  1. Unaka has several things to work out and it's going to take them a year or so. Regarding the coaches........ they have a good one up there who's working with the Freshman, but the others ones are a joke, the head coach worries way too much about what he looks like and the other one..... no one likes him or respects him....

    Just my $0.02 worth

  2. They are tough!

Another thing I've noticed about this group of girls is that they are a TEAM. While watching them warm up or in the hallways before the game they are all high-fiving each other, talking it up etc. I've only seen them play two times but it was same mentality before both games, you can see it when they come out on the floor.

How far will they go, nobody knows but they'll definiltey go down fighting IF they go down.

  3. CLASS ACT THEY ARE AND YOU GOT TO LOVE LYNN DUGGER ONE OF THE BEST GAME COACHES IN THE STATE I,M SURE. SAME AS THERE BOY,S TEAM ALOT OF CLASS AND SOME GOOD OLE BOY,S WITH THE EXCEPTION OF ONE LITTLE G AND I THINK THERE WORKING ON HIM!!!!!!!!!

I agree with you on the Lynn Dugger comment, he is one of the best Girl coaches i've seen and watched. Not everyone can coach girls as they react to challeges in differently each time. To me it takes a better coach for girls than it does with the boys!

Hopefully he'll be with the girls for the next few years, eventually he'll move into the Boys coaching position if something should change there.

    Hats off to him!

  4. Congratz to SG they are definitley a tough team!

Elizabethton had the opportunity in their hands but just could not come through on the Free Throws...

This had to be one of the worst called games i have ever seen for a championship game. The last foul on Pietrowski was a charge but called a block, the technical on the SG girl (Crump I believe ??) didn't seem called for but i'm not sure IF she said anything or just smacked the floor. It took half a game before the female Ref even blew her whistle but when she started woooo she didn't let up.... Hopefully these three will retire for the season and not be allowed to call any regional action for ANY team...

I believe one of the credentials when becoming a ref is you actually played the game at some point in your life it seems to be as easy to become one as it is to bash bad refs on a internet forum / message board /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />

All in all two very good games last night! /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

  5. He's a sophmore, I'm sure at times he looks a little scared / uncomfort / unsure / you name it.

But I have seen the kid make some good throws only to have some dropped balls at the end. By his senior year he should be a complete player.

  6. Man this had to be the worst officiated game I have ever seen. They were holding our team all night and getting away with a bunch of cheap shots.

We had a lot of kids playing hurt and some had been sick this week.

Come on, this time of year every team has kids hurt and sick, nobody is 100%

Hampton is a pretty good team for 500 students against our 200.

LOL! You are gonna put that up..... your 200 are hand picked Hampton's 500 live in the area.

We aren't done and we will still win the rest of our games. Sorry I didn't get too McDonalds I had to rush home for an emergency.

The emergency wasn't removing your foot from your mouth cause you're still running off at the mouth. Could you have possibly dirtied your underwear while watching the game?? /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />

I would like to know the name of the official in the black hat. We will finish the season strong and if we had been even close to 75% we would have blown Hampton out. They are a good little team but we had the deck stacked against us tonight.

75%.... Man you can't even loose Gracefully.... ha get it I made a funny.....

  7. Long Thread!

    I know two things:

The boys coaching needs to change, there is talent at the high school but for some reason they just can't seem to bring it together.

The girls coaching, there's more talent walking the halls than what's on the court. The reason is you cannot belittle, humiliate and embarrass kids and expect them to stay. For some reason it appears this is the current coach's methods of "Motivation" or maybe elimination. When you turn someone away from the sport they love by doing this it's simply morally wrong. I know several kids he's said things to that a coach should not even say. Some of you will say "That's Coaching!"... well maybe it is to you but not to everyone and that's the reason the majority of the elementary kids quit playing when they come to the high school.

Winning is one thing, winning while humiliating and treating kids like dogs and pushing others out is another it is after all just High School Ball.....

  8. It's a shame when a Community doesn't stick together,

Everybody in this Community should be proud that the Gold Ball is sitting in a school in this district......and not jealous that it's not sitting in yours....

I too pulled for Cloudland during the Football Championship and would have been there for the Homecoming Parade if they had won....

As far as luck goes, yeah everybody needs a little luck every now and then, If I remember they still call this a GAME, they don't call it winning or losing.....

As I said in another post I saw several Cloudland people there giving their support for the Rangers at The Boro, to those people Thanks!!!

As for the people to the likes of HonestAbe and anybody else bashing Unaka right now...... Grow up, get a life, quit arguing on a Forum it's immature...

  9. Just curious, what is Stoney Creeks zip code?

Its really a part of Elizabethton isnt it?

Hampton and Roan Mtn (Cloudland) do have their own zip codes in Carter county;  Stoney Creek is the unofficial name for the Community; Correct? Isnt all stoney creekers address 'Elizabethton'?

    Jimmy,

Stoney Creek is located in the upper east end of the county, You have to go thru Elizabethon coming east to get to Stoney Creek....

The zip code for most of The Creek is 37643....

It's probably the prettiest section of Carter County, well it and Roan Mountain..

If you're looking on a map, take HWY 91 out of Elizabethton...it'll lead you right to it...

  10. Congratz Rangers!!!!

I was there, it was a great game, and sportsmanship was great!

Don't hold it againist HonestAbe, that's typical "Lander" attitude, but I did see a few Lander fans down there watching the game and giving support to those guys THANKS!!!! We cheered for the boys during the Football Championship, anybody that represents this county at a Tournament deserves support.

The world is a lil bigger than this county..... ;)
