Wasn't this all talked out last year at about this same time? Seems like the full story was described by someone who knew and it didn't involve any cheating by anyone, just misunderstandings about what is counted as a seat and what is not.

I thought Coalfield's star pitcher was a Freshman last year? Was she just an eigth grader last year?

Actually, I think your catcher ended the game with a catch of a popup foul ball. She made some good plays including the diving catch and throwing out a runner stealing 2nd. I hope the Bobcats take care of business today and get another shot at Coalfield. Championship of this district is extra important, no one wants to travel to Midway for the their region game.

Today's games in the D4A tournament: Wartburg vs Sunbright (3:30, I think) Oliver Springs vs Coalfield 5:30 I think/hope the Oliver Springs vs Coalfield game is a good one. Other than the first inning of each of the two regular season games O.S. has played with Coalfield. In the first game, O.S. gave up 10 runs in the first and then both teams only scored 1 each the rest of the game. In the second game O.S. gave up 5 or 6 in the first and then made it a game at 8-10 by the end. So I think this will be a good one.

And for Oliver Springs, I was givin this revised schedule this morning: Thu 3/20 7:00 cst Oliver Springs vs Gallatin at Gallatin Fri 3/21 12:00 cst Oliver Springs vs Ripley at Gallatin (or at Station Camp, I'm not clear on this one) Fri 3/21 2:30 cst Oliver Springs vs Creek Wood at Statiion Camp Sat 3/22 11:00 cst Oliver Springs vs White House at White House

Congrats to Coalfield, but I don't know if you should be making reservations in Murfreesboro just yet. There's no question that Coalfield has looked pretty impressive the last few games and they absolutely have the advantage at this point, but I wouldn't count O.S. or Sunbright either one out just yet. We (O.S.) have not been playing well for a while now, but we have still managed to win when we had to. Sunbright has been an up and down team all year. I think whoever wins tonight certainly has a chance to beat Coalfield tomorrow. It won't be a gimme for Coalfield, that's for sure. Good luck to everyone!

I guess if Oakdale beats Wartburg, or Oneida beats Coalfield, you could call them upsets, but at this point, the outcome of any game between OS, Wartburg, Sunbright or Coalfield probably wouldn't be called an upset. It's one of those deals where all of those teams have lost to someone who beat someone they beat and vice versa. The tournament should be pretty interesting. Good luck to everyone.

I would say the D4 tournament will be the best to watch, there's definatly a lot of incentive to not come in 2nd in this one. I'm pulling for Oliver Springs, but I don't think it will be easy. We haven't been all that impressive so far, but have won the games we needed to. I really don't see anyone challanging Rockwood in the D3 tournament unless maybe Harriman gets hot.

OS at Sunbright was originally scheduled for next Monday, but got changed to yesterday and then got rained out. Now it's scheduled for Wed at OS at 4:30. I'm not sure why it got moved to OS. I doubt Sunbright would object much since they beat us on our field the first time... It should be a good game. I wish someone would fill in the stuff missing from their schedules so we could see where we are.

So which one was it, did Coalfield beat Sunbright 12-1 like this post says, or did Sunbright beat Coalfield 4-3 like the scoreboard/results says?

I guess I was asleep. Yes, it is Summertown and it's the 2nd game, so it will be played (according to the notes on the tssaa bracket) "approx 45 minutes after the conclusion of the first game" So it will probably be around 12:30 or 1:00 when the cats play.

According to the brackets at Class A State Baseball Tournament, Oliver Springs will play Summerville at 10:00 AM Tuesday at Siegel High School in Murfreesboro

It was a good game. Sunbright came from being behind 3-7 in the 4th or 5th inning , and got up 10-7, Then O.S. went up 12-10 (started with a 3 run home run by Brent Kelley) in the top of the 7th and then Sunbright tied it up in the bottom half. Then O.S. scored 3 in the top of the 8th and held on to win 15-12.

If you are asking about the Highland Rim tournament it's not until next Friday and Saturday. The game scheduled with Sequoyah today has been cancelled.
