  1. Better remove the Mcminn v Mcminn Central game... Apparently Mcminn County only has 12 players so they had to cancel.. Hope all get better before playoffs start
  2. As we get ready to start the second week of soccer practice, how was the first week? Did the players report in shape? How did your team handle the extreme heat? Did your team have 2 a days? Matches will begin soon! Can't wait.
  3. what are the rules of the blind draw?
  4. clinton has as much of a chance to "take it to state" as sweetwater.
  5. I hate to be the old "bearer of bad news," but PF should take little, if any satisfaction from placing an L upon McMinn Central, the supposed #2 in AA (from where do you get such rankings?). The McMinn Central team that was defeated by the 5 "sinors" from the land of Christmas lights, outlet malls, and well endowed country singers was playing its first game after having lost 80% of both its scoring and rebounding via the graduation of 3 of its own "sinors" (is this Sevier County spelling?). Not that Pigeon Forge isn't a competent team. It is simply that this victory can say little about their true ability. One should pass judgment a bit later.
  6. If the papacy couldn't redirect Bradley football, who can?
  7. Well, I'm sure there have certainly been a number of applicants for such an illustrious position that carries such incredible exposure. The overwhelming pressure of leading these Bears that rest on the banks of the Tellico River is probably equivalent or beyond that faced by Lovie Smith on the banks of Lake Michigan. I've forgotten, someone fill me in, with which of these "mammal" teams did George Halas play such a tremendous role??? (Sarcasm is always lost via key strokes) But truthfully, I would equate the football coaching position at Tellico Plains High School to the position of a Japanese fighter pilot in the waning days of the Pacific Theater. No, my dear lads, kamikaze isn't simply a shot at Cotton Eyed Joe's.
  8. Great little passionate (albeit useless) argument. Please don't butcher the English language anymore. Apostrophes express ownership or contractions, not plural. The professional football team located in central Indiana is the Indianapolis COLTS (not Colt's). And if Polk Co. defeats McMinn Central in basketball in 2006, prepare for a rising from graves for the end has truly arrived.
  9. Funny, I thought they always went to pieces when she WAS in the game. Everything colored black and gold in District 5-AAA that has anything to do with basketball, men's or women's, is suspect, not just the Lady Cherokees bench. Will the Earth temporarily stop while the incredible underachieving of Walker Valley and McMinn butts heads on Monday evening? I hope the wreckage isn't overcoming.
  10. I want to take this opportunity to do some more of the "setting straight." I'm not a member of this "Blue Nation" of which you speak, and I do appreciate you approving my post by stressing that you "could care less whether CHS or MCHS wins the game." Beyond that, the post in reference to the "dirty play" of number 15 was indeed uncalled for. However, it is a great fallacy to express your dismay with another's argument by attempting to say that the opposing side has a similar tendency, in this instance, for "dirty play." That is not unlike saying that it is OK to rob a bank because it's been done before. How was Chicago? Was there any "dirty play" there? Was the officiating pristine?
  11. Surely that is a typographical error. You don't REALLY believe that McMinn Central will win the state in Women's basketball, do you? Now, now, calm down. Coming together as a team is one thing, winning your final 5 games against better teams away from your home is a much different one.
  12. WOW, it always goes back to McMinn Fire. Is that a Junior High School in McMinn County? The reality is that when a AA squad defeats a AAA squad when the result of the first game between the two was a 40 pt. win for the AAA team, there always seems to be an incredible amount backlash from the defeated team. Comments like "the game doesn't matter" or "you got all the calls" begin to surface. I believe that when you win, that is THE ONLY time you should state complaints about officiating. Otherwise, it is the epitome of losing sorely. In the end, only one question should be asked and that is this: "Do the Cleveland Lady Raiders need to drive 600+ plus miles to the Windy City to suffer a loss or could they just simply travel 38 miles to Englewood to chalk up that L?" Sometimes high expecations breed underachievement. Oh yes, and let us not mistake defensive intensity for "dirty" play. Get tougher, I'm sure Chicago expected it.
  13. Devoting 10 pages of a board to random cries for/against Polk County basketball is not something of grand necessity either. Thanks for your input.
  14. A word of wisdom: If one team shoots over 30 free throws in a game, it is an officiating debacle or a prison team was participating in the competition. With that being said, McMinn Central shot 50. Of course, this should be read with the unmentioned disclaimer that this was again a performance by the great officials that rear their ugly (and large) heads in every District 5 basketball performance north of Cleveland. Thanks officials, for all that you do. I don't know what would be done without you, but it would sure take less time and less would be seen of you.
