Replacing the seniors off last years team will be hard to do, However theres still alot of talent on "The Creek". Brandon Medina, will replace McCann, Aaron Greer, will replace Huskins and a combination of Sophomore sensations Shane Heaton and Bryant Collins will share duties in replacing McInturff. Look For Freshman Adam Colbaugh to have an impact aswell as Chris Buckles. Look for good things At 1b with Adam Buckles and Hunter Taylor sharing the load.

Unaka's Tee Blevins deserves condsideration as a soph. he had 8 wins to 2 loses, has helped his team to 2 straight state tourn. apperaences.

well said Fan, it probably would have been a different game against Oakdale, had we have had those missing starters. but give Oakdale credit, they they play hard, and #10 for them is a heck of a player.

King, oops! I'm sorry Radio, I do believe Unaka is 2-0, with 45 players this year, and Cloudland is what? 0-3 with 30 to 35 players out. Winning breeds success, and y'all aint winning. If getting drilled by hampton 28-6 which could have been worse had Hampton not started subbing on Defense. or the Sullivan East pounding is considered success, than your the most successful team in the state. However the big schedule, means nothing except it has already made you 0-3, Now every body knows all that matters is what happens in the conference, and you have North Greene coming so how bout focusing on them instead of Unaka. Because, if you dont the Landers could wind up 0-4, 0-1 in conf. Dusty Neal is expected back and he gave Happy Valley fits until his injury occured. The Landers should play with them pretty well, but if you keep looking ahead to the future, the present could be very costly!!!!!!!!!

In my opinion when you talk about coach of the year, you have to take into consideration the tradition of the school, and the athletes. Schools like D-B, Maryville, and Cloudland have very rich traditions, and are presently in the middle of one of the greatest runs talent wise in the schools existence. However Unaka has not made the playoffs since 1994, and haven't won more than 1 game in 4 yrs. Therefore, my vote goes to Mike "acey" Ensor and his staff, they have done a tremendous job, and look for even greater things to comein the near future. GO RANGERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

yeah........ I agree Mike Lunsford, maybe one of the best coaches in the state, but to say he takes a bunch of small town boys and makes them a powerhouse is saying a bit much, after all when you dont have a state boundry, it doesnt really make a small town too small.

Everyone who has voiced an opinion on this board seems to blame the coaching staff at Elizabethton for their recently declining record, however maybe a coaching change would help. But in Coach Jenkins defense, too many people want to live in the past and expect Dave Rider type teams to step on the field every game. That is impossible! Tommy has not had the depth or any where near the talent Coach Rider had during the 90's. Those teams where some of the greatest in school History. However if you would look at the coaching staff, 75% of them assisted coach Rider in those years, and there is plenty of football knowledge in that group. Maybe the problem in the lower ranks, after that is one of the first places a player learns the true meaning of "Cyclone Football"
