  1. Hold on....I am not trying to put it all on his shoulders just saying that he can be a big time playmaker so we need to find more ways to get him the ball.....#5 would be another good one to get the ball to when he gets back to full speed. I agree P22, the qb's need to start getting the ball down, but how about throwing some screen passes to get your athletes going early and also help your qb's confidence in the process.
  2. Oneidas defense has already proved they can play but when is the offense gonna show something. I can understand the first 2 games of the year not wanting to let Coalfield see a whole lot of what you can do but they didn't do anything against them either. It is a shame when you have a potential all-state player in #8 and can't find a way to get him the ball. How can he go from making plays against Ausin East and Fulton as a sophomore to not making plays against Wartburg, McCreary Co., and Coalfield. I am about as big of an Oneida fan as there is and I am not trying to put any of the players or coaches down but at some point you gotta get your big time players the ball. I know that I have made several posts about this kid(we are not related)but all I want to see is Oneida get back to where they used to be and for that to happen the running up the middle stuff is going to have to stop. With that said......I don't know a whole lot about Williamsburg but I do know they have a high powered offense so our defense is gonna have to show up again, and hopefully our offense will show up too. Good luck Friday night and GO BIG ORANGE.
  3. I want Scott High to win every game they play but I am no longer gonna beat the dead horse. Good post Kaz
  4. Scott might beat Oneida every year but they should because they are 3a and Oneida is 1a. Classifications are based on enrollment and SHS may be on the bottom of 3a and Oneida may be on the top of 1a but that is just how it is. And for the comment on SHS would "go to state every year if they were in Oneida's region" is crazy because teams like Trousdale Co. can wipe the floor with several teams in 1a, 2a, and 3a. This topic is old as can be....it aint gonna happen anymore so just get over it and focus on Oliver Springs.
  5. I am not sure who "scoot" is but I think it will be....... Scott-20 OS-13 Dean, Oneida has had 3 losing seasons in something like 18 years.....so I don't think that I would be talking about how easy it is to beat the "team up north."
  6. Oneida has somthing to prove this year. I don't believe they will finish in the top 2 in the region but 3rd is a very reachable goal. Hopefully the offense can produce enough points to help out a defense that only allowed about 12 points a game last year. I believe tonight will be a good night for the Indians........ Oneida-27 Wartburg-12
  7. There was not one thing in that whole statement that made any sense. Anyway...........please don't get that Scott High against Oneida crap going again. One last thing, when you make posts on here atleast have enough respect for people that you do not mention real names or give hints to who they are.
  8. I guess "hooked on phonics" didn't work for you.
  9. With Coalfields offensive weapons they should be able to score at will. Cumberland Gap should not score. Coalfield- 35 Cumberland Gap- 0
  10. They scrimmage Union Co. this Friday. Don't know a time.
  11. The defense looked very good but that was against a team that went 5 wide no huddle. I am anxious to see how they will do against a team that will line up and try to run it right at them. The offense is going to take some time and I hope to see the ball in the air a little more in the next few weeks. If the O-line gives the QB's enough time then Buttram, Lambert, and Christiansen will make some plays. We will get another look at them this Friday night.
  12. I am sorry I forgot the great Kaz knows all.
  13. The way I see it, 1. Harriman/Coalfield- both teams have a boat load of talent but the injury bug could bite either or both teams and they could drop down to 2 or 3. 3. Oneida- will be stronger as a team this year (graduation for once is going to help) and back to the old Oneida Football offense. Coalfield, Sunbright, and Midway all have to come to Oneida this year so we should expect much better games. 4. Sunbright/Midway- teams will be ready for Brandon Thompson this year so there will not be any surprises and Midway got back several skilled players. Just 15 days to go and then all of these predictions won't mean squat.
  14. There are alot of people that think Tony Lambert is the best defensive coordinator in east tn. So it is not just the people in Oneida. Oneida has talent this year and should be much improved on the offensive side of the ball. Lambert no longer has to play QB so there should be more big plays and less 3 and outs. 3 weeks to go.
  15. I just can't believe that someone from Fulton is doggin a player from AE. It just doesn't make sense.
  16. Job or no job, coach or no coach sometimes people just get caught up in the moment and don't realize what they are saying until it has already been said. Apparently he did realize what he said later because he came back and appologized. Like other people have said, coaches, whether one likes it or not cuss and are going to continue to cuss and kids also do the same thing.
  17. I don't know what your deal is with soccer but it has had nothing to do with the football program these past few seasons. At a small school like Oneida you are not going to be great every year. Once in a while the talent pool is going to be a little bit low and that has been the case the past couple of years. Don't get me wrong, there were some good players last year but there was not that gamebreaker type player that Oneida has always seemed to have. Now that Lambert don't have to play QB he might be that player that Oneida was missing last year.
  18. Soccer has not taken over and hopefully football will always be the main sport. Oneida has had some talent these past few years but just not as much as they did in the late 90's and early 2000's. Things will be back to normal before long.
  19. I am very sorry. I saw all the other sports mentioned, and since I was just scanning over the post, I just assumed football was on there to. Mr. WesCharge I know how the classifications work so there is no need to be a jerk.
