  1. Sorry about the confusion Robjim, but I was wanting your opinions about DCA. I'm going to watch the game between DCA and Wayne County this week. I've seen some region 6A games, and I'm familiar with CPA but not with DCA. As for the pressbox in Mt. Pleasant, expect it to be really loud. Especially if the Tigers play well. Thanks for any info. that you have.
  2. Mt. Pleasant uses the home field quite to its advantage. Expect music to be blaring from the PA system and the fans to be rowdy. Mt. Pleasant has a lot of athleticism, but it lacks CPA's experience. If CPA doesn't turn the ball over, then CPA is a winner. I'm not convinced that Mt. Pleasant can contain a really good passing attack. Also, it hurts the Tigers a bit to have played somewhat inferior competition all year. I feel like CPA's schedule has been much more difficult. Robjim -- I'm somewhat familiar with CPA, but I don't know that much about DCA. I'm planning on watching them play this week. What types of things can I expect to see on offense? I hear they have a lot of athletes. Thanks
  3. Does Lewis Co. have a radio station that will carry this game? If so, what station would be carrying it?
  4. What type of team will the Panthers have this season? Who is going to take over for Sharp at QB? What about that fullback from last season? I forgot his name, but he seemed to be an effective runner. I am sure that Coach Sharp will have another good or great team as usual, but I was just hoping to get some insight on this year's team.
  5. Was this game postponed? I haven't seen a score yet.
  6. I'd have to say that Shelby County has the best high school basketball.
  7. Mt. Pleasant isn't in the Top Ten teams in Class A in Tennessee. It's as simple as that. I've seen them play a few times. Some times it is tough to tell how a good a team is because they are playing inferior competition. While the top teams in 12A can play a little, the bottom teams are not very good. Even some of the upper teams are up and down. When Mt. Pleasant beats someone that is pretty good (I don't mean Summertown) then maybe they deserve their ranking. In fact, I'll be surprised if they beat Summertown at Mt. Pleasant. Anyway, the rankings are tough as mentioned previously in this thread. It is virtually impossible for the voters to see the teams that they are voting on.
  8. I haven't seen PC play in a few games...but everyone in Linden is overly excited after this recent winning streak...however, if Summertown will play a smart game, then from what I've seen they've got the better team...I have no doubts that it'll be close...but I'm going to go with Summertown...especially if they utilize James in the post.
  9. How good is Summertown? I checked their record and it isn't as good as I usually expect it to be...what are there chances come tourney time?
  10. The relevance of polls can be debated throughout all sports from college through high school. While there seems to be a slight bit of relevance in college polls (TV allows voters the chance to see virtually all teams), it has absolutely no relevance to high schools (if you want to truly rank the best teams). There is no way that the people who vote on these polls get to see the teams that they are voting into positions. Consequently, many teams get left off. Does it matter? No. I just get tired of hearing teams boast of their ranking when it is completely unearned. I don't get to see much AA or AAA basketball in the state. I mostly watch Class A ball. Mt. Pleasant's ranking of number 3 is ridiculous. They have one consistent shooter (and that is arguable). If they don't get offensive putbacks, then they aren't going to score on the offensive end. Most of the media members (or whomever votes) don't circulate out from the bigger cities. I am glad that there are tournaments at the end of the year and a Champion emerges (clear cut). BUT, please quit bringing up a team's ranking.
  11. The heart of the district season is just about upon us...it seems that from everyone's opinion that wayne co. is the team to beat...i haven't heard anything about summertown this year...i've read something on here about clifton, mt. pleasant, and perry co...but the summertown front has been cool...are they ready to challenge for the district title...also, where is the district and region going to be played this year?
  12. Hammack should definitely add some depth to Wayne Co's team...Ruddle hasn't played in awhile, so it might take him more time to get ready to log significant minutes...one thing is for sure, depth is usually not a luxury that Wayne Co. has and the addition of these two can help alleviate some problems in that area...the addition of these players should also help in practice...when you have a second five that can really challenge the first five then it helps when working on offense and defense preparations in practice. I don't see the same thing in attitude of these two that has been mentioned...so Wayne Co. should be improved...
