Coach Peck, It looks like you have most of these picks right, but I have one to throw in the mix. Matt Brinck (Tullahoma) has beat Brooks (Smyrna) at 135 and has beat both Payne (LaVergne) & Burch (Centennial) this season. Brinck should be thrown in there somewhere. We have not wrestled Kozlowski (Centennial) yet but we have beat 2 guys that have beat him recently, so I think we have a great shot at placing in the region in either 135 or 140.

Gessler did not wrestle Johnson (Rossview). Rossview bumped Johnson to 160 where he Teched our 160. Gessler went on to pin the 152 in the 1st period.

Coach, I don't think that incident had any effect on Jeff Co. attending the Bradley Tournament this year. From what I hear Jeff Co. numbers are way down from years past. I don't think Jeff Co. will be traveling alot this season due to the low numbers. Although it is a thought provoking question, but I think the coach could look past the incident from last season. I did see the end of the whole thing I think I was in the hospitality room at the time. The call was made and there is nothing anyone can do about it now or then. We have to trust the officals to make the correct call at the time. We can always second guess the refs, but where would that get us?

Max Gessler from Tullahoma should be a state contender this season. Max placed 6th at 125 his freshmen year, and placed 3rd last year at 135 as a soph. I think he will be able to compete with Borneman, but we will see at Father Ryan. What weight is Ryan Scott at this season, and Marable.

No vandal has been sick for the past few days and did not wrestle this past weekend. Brinck was defeated by a guy named Brooks I think? I need to look in our book to make sure. Matt was ahead going into the third period 10-9 and got out wrestled for 2 minutes with the final 17-11 in favor of Clarksville.

Brinck (Tullahoma) beat Masters (Riverdale) 15-8 last night in a dual match. It was not close until the last period when Brinck was gased. Masters wrestled hard throughout the match and had himself in a position to pin Brinck at the end. Gessler (Tullahoma) Beat Adcox (Lavergne) 5-3 in a great match last night at Riverdale. Max bumped up to 160 for this great match to defeat the #3 ranked 160 pound wrestler in the state.

Max Gessler 152 Tullahoma Matt Brinck 135 Tullahoma Max should come across Luke at the Father Ryan tournament in Jan, so we will see how tough each wrestle is. I think Luke was state runner-up at 145 or 152 and Max was 3rd at 135 last year. This should prove to be a good match if they come across each other at Ryan. Max is a junior and so is Matt

Well I will speak up for Franklin. Franklin is one of the best teams in the middle tn area without a doubt. If Franklin can improve their 215 & 275 weights then I don't see anyone touching them until State Duals. They dismantled both Smyrna and Tullahoma the other night at Franklin. Jon and his rebels are as solid as I had seen a team in sometime. If they stay healthy that team should represent Region 5 very well this year at state duals. Hope for the best

Matt Brinck from Tullahoma is going to have a great year at 135. He is undefeated at this time but it is early in the year. We wrestle Riverdale Tuesday so we will get a chance to see what Brinck is made of? Matt defeated both the Franklin and Smyrna wrestler in a dual match last week.

Yes Calvin Bryant is out for the year he had surgery on Saturday morning following their win against Melrose. I hope for all you Morristown supporters that something happens to Hillsboro before the game on Saturday because it won't be as close as some of you might think. Yes losing Calvin will hurt the Burros, but I am sure that Tibbs will fill the slot on Offense, but I don't know how they will replace him on Defense. Hillsboro had 478 yards rushing against Melrose although Motown did shut down Maryville this task againt the Burros will not be as easy, believe it!!! I think Hillsboro has the advantage come Saturday because they have been here before, yes twice losing to Maryville. In my opinion Motown played their State Championship Game Saturday in Morristown against Maryville. That was a huge win for their program and well deserved, but Hillsboro has been there and will not go home empty handed again. I perdict the Burros running away with it early and fast with a final Hillsboro 42 Morristown West 7.
