Im pretty sure cheatham has a winning record in 10aa. IT is 10aa coach of the year! Who cares what happens outside of the district. If that was the case waverly has lost all of the big games they needed to win to prove they were this powerhouse team. Just because theyre 8-0 in a district where the teams arent no where as good as they have been doesnt make waverly great. I think theyre over rated.

mkhhawk, be assured im happy waverlys team is focused on team goals. I didnt say it wasnt. I was just responding to a couple of opinions regarding who should be the district mvp. Some one started the post by saying ricco should be the front runner, possibly a waverly fan (noggin), possibly not. No one is trying to screw up a teams focus.

Ok waverly fans, which would you like? A most athletic player award(ricco) or an mvp award(noel smith). Noel is not athletically gifted like ricco yet he lights up waverly and every other team in the disrict night in and night out. Ricco has the whole package? SInce when has ricco been able to hit anything outside of 18 ft? Noel doesnt rely on screens to score. Thats the offense cheatham runs, everyone benefits out of it. Noel shoots better than anyone in the state, handles the ball as well as any pg in the district, and makes just as many no look passes as anyone. He cant help that hes not 6'0 and cant jump out of the gym. Hes hands down the smartest player in the district and knows how to abuse the other team. Noel should win the mvp because without him, cheatham is no better off than MC in the district. WIthout ricco, waverly is still contending for the top spot. Noel is the MOST VALUABLE player but is at a huge disadvantage when being compared to ricco's athleticism. No one for waverly has made a point as to why ricco should win the mvp, only the MOST ATHLETIC player which i dont beleive there is an award for.

I too would like for these teams to meet again in the district tournament. As far as the flops and cheap shots, trying to take a charge is a good idea against a player like bullard who can play out of control at times and some nights youll get the call, some nights you wont. Thats playing smart, and as i remember it always worked for vlade!

You might want to keep this in mind catfish. The only reaosn they had a senior pg lose his mind was because they had a coach lose his mind and get in a fight with the player which is why he transfered. I dont know why you try and act superior to everyone by bringing up historical facts and correcting everyones grammar. Cn you not just keep it about the 04-05 basketball season. Waverly is not a dynasty and wont be even if they win the championship this season and next. Something like that takes AT LEAST 3 or 4 seasons. Waverly was the clear favorites to win it all this season so its no surprise if they do. As far , the region goes, the only team that has a decent chance to compete with giles is waverly. I would say sycamore, harpeth, and cheatham would all be underdogs by at least 18 points. As far as the district tourney goes, waverly is the favorite and the rest is up for grabs. However, i do feel that waverly can be beaten by harpeth, cheatham or sycamore.

crossup, your right, bolden shouldve dominated those 2 teams but central does start a 6'5 and 6'6 post players. Even though he is superior to them, its hard to get it done by yourself in the paint against 2 bigger guys.

Pretty bold statement from a guy whos team is 6-11. Cheathams isnt much better im sure, but i didnt bring it up to start with. Catfish, with the way cheatham is playing they wont be advancing in the tourney but im pretty sure that unless your the #1 seed, your chances of being beaten are great in this district and im pretty positive the mighty war eagles arent the #1 seed. Cheatham beat the war eagles by 20 points, so if bolivar and the aa powerhouses can name their score against cheatham, does that mean sycamore doesnt even belong on the court? NO! I think cheatham stunk it up tonight. They didnt take care of the ball while they were up 7 with 2 30 left. Its almost like they mkae progress for a couple of games, then go back to playing how they did when they were freshmen or sophomores. They dont play with much heart and wont do anything in the district tourney until they can play every game how they have against waverly and stewart county. Your absolutely right, i was definitely going to cry. I was just about to ball my eyes out.

since when am i contradicting myself. I never said sycamore is horrible but i have said they are not as good as last year and theyre not. You play on the team and you know it. ALso, during the cubs losing streak they did play horrible in every game but 1 and that was to the #1 team in the state! If they were playing anyone else they wouldve won. losing several games will wear on you and make you wonder whats going on but cheatham has never thought of how they will lose the next game. They forget about the game and prepare and think of how they will win the next game. Noel is the best shooter in the state, this game proves it and as the games get bigger down the stretch the whole team will start to play better.

What gives is the incredibly tough schedule they played going into and throughout christmas break. They are now back on track with a loss to district fav. waverly by 2 and a 50 point win over stewart county.

They wont beat anyone from 10-aaa at home.
