  1. whats the difference football goes on the road. Build a bigger gym an maybe you can host a game instead of spending money on girls for your girls teams

Why do we need to build a new gym Clay Co has one of the nicest gyms in the state. what does spending money on girls for your girls team mean, can you be a little more clear about that.
  2. has been at h20 since late 80s used to be there ever yr and now there is an advantage because h20 has a chance to win the region for 1st time ever. WOW...where was all this home court advantage the past 25 yrs.

Its not fair, I have been saying this for several years
  3. clay co. would have really been unstoppable if ogletree had of been in the mix . she would have been on that all state list as well too.

You got that right!!!!!!! Ogletree and Roach were quite a duo, I always enjoyed watching her play, she was one of the best defensive players I have seen play
  4. Agreed! There was not a team in A basketball that would have beaten Clay Co. in that state championship. JC plays better defense than anyone in the tournament last year but Clay simply could not miss on that night. Clay jumped out to a lead and never lost! People can say what they want, but this speaks volumes about basketbal in district 7a. It made the 2nd time in 5 years that 2 teams from 7a faced each other in the state championship, 4 out of the last 5 years that a team from 7a has won a title, and Clay Co makes the 3rd team from 7a in the last 5 years to win a title. As I said people can say they came close or whatever, but NO district is as strong as 7a!

Clay co was on a mission and no one I mean no one could have stopped that mission. All eight teams had their chance but Clay played like champions from start to finish.
  5. The only reason rbs has ever won anything is because of the district they were in. They will never win in this one.And why is it that FSC wins their district, oh yeah I remember now you are a private school

  6. The bottom line is 7A dominated the all state team with 6 selected out of 15 total players. All other districts contributed 9. One district with almost half the selection testifies to the quality of basketball in 7A. Good job girls.Five of those six players played in the state championship game how could anyone argue that

  7. I'm not sure how the girl's are picked but I do know that my daughter has been told by several coaches that she is an excellent player on a really bad team and that she is one of the most respected players in her district. She has a great attitude and great sportsmanship. And, I for one think she is very deserving.

there are alot of girls that are excellent players with good attitudes and that are respected, but what are her stats.I hate that your daughter plays on a REALLY BAD TEAM maybe you should transfer her to a really good team

  8. Ande everyone agrees that Stown was very much the equal of Clay County...one of the vvery best games played within the state the entire season...lmuch props to Clay on the gold ball

If you want to pick on someone it should have been Jackson Co. they had three on the list and Clay only had two with Clay beating Jackson for the state title

  9. self correct-Clay Co got 2 not 3....still, went an entire quarter of not scoring, lost by 2 in ot, and they got 2 all staters and Claire is left out...

I myself thought Claire Franklin deserved to be on the list, but Mr.Vandy if you do not think that Sydney Roach and Casey Cooper deserves to be recognized then who does in case you did not notice they are the STATE CHAMPS. Congrats SYD and COOP

  10. PC had the worse fans of the day, complained about every call. And to the one that called the ref a MF in front of a 3yr old, way to go . learn how to win and lose with pride.Enjoy the silver.

You must not sit any where close to the FSC student section, there no angels themselves.

  11. I do not know if you watched the clay/stown game but clay played 5 players and 3 refs charge after charge was called on clay but clay overcame that Lake Co. did not. Clay County by far the best team in that tournament so do not get on here and complain about the calling. WINNERS over come that and that is exactly what Clay Co. did. Congrats on your season.I would not put too much into that MISS BASKETBALL, what a joke .Roach was not even nominated and she has had the stats right up there with the winner, with coming out of DISTRICT 7a. If I had my guess ROACH will take that STATE CHAMPION any day over MISS BASKETBALL. CONGRATS SYD on MVP you so deserved that.

  12. Congrats to those lady dawgs, you played like a champion on Saturday. Each and everyone of you all stepped up and done what needed to be done. Mackenzie Hamilton you showed out. Allie Brown way to start that the game with the three. Mattie Monroe you were on fire. Cooper you kicked butt in the paint. Sydney Roach you where phenominal all three days and that bank shot at half court at the end of the third qurter was so sweet. I have said all year long that you were the best player in the state of Tennessee, does anybody believe me now.....You are a class a person on and off the floor. I always said you wore 33 so well but I do believe 11 fit you just as well.

  13. We've played Science Hill, Morristown West, and some good out of state teams. There is nothing that Clay can bring to the table that the Lady Landers haven't competitively faced before. All I can say, is be prepared for some talented girls from the mountains. And to the poster who wants to see how good Rhodes is; just buy a ticket and pull up a chair pal because the name "Rhodes" and "The American Dream" now apply to this young lady. Clay Co. may find themselves in a lot of foul trouble trying to defend this girl.

Clay has just as many weapons, dont forget we come from DISTRICT 7A, we know a little about ball.
