  1. Markese Nelson of Oakhaven/Kirby should have. He was a state qualifier his 8th grade year, placed in state his freshman year, was ranked 1st in the state his sophomore year but was DQ'ed in the regional finals, and won state his junior and senior years.
  2. Bryant wrestled a JV match. Basically anyone that wrestled that team should be credited with two dual meet victories, one vs White Station and one vs Millington. They weren't so much a combined team but two teams that could not fill a full roster so they sat on the same bench. They arranged to have certain kids there in different weight classes so that they would all get to wrestle.
  3. Then the next year Leen and Ryan Scott did it each ending with 4 state championships.
  4. We had three possible. One broke his ribs on the night of his first wrestling practice during a soccer game. The second one wussed out after the first day. He was a natural athlete that runs CC. He also had a background in wrestling from VA. The third one we were looking at came to a match but never made it to practice.
  5. My "cousin" is an assistant with Hillcrest, Robert Delgado. Ask him about me if you get the chance.
  6. Because teams have to use tournament dates out of their calendar to attend the Ironman or any other event. Red Bank was able to do this for their program and star 160. That is admirable of them. Other programs may not have the wiggle room in their schedules to allow for individuals to attend some tournaments while the rest of the team sits or those individuals simply weren't invited. By TSSAA rule teams are limited to 3 two-day tournaments in their schedules. For example, our team hosts the Black Horse Invitational and go to the Bradley and Father Ryan Invitationals. In order to send a kid to the Ironman we would have to drop one of those events to make room in the schedule.

  11. He was not at the tournament. He is receovering from an injury. He should be back on the mat soon enough.
  12. We are always looking to promote out product and get more quality teams to travel out west. Elvis Pressley's Graceland, Renezvous Ribs, Beale Street and The Belmont are all great reasons to visit Memphis. With end times of 9:35 and 6:00 you would still have time to do those things. For Chatt teams that want to drive home they would be home around midnight.
  13. We've tried that before and it didn't sell. We might revisit it in the future.
  14. They have wrestled 4 times, always close matches. Wright won the previous 3 matches. Prince won this one. Prince is one of the best wrestlers in Alabama.
  15. For those that do not want to be in the gym until midnight the Black Horse Invitational was out at 9:35 Friday night. Saturday we were completey done at 6:00 pm. We are always looking for East TN teams to come in for the weekend.

  22. BayouBear, I'll be certain to bring some old Jerry Lawler, Bill Dundee and Freebirds tapes when we come down in a couple of weeks. I also have the infamous "concession stand match" on VHS. My kids always look forward to spending quality time with the Bradley kids in front of the TV. We were also considering lacrosses but I don't trust my wrestlers with sticks.
