  1. You said it perfect,, The coach at McMinn does not have any class. From were I was sitting you could tell it really bothered him deeply! The School officials needs to look into the conduit and either stop him from having no class or get the upper officials involved. I was disappointed in his actions but I have to say that the Lady Cherokees that did get to play did a great job. They were just tired at the end of the ballgame. I do hope the best for them but in the same sentence, this coach needs his hand spanked for no class that he is showing. :thumb:

His hand spanked? Wow, that is some impressive punishment. Some may enjoy such, you know?

  2. They are a different team then last year but they might end up better then last year's team. They are lead by 5 sinors that play a big role in last years team and they blew out McMinn Cen.(which was #2 in AA) and beat a good Oliver Springs by 15 and killed a AAA team ###### County @ CC, but still are a long way from playin there best basketball. That substate game was the worst game I saw PF play. if they would have played there best they would have won by 25, but that was last year and it's a new year for them now

I hate to be the old "bearer of bad news," but PF should take little, if any satisfaction from placing an L upon McMinn Central, the supposed #2 in AA (from where do you get such rankings?). The McMinn Central team that was defeated by the 5 "sinors" from the land of Christmas lights, outlet malls, and well endowed country singers was playing its first game after having lost 80% of both its scoring and rebounding via the graduation of 3 of its own "sinors" (is this Sevier County spelling?). Not that Pigeon Forge isn't a competent team. It is simply that this victory can say little about their true ability. One should pass judgment a bit later.

  3. Well, I'm sure there have certainly been a number of applicants for such an illustrious position that carries such incredible exposure. The overwhelming pressure of leading these Bears that rest on the banks of the Tellico River is probably equivalent or beyond that faced by Lovie Smith on the banks of Lake Michigan. I've forgotten, someone fill me in, with which of these "mammal" teams did George Halas play such a tremendous role??? (Sarcasm is always lost via key strokes)

But truthfully, I would equate the football coaching position at Tellico Plains High School to the position of a Japanese fighter pilot in the waning days of the Pacific Theater. No, my dear lads, kamikaze isn't simply a shot at Cotton Eyed Joe's.

  4. No, it was started because someone from Polk voiced thier opinion about their team and you started runnin your mouth bout how it would never happen.

People thought the Colt's gettin beat would never happen.

People thought "the curse of the bambino" would never be broken.

But if your lookin on the high school level, look no farther than last years football season. Fulton, defending 3a champs, Barely sneaks into the playoffs. Livingston makes the playoffs a 4th seed, 5-5 team only to go on to win the state championship. South Pitt goes 10-2, only losses are to state champs Trousdale Co., with the youngest team in school history. Dyersburg losing to a 2-8 team in the first round. The list goes on and on...

I'm in no way saying Polk will beat Central, but you can't just say it WON'T happen. Thats why they play, and if you played a sport like you say you did then you would know that.

Calling people and schools trash really doesn't say much for yourself or your school, no matter what your record is in any sport.

Great little passionate (albeit useless) argument. Please don't butcher the English language anymore. Apostrophes express ownership or contractions, not plural. The professional football team located in central Indiana is the Indianapolis COLTS (not Colt's).

And if Polk Co. defeats McMinn Central in basketball in 2006, prepare for a rising from graves for the end has truly arrived.

  5. McMinn played without their point guard (Frazier). They go to pieces when she's not in game. Their bench is very suspect and they usually only play 5 players the entire game.

Funny, I thought they always went to pieces when she WAS in the game. Everything colored black and gold in District 5-AAA that has anything to do with basketball, men's or women's, is suspect, not just the Lady Cherokees bench.

Will the Earth temporarily stop while the incredible underachieving of Walker Valley and McMinn butts heads on Monday evening? I hope the wreckage isn't overcoming.

  6. I'm glad you set me straight if it were not for the Blue Nation we would all not have a clue as regards Bball, but luckily we have you to keep us all in line.

By the way I could care less whether CHS or MCHS wins the game.

However It was posts by those of the Blue talking about CHS and identifying players by specific numbers and claiming that they were dirty players.

Again the group of Freshmen /or Fire players have a reputation for playing beyond just physical play so don't post here crying about that!

Anyway good luck to both teams in their districts!

I want to take this opportunity to do some more of the "setting straight." I'm not a member of this "Blue Nation" of which you speak, and I do appreciate you approving my post by stressing that you "could care less whether CHS or MCHS wins the game."

Beyond that, the post in reference to the "dirty play" of number 15 was indeed uncalled for. However, it is a great fallacy to express your dismay with another's argument by attempting to say that the opposing side has a similar tendency, in this instance, for "dirty play." That is not unlike saying that it is OK to rob a bank because it's been done before.

How was Chicago? Was there any "dirty play" there? Was the officiating pristine?

  7. Central's hopes are definitely alive after the big win against Cleveland. They seem to be coming together as a team.

It could be the underdogs they will win the state this year.

    GO LADYS!

Surely that is a typographical error. You don't REALLY believe that McMinn Central will win the state in Women's basketball, do you? Now, now, calm down. Coming together as a team is one thing, winning your final 5 games against better teams away from your home is a much different one.

  8. I can't believe that anyone involved with the McMinn fire or the Central Freshmen would talk about another team being dirty or too physical. The Central Freshmen / McMinn Fire group have a reputation for playing that way. So just understand that when someone does it back no ones feeling sorry for that group. And 50 fouls shots would seem like the refs must been calling fouls on the Cleveland players even when they were on the bench and already fouled out.

When you come back from that large a hole at home and have that many fouls called I don't think crying about the refs and the other team seem logical.

WOW, it always goes back to McMinn Fire. Is that a Junior High School in McMinn County? The reality is that when a AA squad defeats a AAA squad when the result of the first game between the two was a 40 pt. win for the AAA team, there always seems to be an incredible amount backlash from the defeated team. Comments like "the game doesn't matter" or "you got all the calls" begin to surface. I believe that when you win, that is THE ONLY time you should state complaints about officiating. Otherwise, it is the epitome of losing sorely.

In the end, only one question should be asked and that is this: "Do the Cleveland Lady Raiders need to drive 600+ plus miles to the Windy City to suffer a loss or could they just simply travel 38 miles to Englewood to chalk up that L?" Sometimes high expecations breed underachievement.

Oh yes, and let us not mistake defensive intensity for "dirty" play. Get tougher, I'm sure Chicago expected it.

  9. Don't think that little outburst was really necessary...but ok...Central won both games...bottom line...

Devoting 10 pages of a board to random cries for/against Polk County basketball is not something of grand necessity either. Thanks for your input.

  10. A word of wisdom: If one team shoots over 30 free throws in a game, it is an officiating debacle or a prison team was participating in the competition. With that being said, McMinn Central shot 50.

Of course, this should be read with the unmentioned disclaimer that this was again a performance by the great officials that rear their ugly (and large) heads in every District 5 basketball performance north of Cleveland.

Thanks officials, for all that you do. I don't know what would be done without you, but it would sure take less time and less would be seen of you.

  11. What was the score of tonight's game?

I thought you were the Central girls' assistant? I'm mistaken again...or ARE you the Central girls' assistant???? Maybe you were so giddy from the victory that you had to go find Coach Q from McMinn County and let him know of the summit which you had reached, thus leaving before the clock expired on the boys' contest. This is indeed a HEAVY question to which the answer may never be discovered.

  12. well we have STATE TITLE, do you'll?????? Thats exactly what i thought so it looks like our coach knows a little, How about Morgan? all the times he has been to Mboro he chokes, Armstrong?????? dont have the coaching skills to get past the good teams. so it looks like Davis knows a little about the game.......

Just a question for you: Does Christ strengthen you to make personal judgments? If so, it is a different Christ than the one with which I am familiar.

  13. Is peaceoff20 the screenname of this assistant ladies' coach at McMinn Central that always seems to be the brunt of the criticism of recruiting? This person, whoever he may be, has a bit of a heated reaction for CoachQ's snide little remarks. Seems to be personally offended.

Can there be another Donnybrook of 2006 that involves Central's girl's assistant/peaceoff20 and Coach Quirk/CoachQ. Who has the weight advantage? We know Jerry is a great sprinter. Does Central's assistant have any claim to fame? What is it? Quick, we must analyze this fight before Tuesday night so our bookies can do their work.

  14. Well that is just about embarrassing for the lady cherokees. What is the sam hill happened? Walker Valley, Cleveland and everybody else that has played OHS has had no trouble. To be a good team you have to play more than five players. I have seen the ladies play now on four occasions and could have ever only seen six players enter the game.

I have but one question: Who is this man they call Sam Hill Happened? Or is it a code word for location? I'm lost.

  15. This amazing epidemic of underachieving is making headway into McMinn County High School. CREE, you should be very wary of this, it could strike your program next. You people should listen...I kid not.

With that said, why isn't more being made of this debacle that is 5-AAA Women's basketball? Shouldn't COACHQ or HUCK make an appearance now to explain this chaos? Or perhaps, Ladycherokee? It's acceptable to be the proponent of possibly one blown loss to a team that is your equal? Oh wait, are the Lady Owls the Lady Cherokees equal? I believe the answer lies in wait...come on ladies...tells us. If I went to McMinn County High, I'd convert my aliegence (and transcript) to McMinn Central.

  16. I'm a history major. That's the one part I got. But bringing up how Egil Skallagrimsson raveged Iceland wouldn't help you or anyone else who didn't take Viking History. Most people are about as familiar with Viking History as they are the Gilded Age.

A clap must be given for your excellent use of trivial knowledge. I, too, enjoy using my trivial knowledge to wow the participants.

However, when you gain your degree, young student, call back. The status you pursue, I've already obtained.

And again, those who need know do know.
