The rest is how it appears in the newspaper.
  3. Bolton High School is coming from West TN.
  4. I'm new to college wrestling. How do you get the webcast? We, the boys and I, have been trying to talk their dad into going to OK after our tournament here in Memphis on Saturday to watch the match, unsuccessful so far, so we would love to watch it some way.
  5. Clayton Perkins graduated last year from Bolton.
  6. Also from the West, Jim Buesgens, Jim Smith, Tim Hannah, and Pete and John Faulkum
  7. Tim Hannah's correct phone number is 901-867-3283.
  8. $6 a session. Today it was $25 for the whole tournament.
  9. every match is up on the TSSAA website.
  10. Josh wrestled a few matches after Black Horse. He wrestled at the Dickson Co. Tournament, took 2nd. Around that time (right about Christmas) he had to stop and underwent physical therapy. He was able to come back and wreslte Bartlett (he pinned 2:17) and then Germentown he was reinjured. Most likely he had these injuries the whole time and was not letting on as to the pain he was in for the love of wrestling. He has been out since the Germantown match on Jan. 15. One bad part is that he was trying his hardest to recover for our home tournament, Wildcat. The Dr. told him he could wreslte one match a day and ice before and after then he would be able to wreslte in our tourn. He was taken out 2 days before Wildcat.
  11. Div 1 weighs in at 2pm and wrestles at 4pm Thursday
  12. Well thank you for saying that. We will look for you. I forgot you asked about the compitition in the college age division. So far we have not had a lot of guys in each weight class. We have been growing each year, so hopefully we will have mor this year. I will have to get you to ask my husband what the numbers were as I do not pay much attention to that type thing. I just want everyone to come and have a good time wrestling. We are holding this tournament earlier and we have been trying to get the word out more this year. Hopefully we have done a decent job of it and will have more turn out. I'm sure ya'll realize that even if you qualify for VA you do not have to go. However it is a great tournament. We went two years ago and it was awesome and had wrestlers from all over the country. Last year the boys choose to go to church camp (same week and one had a girlfriend there), so we missed it. However they missed it and are planning on going this year.
  13. Well then, when I meet you in Chattanooga, I will have to ask you about a comment your brother made about him. Nothing worth posting, just a comment that I have always wanted explained. It is no big deal, not upset, just curious. I will have lots of flyers about our tournament there so please make sure to get as many as you need. I am in the middle of printing off the last of 400 now.
  14. No he started wrestling 112 near the end of last season. He was 112 all this season. He was 103 his first 2 1/2 years. His injury was started at Black Horse when the guy basically pulled his arm out of the socket. From then on it popped out several times.
  15. He'll get a kick out of your comments. I was right though wasn't I? You did think my husband was a different man, didn't you? We are true blue Bolton fans. You should see my husband at the football games. The boys no longer play football but he still grills for the football team's concession stand. He is the one who started everyone using cowbells.
  16. Josh had surgery last Wed. for his shoulder. They had to fold and stitch the tendent that spirals around and hold in your sholder. They had to do this on the front and back. While in there they saw that he also had a torn rotary(sp?) cuff so they had to fix that as well. He went back to school today. He is still in a good bit of pain. He was very glad to hear that so many people were inquiring about him.
  17. BOTW, I am TJ's (& RIley's) mom, as I'm sure you know. However, based on comments made on other threads, I think you think a different man is my husband. I think you think my husband is a Bolton dad with black hair. My husband is a redhead. As far as him wreslting, who knows. I think he may retire undefeated.
  18. DannyT, check out the "Post Season Tournaments" thread. We have a tournament at Bolton High (Memphis area), March 13. Your son is really one year younger then our registration states, however he can always wrestle up if you feel he is able. Our lowest weight-class is 55 lbs. Just something to consider.
  19. Our tournament is very relaxed. You can definitly wrestle and coach. I forgot to mention that singlets are required by NHSCA but it can not be a school singlet. Last year a few people wore their school singlets inside-out. If you just can't get a singlet we at Bolton will let you wrestle in your tee-shirt and shorts, however they will be required at VA. My husband says you do NOT have to have a coaches card for Bolton's tournament. At VA you do have to get a coaches wristband or card(something) to go on the floor with the boys. You just get in the coaches line at registration/weigh-ins. Last year we had some dads get out on the mat. It was great and very encouraging for the boys to see dads out there. One dad had to quite one match away from first place, because he was wore out. But he enjoyed gettting out there. My husband was the champ at 184. Funny story, you'll have to ask me in person.
  20. I will check with my husband on if you need a coaches card for the Bolton tourn. I know that when we went to VA you stood in a different line and paid for a coaches card. I will get that info. and post in the morning. This is not a USA wrestling tournament.
  21. Bolton's NHSCA tournament This is our third year holding this tournament, so we are still trying to help it grow. Every year it gets bigger. I know that Bolton's middle school coach gave out applications to all his wrestlers at their end of season banquet a couple weeks ago and he has a large group. But the tournament is open to anyone, even those from different states. For now it has been mostly local wrestlers, but we are trying to do more advertising. We are also holding it much earlier so hopefully everyone is still in a wrestling frame of mind. My boys went to VA a couple years ago. It is similar to state here. Very large arena with excellent wrestlers. They start with a big parade around the mats with banners locating every state. I remember CBHS brought several wrestlers to VA.
  22. Was watching Disney channel tonight and saw a commercial for a Disney original movie coming in March. I'm bad with names (as you know) but I think it was called "Take it to the Mat." In the commercial it looked like some good action.
  23. Bolton High School is hosting the NHSCA tournament on March 13, 2004, Registration from 8-10, Wrestling begins at 11. Top 4 qualify to wrestle at Nationals in Virginia Beach the beginning of July. We handed out flyers at Region 8 champs this past weekend. We will have them with us at State. We should have the application available online at http://boltonwrestling.tripod.com
  24. Coach, Does that mean that the wrestler can only wrestle what is posted on TSSAA and one above? Or do you mean they will post the lowest allowable, however the wrestler may be weighing more and never go down that low?
  25. Question along this line. You have two officials on the mat. The coach then loudly objects to a final, match winning call. The head official talks with the coach beside the mat, not at the table. Then changes his call, in favor of the coach's wrestler, and never confers with the assistant official. Is this right or wrong? I really do not know the procedure, but it would seem to me that the coach should have been told to be quite and the two officials should have talked to make the decision. This happened a few years ago, and I have always wondered what the proper procedure should have been. PS My son was not involved.
