  1. man, waco, yer the man sometimes, but you can't say that. you can never talk about teams playin themselves, it doesn't work. oh no, why am i in louisiana? ugh, a DB-OR game in the playoffs is waaaaay more important than college. wut the heck. oh, and im glad the pfc kids are gona, and im glad bigwaltdeezy realized that he wasn't wanted...ha its cool man...but i mean seriously, church league basketball? prediction again in a classic in which the end isn't clear until the final whistle, oak ridge will edge it out through hardnosin and a few lucky breaks and both sides will be proud, one will be a lil disappointed, but both will hold their heads up high Wildcats over the Tribe by 6
  2. Yes they were literally one of the greatest to hit the school. It was AP that voted the national champs. I still don't see why the TSSAA doesn't have OR down for 61. Wonder whos mixed up there. I'm pretty sure we had a gold ball for that one too. Actually that might still be in the age of the tall trophy with the kicker on top...
  3. I agree. In fact, I already said it. haha, sorry bud. people never jump on my threads much either. I've only had one go hot topic..its like a trophy. next time tho bud
  4. there's none other! go ridge
  5. big eds! go early tho!
  6. yeah this has been a good year for coalfield. thats always my 1a team to root for. they were on fire there for a wile, then i dunno wut happend. i was worried about unaka, but after they took care of that i knew the green wave was goin down to the jackets. greenback has had some success in the past few seasons against coalfield have they not? id say coalfield will edge or greenback will beat by 2 scores.
  7. oh ya i fergot...lets consolidate this weeks discussion into one thread. ya know, just so it gets lotsa hype. and so we can surpass that db-soddy thread that got like, 1000+ views and went to like 24 pages. thats insane, im convinced that the Tribe fans, and prolly alot of anti-fans, are the biggest coacht fanatics behind me. haha, ne wayz, the DB INDIANS @ OAK RIDGE WILDCATS started by ArtVandaly, one of my fave contributors i must say, has some support, im goin there
  8. hahaha man I love graham clark and his one-liners. that guy is hilarious. I always love his OR comments they are on the money. he's done a good job up at kingsport and I absolutely cannot wait for this battle wishin friday night was every night....for various reasons
  9. wow. you call for two east tn upsets? need I remind you that DB was number 1 in the final state poll and OR was number 2. personally, i know that neither will lose. but to claim they they both will? ridiculous exactly notice the forum rigger...FOOTBALL...you talk about wrestling too much. I'm sorry that you feel a need to compensate but please, save it for another forum once again I just don't see Soddy pulling it out tonight against the might Tribe in Kingsport. Maybe its logic, or maybe its just me loving an OR-DB matchup. Either way, ne thing goes once the whistle is blown on Friday night in Tennessee.....
  10. oh thats neat...i heard that coach kreis is leaving...you heard this by any chance?
  11. I know isn't it crazy. Last year woulda been nice, but Id love 2 see em win now too. ne wayz, i think we are looong overdue
  12. Yes he definitely has an uphill battle over in Clinton. But I'm sure he still believes that. Coach Shattuck didn't say it because Oak Ridge won. He said it when we lost. The team that wins is the better team for that game, and he had enough gumption about him to not only realize that, but proclaim it. We lost, he would say, the better team won guys. I mean, how else do you determine the comparitive strength of two teams other than by having 'em line up for 4 quarters? Stats and paper mean nothing w/o that W
  13. why is Oak Ridge not listed on that? is the .7878 avg not acurate? any ideas coacht land???
  14. It is good to be a member of the Oak Ridge family. I graduated last year, and yeah, I enjoyed every minute of it! One thing though, about your "OR was the better team" comment...a smart man once told me "The better team always wins." That man was Andy Shattuck, and I have always believed it.
  15. ahh always mr. clary. ha, i prolly get carried away on here sometimes though. all in good fun. oh how's that new van treatin ya...? Oak Ridge 28 FarraGUT 10
  16. He said Gomer? hahaah, thats obviously on purpose. its funny though, i love andy griffith. haha, gomer
  17. Biglon...who won it in 1961? OH, wait, I know exactly who. Oak Ridge did. see http://www.orhswildcats.com/playoffs.html for conformation. So that put's Oak Ridge to be tied for second with Montgomery Bell. Wow. I'm sorry but I have got to give some love for my Ridge. Looks like only 2 teams in the state have more titles than Oak Ridge: one is a private school that has been amazing ever since forever, and the other is Dobyns-Bennett, the winningest program in state history. The only other team with 8 titles is another private school, and all three (MBA, BA, and D- are much older than Oak Ridge, who fielded its first football squad in 1943 and was led to an 0-4 season by head coach Ben Martin. And let's not forget national championships. Oak Ridge in 1958 with the single wing great Jackie Pope. Anyone else got a US title under their belts? Hahah, actually thats ridiculous, let's not even get into that...
  18. haha, what happened milan...realize you were wrong? ha im just messin. how does both D-B and OR have the title in 1956? I know for a fact that we have a trophy and a team picture up at the school for that year. Anyone from D-B have any idea? Was this year split?
  19. Well, actually I'm kind of far from Oak Ridge at the moment and as much as I hate it won't be up at the 'Ship for this one. I'm at school and haven't got to see a game since but if we beat Farragut and then D-B and then y'all do your part, I will be in town for the semis and will definitely make the trip out to the 'Boro to see what I know will be a great rematch! I'll be listening to the OR-Farragut game online and they always give a score rundown at halftime so I could call if you like but there probably is s/o there you can get in touch with that would be better for you, especially with you being in the pressbox. Oh and I knew that Riverdale has been talented for a good long while, you didn't have to sell it to me. Good luck to your boys and I hope we can come play in a few weeks!
  20. hopefully you guys are rooting for the Cardinal and Grey! Haha, but seriously firstbase you always make good points. I didn't know you graduated from ORHS. What year were you? I'm always glad to see a Coalfield fan. Are you from OR or Coalfield? Where do you live now? They beat Unaka which suprised me a little. Next week the Midway rematch. But this is an OR forum so... goooooooooo CATS!
  21. You are right and wrong. We did not have a hurry-up offense at the time; maybe it would have helped. However, as soon as Scott McMahon made the completion to James Mitchell at around the 4 or 5 yardline, we immediately lined up to spike the ball. So in saying that we didn't spike the ball you are completely wrong. Sorry, but you are. And the Riverdale comment? First of all we haven't played Riverdale that many times. Second of all don't credit the close game to a weak Warrior squad. Ask Gary Rankin what he thinks about last year's team and I'm sure he'd have a little different opinion.
  22. hmm my fault guess I did...I'm always assuming everyone is from the football part of TN, the east that is
  23. I already made my prediction, and I'm with Clary on this one. Farragut simply does not have what it takes to stop OR this game. One of the biggest reasons I think is the simple fact that the Cats want another shot at D-B. The only reason I don't have the gap wider is because traditionally, the OR-Farragut matchup has been a stodgy where Oak Ridge wins but rarely scores too high.
  24. ha, really clary. raider hasnt really asked a question or given much room for an answer
