  1. Can you say biased? Man, Waverly people are starting to sound like the Giles County fans. Cheatham is rolling right now, they are playing solid ball on both sides. Anyway. Cheatham wins in a close one. I believe Noel will lead his team to victory. Why did you bring up Ricco anyway? Does this thread have anything to do with him? NO!
  2. Why? Why must you constantly start crap? Someone just asked to give a breakdown, and you had to deliberately take a shot at Sycamore.
  3. It was a very exciting game to watch. The second time in two years that these two teams have faced each other and went to overtime. Noel Smith is an excellent ball player, but if Cheatham wants to go far in the tourney then he has to have some help. Sycamore looked good after a low scoring first. Moulton game off the bench to give Sycamore a spark as he finished with 20 pts. As everything else in life with something good come something bad. I saw a couple of bad things in this game. I lost some respect for the Cheatham basketball team last night. The reason is that every time that Bullard backed one of them down, a Cheatham player flopped ( pulled the ol' Vlade Divac). Be real men and play defense instead of trying to get a call by acting like someone mawled you. The only other incident was a player from Cheatham ( I believe it was Brian Moss) threw the ball at the back of a Sycamore player when he wasn't looking. Overall the game was well played and hard faught. I hope these two teams meet again.
  4. That is exactly what happened in the first game. Sycamore was focused on Smith, and Brink just lit it up. If Sycamore can control the ball and knock their shots down, Sycamore can pull this one out.
  5. Pretty funny on the cool kids thing there wneely. Anyway, yeah espn did rank Kansas as number one, but SI ranked UNC as number one. That is why I stated that what I did.
  6. Kansas was not the preseason #1, UNC was. If he likes playing close to home, that is understandable. If academics are the problem I am sure every college has developmental courses to help out. Tyler is a good ball player, I have seen him play against some of the best. If Tyler wants a shot at playing in the NBA he needs to attend UT for a couple of years, get his GPA and his stats up. If he is able to do those things then Tyler should transfer to a big basketball school to get recognized more.
  7. Ok question coming that needs to be answered. If T Smith is so great, then why is he not going to a better D 1 school? I am just curious, because the way you people talk, he should be going to Duke or UNC.
  8. Yeah the Gym Nazi was @ Stewart County last season. I remember him trying to get us kicked out of the game, because our student section was making too much noise. HAHA Can't wait to see what he is gonna do come tourney time.
  9. Well I was impressed with Ricco's play, as always. The kid's nickname should be "The Matrix" because he hangs in the air forever. As for the rest of the Waverly team, I did not how everyone said they were so "great." Sycamore has really turned it around since the beginning of the year. Statebound, I applaud they way your team game back in the third quarter after Waverly went on a run. Big Jon played well in the first half, but was nonexsistent in the second. Bullard made some nice moves down low all game and finished strong on most of them. I hope Sycamore can come out with the same amount of energy as they did last night.
  10. Wneely you could be right. Sycamore could lose by 30, or Sycamore could win by single digits. It all depends on which Sycamore basketball team comes to play. Hopefully, the Sycamore team i have seen in the past will show up and make it a close game. "Who can guard Ricco? Maybe Louis Williams in Georgia, or even Richard Hendrix in Athens, but no one in Tennessee " Don't you think TSmith would be able to guard him?
  11. If he doesn't cost his team points in critical times, then what has happened in the post season for the past two years?
  12. Before you try ripping on someone's comments, read before you post. I was in defense of my team, thanks. Oh and sportsfanatic if you are going to try to tell me what to do, then learn how to type and spell...some college you go to... Noel is a good player yes, but he takes shots that he does not have to and it cost his team points in critical times. I know what I am talkin about, because i have played with Noel and against him. Sportsfanatic for knowing nothing of either teams you sure do have some strong opinions for knowing so little.
  13. Let's look back at the past three seasons of Sycamore basketball. All three seasons started terrible for the War Eagles, all three ended up in substate appearances and back to back district championships. Just wait, Sycamore will be there in the end. I saw Noel square up, and curl off a screen and take a three and missed them, so obviously it is not as pure as a free throw. Don't get me wrong, but Noel is a good player, but y'all put too much hype on the kid. I didn't know you could predict the future Cosmo.
  14. I love Cheatham people! They say one thing but then go against their words...can you say hypocrite? Seth we could go on about football from the past few years between Sycamore/Cheatham, and Sycamore would come out on top. Back to BASKETBALL. Any forced shot is a bad shot, no matter who the player is...even the great Noel Smith. I saw him unnecessarily shoot a ball last night from 6 feet beyond the 3-point line and miss when his team had numbers. How can you say that is not a bad shot? Can't wait to see the second game between these two teams.
  15. Shut up HLfan, you are just makin an idiot of yourself. Football is over, we won ( big deal). It is basketball season so focus on it!
  16. I liked how you said to drop the football stuff, after you went on for a while about football.. Good job buddy! Back to basketball. Sycamore has all the talent to get where they need to be, the one thing that Sycamore lacks is UNITY. Everyone on that team is looking to improve his numbers. The one thing bad I noticed last night about Noel Smith is that he takes shots when he does not have to. He even likes to force shots sometimes. Great game all around, until some idiodic Cheatham fan threw something at the ref...WHAT CLASS! Good win for Cheatham, Sycamore needs to turn it around.
  17. To be the champs you have to beat them when the time counts. Until someone takes down Sycamore in tourney time, Sycamore is still the champs. thumb
  18. I always remember Sycamore having a great Pep Club. Last Year's Sixth Man was the best the school had ever seen, there was a huge crowd at every game, we were loud all the time, and we were just obnoxious. Man do i miss that! Can anyone from Sycamore tell me if they have a Pep Club anymore?
  19. With a post like that, you should never be able to post again. Sissy Smith!? I am a graduate of Sycamore, and even played against Noel Smith. Noel is a great player. He gives it his all every night. He can hit from ANYWHERE on the court. If you "shut him down" then he will be dishin assists out all night. Who does harpeth have that can shut Noel down? Harpeth was dismantled after last season. Your two best players are gone! What are they going to do?
  20. Sycamore/Waverly- Guys. Both teams have the experience to get them where they need to be. Cheatham girls will roll through this district, although i hate to say it. They have a strong team, as long as Casey Attebury (spelling?) is on that team, Cheatham will do well.
  21. Statebound, When does your season actually start? I hope the Sixth Man is as good as my graduating class was last year. It will be hard to top us. Good luck on the season.
  22. Very classy of Huntingdon to take the knee. Major props to the Mustangs.
  23. Yeah you would post something like that, seeming that you are a yankees fan!....Sissy Sycamore team? i don't know what team you have seen, but Sycamore was without a doubt not a sissy team, just a fiesty one. Good luck to Greenbrier tonight.
  24. When is the first Cheatham vs. Sycamore game this season? I do believe I will have to make a trip from Murfreesboro to see this one!
  25. Will they know how to win in close games? Now Mr. Bowers you know that answer for yourself. Out of the starting five this year, four played in the championship game against your Cub's, and came away with a victory. So just sit there and ask yourself that same question again. Speaking of pressure, how will Noel handle the pressure of having to carry that team all year. He did not have to carry the team last year in the championship game, but he still did not come up with the big shots. Look for Sycamore to get close to setting a state record for most 3's attempted. How is Big John lookin statebound?
