  1. He does have a cousin...who plays football.....but he plays for Humboldt.
  2. That's not a very nice thing to say. I'm sure there are a few soldiers in Iraq who would disagree. As far as beating Westview, you worry about Milan and we'll worry about Carver. If things work out, we'll have the rematch we've all been waiting for. We've gotten alot better since week 2.
  3. I'll be there Friday night pulling for Huntingdon to repeat thumb GO STANGS!!!
  4. My all-time favorite oxymoron...Microsoft Works!
  5. Well, the game starts in less than nine hours. Here's my opinion on the game since everyone else has one. If the field gets slick, which it probably will, I say the team that has the most passing yards will win. Reason? A WR has an advantage over a DB because the DB doesn't know which cuts the WR will make. If the players can keep their footing, H-Town's running game will be a force to be reckoned with. I haven't seen DL play so I don't know about their running game. As always, especially if field is slick, turnovers may decide the game. One thing to take into consideration. As many DL fans have noted, their first stringers have played so well in all their games that they've usually pulled them by the third or fourth quarter. If the game stays tight until the end, will DL's first stringers be conditioned enough to play well towards the end of the game? They may be, but that's one thing to think about. It happened last week to Rod Smith and he had two fumbles. One forced and one unforced. My prediction? No score here but I think it will be a close game until the end. And the team with the most turnovers and most missed tackles will be state runner-up. I think it will be a good, solid game and will be well worth sitting outside in 30 degree temperature in the snow. Good luck to all the teams at the Boro and may all the players stay injury-free, play fair and represent their school well. There are no losers when you make it to this level...just disappointed players, coaches and fans. Good luck and GO H-TOWN STANGS!!!
  6. We'll be there! Leaving work today at high noon and will be heading to the 'Boro by 1:30pm at the latest. Just hope we don't get stuck in any rush hour traffic!
  7. For all you DL fans who are bashing our Mustangs and saying you will win 30+ points to 6 or 12, I've got a spelling lesson for you. My hometown Mustangs are spelled HuntingDon...not Huntington. If you can't remember that there's D in Huntingdon, we will be glad to show you our D come Friday night at 7pm. And you will never forget it. Seriously, I've never seen DL play and most of you have never seen H-Town play. And since you can't win the game on a message board, we might as wait until Friday night to declare the class 2A state champion. DL has a good football team and so does Huntingdon. Otherwise, they wouldn't be playing Friday night for the gold. As for me, I'll be at the game Friday night sitting with dcw and crew...sitting back, watching and smiling!

    State Championship

By the way, HuntingDon are the Mustangs, also. And never underestimate the heart and talent of kids you've never seen. I've watched these kids play all year and they've definitely gotten stronger since they got beat by Milan during the regular season. They've been underdogs in the playoffs against Lewis Co. and Milan and took care of business in both. My prediction...Huntingdon will knock off its third consecutive undefeated team and win the class 2A state championship. It may not be easy, but I know these kids can step up to their competition and play just as good. GO H-TOWN STANGS!
  9. Cloudland swept both lineman and back in 1A. Rod Smith won for back in 2A. Earnest Williams won for back in 3A. Those are the only ones I can remember.
  10. It's going to be a very fun game to watch. Myself personally, I will be rooting for the Stangs. I think they will be looking for revenge this game. I just hope they don't overplay and make mistakes and give up the big play to Milan. I'm hoping history will be on our side because for years it seemed like we could never beat Westview during the regular season. But if we met up with them in the playoffs, we could beat them. Maybe we can do the same thing this year with Milan. I know Huntingdon's offense and defense has improved drastically since the loss to Milan during the regular season. And I'm sure Milan has gotten better, too. I look for this game the be an offensive showcase. I'll say whichever team has the most turnovers and most missed tackles will be on the short end of this game. I think it will be a close game though. Whoever wins will represent West TN well and bring the hardware back home. Huntingdon 30 Milan 24 Good luck to both teams and good luck to all West TN Mr. Football candidates! Let's show 'em how West TN can represent! GO STANGS!
