Are combines the same as camps? I know that when Marsalous Johnson and another boy were at a combine in Ohio, they were offered a letter of intent on the spot.

Smyrna's coaching staff did a fabulous job of getting 7 out of 15 seniors signed yesterday and more to come. I am very proud of what the coaches and more importantly the boys have done. Smyrna High is very proud! Good Luck to each one of these young men!

I was replying to the previous post...... believe me this is serious I have a son at Smyrna High! It is a very sad day when kids are carrying guns to games or even in thier cars. This is very scary and I in no way am trying to make light of this truly serious matter. I just answered the previous post. I hope if they catch the people that fired shots into a parking lot full of people that justice is served, whether they are Smyrna kids, Lavergne kids or just some thugs from ????

Smyrna did not get beat by double digits. It was really a good game and seemed like a great high school atmosphere. The girls won and until people got outside everything seemed fine!

I have also seen MOST coaches dip ..................But if you get stopped by the police for speeding, he doesn't say "it's okay we just put that speed limit sign up for decoration ... everyone does it, here is your ticket" A rule is a rule plain and simple. They are made to follow, how can you expect your kids to follow your rules if you don't follow the rules. "Live by example" should be every coaches motto. They are probably the most influential person in a young athletes life. I know they are in my son's life. Just my thoughts..................

"Deathtrap" is a GREAT description. It will be interesting to see what happens ... ALL over the region. It is that time of year when everyone wants to play fruit basket turnover. All we can do is speculate and sit back and watch what happens. Should be fun!!!!!

Address the issue not the person .... why is it different when a Riverdale player gets thrown out for a "cheap shot" in the first game?

Has everyone totally forgotten about the first game at Smyrna? I guess the "man in charge" was not there when #99 for Riverdale got ejected for a cheap shot to the head of a SHS player. It happened both ways that Friday night and this past Friday night.

If you are going by the colors in the trophy case ....that would make Riverdale maroon and SILVER!
