?? Please post some pics or video of game action cause I just can't believe a Soph. can do all that. That would make him a the top prospect in the nation right now!!!
  15. RBR - your Cavs will be fine. I was shocked last week when Humboldt beat you guys. Coach Ward is the anwser but it will take time. You could tell last year you guys were down. Keep the faith my friend. Milan beats Humboldt this Friday night but it will be close early in my opinion. Milan has many weapons this year and some that we didn't know about............ it's a good problem to have, trust me.
  16. Starting D gave up 2 yards in 3 quarters tonight. Good start for the Dawgs!!!
  17. LOL!!! You smoking crack? Cause you not thinking straight.
  18. I thought for sure ole Swing could stir those Tide fans up. As of right now everybodys still undefeated. C'mon Peabody fans - is anyone out there?
  19. Shortage of officials is what it has been the last few years.
  20. My guess is Milan has too much for the Golden Tide this Friday night. Bulldogs by 21 at least.
