She may be out for money, whose to say. But according to the local newspaper, when they went to look in his file to see if he had been repremanded, the parent wasn't allowed to see it. But when the paper got a hold of his file the repremand was missing. HMMMMMMMM, something fishy going on. Now if the Sherriff had no reasonable cause he wouldn't have reopened the investigation. Now you can talk about Unaka and drugs all day, but in the end it doesn't matter. Every sports team in every school in the county has had a run of bad kids. The only way that is going to stop is to get drug testing in H.S. sports, like Erwin. I'd be willing to bet that if you had drug testing in the county half of the atheletes in all sports, in every school would be ineligable.

I believe whent the Sherriff said that his actions were questionable, that was proof enough. If you had a daughter and he text messaged her and bought her gifts, wouldn't you do the same thing. She is trying to protect her daughter, now the truth will stand when the world is on fire, if he is innocent than I will admit I was wrong. But, you have to admit that his actions were questionable and if it had been anybody but him they would have been fired. Case in point Cloudland. And, by the way they will tell you Unaka's the worst when it comes to drugs, but what you dont say is Unaka has kicked out more kids because of this, this is why scores and graduation rates are down. The school Administrators cant control how parents choose to raise their children, however they can control Student - Faculty relations. Using drugs is not dependent on what you are taught at school, it is dependent on your own personal choices.

Hampton, Happy Valley, Unaka, Cloudland, and Elizabethton. Three of these teams already play each other, why can't we get the other two in the mix?

From what I've heard, there's problems in 'lander' land. Apparently, there is a lot of people who support Robbie, and equal number who don't. Not sure how many games in that support will go, due to the spread offense, but for the time being it's there. Apparently there have been some remarks from the coaches about each other.

Turbyfill might be a gap filler between Keith and Lunceford. However the reason he is trying so hard on offense is he dont trust Julian with the defense. Robbie knows failure is eminent but at least he has Julians defense to use as a scapegoat, when the highlander faithful come calling for his resignation and Lunceford's return.

The watauga conference seems to be upside down, with coaching changes. Hampton wants to follow Unaka's lead (as always) and rehire their former coach Jerry White. So I'll tell you what, while I'm posting I'll fix the whole conference..... Unaka hired back Ronnie Snavely and Hampton's gonna hire Jerry White, So why don't Cloudland go get John Hyatt, he was as successful as Ned. UH can go get Joe Mc Pherson, maybe he'll quit coaching soccer and finish the job that Tony Gordon couldn't. North Green can relive the days of the great Jerome Woosley. Better yet lets just have a Smokey Mountain Conference reunion and bring back David Whaley and Cosby, as well as Honcock County and Coach Seal. Who needs people like Bud Hazlewood, Kelly Oliver, Len Dugger, Leon Tolley, and Brandon Carpenter, when you can have Great "Retreads" like these.

Listen, you can talk about all the canidates you want, Leon is a good coach, J.R. is a good coach, and either could do a good job. However with the current situation at Hampton you could put Buck Van Huss and Jerry White on the same bench together and still not win. Changing coaches wont make it better, you've got to start at the top!!!!!! Remember it takes 2 blue to make 1 MAROON

Part of the blue alliance would never acknowledge the 04 STATE CHAMPION UNAKA RANGERS, after all it takes 2 Blue to make 1 MAROON!!!!!!!!!! COME GET SOME!!!!!!!!!

For those that dont realize, Elizabethton has a talented coach as well as a very talented team. However Unaka has a talented team aswell, yeah their players may not go to D1 colleges or anything but dont short change them. But if my memory serves me correctly, E towns best player last year Ryan Kennedy didnt get a D1 scholarship, he's playing at King with Unaka's Tee Blevins. Also, if you want to talk trash about D1 or NAIA, just talk to E-towns coach he was very successful at the NAIA level, i'm sure he wouldn't discredit any player regardless of their talent status. Now, if Elizabethton beats Unaka saturday @ East, then they are supposed to. But, if Unaka beats Elizabethton, than it is just another good win on a State Tournament resume. To asnwer many critics Unaka cant help the conference or region opponents, however, that is why they play Sullivan South (AAA), Sullivan East (AAA), Sullivan North (AAA), David Crockett (AAA),Tennessee High (AAA), Daniel Boone (AAA), South Greene (AA), CHuckey Doak (AA), Happy Valley (AA), and Johnson County (AA), Now I'm sure that if you will look at Elizabethton's schedule you will see several, if not all of these teams are on there. Kudos to Coach Enser for playing this competition year in and year out. Lastly if you notice the majority of the schools that won single A State championships in the previous 4 years, have competed and/or won the AA state year last year. So AA competition is not that much greater. Good Luck to all Carter County teams this year!!!!!!

i dont post too often at all, However i happened to be at the Unaka and Cosby game last season, Cosby never got across the 50 more than twice, the touchdown that Cosby scored to be the winning touchdown, was a dropped screen pass by Unaka and Cosby ran it back. However i dont like hearing your kids talk trash about everyone else. As I can see it Unaka gave that game away last year and they have beaten Cosby the previous two years so until you beat them and Unaka dont beat theirselves. You have no room to talk y'all haven't beat the mountainmen or the bulldogs yet either. So please let your play on the field do the talking, not your fingers. By the way leave rangerbook alone , he did play on 4 straight Championship baseball teams, for the Rangers.

As for the district 1A jamboree, Hampton did sweep all the games, however Unaka used a split squad because they have several kids they feel can compete at any time. Hampton beat a Unaka team with 5 jv starters and a sophomore pitcher. Hampton will be a very formidable opponent in district 1a no doubt. They have some talent especially in Milligan Signee, Brandon Barnett and also Cody Montgomery. But anyone would have to agree with Unaka playing a tougher non-conference schedule it has to make them a favorite. Good Luck to All Carter County Teams. And Hampton remember, THere is room for 2 CC teams in the 1A STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS
