  1. I can't believe you guys are rehashing this thing. Holy Cow!! You guys sound like OHS Authority. Let it go. Move on. Let's argue about something fresh. AND something I know something about. I feel left out.
  2. Hey, that's good. Did you make that up? Gotta give na_supp a little credit. He seems to be able to debate and take a shot...and deliver one. Can you not learn from this? Please refer to the Middle School section of CoachT. Most people think it is about Middle School Basketball. It is really for middle school posters. Go there and be happy.
  3. You need to take a cold shower. For the THIRD time, I have conceded that my comments might have been too strong.
  4. The answer to this is simple. We have different standards as to how we want our teams to act. What you are defending is what I call attitude. You stated in an earlier post that Cutter doesn't do anything that you don't see college players doing. Right. But the problem is that Cutter is not in college. There are a different set of rules as to tauntiing and displays in college than there is in high school. Look, I'm sure Cutter is a great kid. I know he is a talented player. But there is nothing you can say that could make me approve of the way he acts on the floor.
  5. So what. I was giving my opinion. Is that not what a message board is for. AND, I believe I amended my statement. I still would not approve of the 'smack' and 'showing up of opponents' that some of these kids do. There I said it! Again, so what. That means it is not true? It means we do not agree. You sound like a little girl. I don't know you. Maybe you are a little girl.
  6. I said he plays hard. I still think he acts like a baby. And acting like a baby, at least in my book, is an attitude.
  7. Don't be ridiculous. I never said Oakland and Siegel were the only teams with kids that display attitude. It never came up. This is a 'boro thread. Grow up. Yep, I have an opinion. For you to say that I am the only one that has this opinion means your haven't been paying attention.
  8. I don't question that. He does play hard.
  9. He is a big crybaby. He makes facial gestures, throws his hands in the air, stomps off, gets in other players faces, etc.,etc., etc. Last year, I really enjoyed watching him play. He was a green freshman that played hard and seemed excited to be there. It seems that with a year under his belt, a year of apprenticeship under some of the more experienced 'Stars', he has, attittude wise, taken his rightful place along side some of your more notorious newsmakers. I blame Coach Harris for allowing this to happen. Yeah, that's it. Your right. So drop it. I have already addressed it.
  10. I have already agreed with that. I will also concede this. Maybe my characterization as thugs is a little strong. Let me amend that and say that I wouldn't want my team to do some of the things I have personally witnessed these guys doing.......on the floor.
  11. You have to be kidding. Because you beat Blackman twice means your guys played hard? I don't think so. The level of talent between the 2 teams is as wide as the space between your ears. As I said earlier, I have my reasons for what I said about Oakland's players. Since I refuse to state them, I will not argue with you on this point. You believe as you wish. 1) see above 2) Jones and Cutter to name two. According to an earlier post, Jones even got a technical after he got fouled in the Lebanon game. He was lining up to shoot 2 freethrows and he still couldn't shut up. As I said earlier, step back and view them as people that don't know them would view them. I'm sure they must be great guys at school and at the Dairy Queen or posters wouldn't defend them so vigorously. But we don't see that. That could be true. AND Lavergne is a very capable team.
  12. 1) I can dispute what I feel is wrong. I dispute what you say. 2) I think you should support your team. I'm sure those guys are your friends and deserve your support. 3) Oden is NOT the only attitude problem on the team. He may be the worst and the others may be overlooked by friends like you, but is by no means the only one. 4) They do not play hard everynight. I think even most Siegel posters would agree with that. If they played as hard as Blackman, do you think they would have lost 4 games and been pushed to the limit in countless others?
  13. ............and I don't know what they wear. I only see them in the gym. I may not the most likable guy on CoachT, but I am not shallow enough to base my opinion on what someone wears. What you say is so juvenile, I started to let it pass. But I guess I am so juvenile that I couldn't.
  14. Nope. That's not it at all. I hate to say it because I really respect and like Randy King. But I have my reasons for saying what I said. And to be honest, I am talking more of the younger players. As for Siegel, if you posters cannot hear what virtually every single non-Siegel poster is saying, then you are just not listening. It is not personal. It is simply an observation. If 25 people tell me it is raining outside then I'm gonna wear a raincoat.
  15. I know the choices are Siegel and Oakland but the thread reads, "favorite 'boro team." That being the case I'll take Blackman. They are probably the least talented team in the city yet they play with heart and intensity. They respect their opponents and show it in their game. They have exceded virtually everyone's expectations. As for the other 3 schools: Riverdale) I like Burks but the warriors have redefined the word 'underachieve'. I believe they are still talented enough to win the district but........... Oakland) I have all the respect in the world for Randy King but his players are a bunch of thugs. I can't say I feel the same way about them that I used to. Their behavior has been nothing but a disappointment to me. Siegel) I would be embarrassed to have a team represent my school the way Oden and Co. represent Siegel. I know all you posters are gonna defend your guys and I would expect you to. But, step back and try to view their actions the way other people view it. Take your friendship out of the equation and you might be surprised what you see. That's because CoachT is 90% Siegel. The same guys are on here everytime I log on. Do you guys do anything else?
  16. When are you guys going to realize the game is not about you. It is about the teams competing on the floor. So what if so-and-so had more fans. Nobody cares. I know the Siegel players appreciate their support, as do the Lebanon, Cookeville, White Co., Oakland, etc., etc., etc., players appreciate their fan support. But, as far as I know, fan support is not a TSSAA sanctioned sport. There is no score being kept, no win-loss records, and no league leaders being posted. I really hate to see fans of other schools get caught up in the 'Siegel Nation' syndrome. You know what I'm talking about. The one of total superiority, even though they have probably never hit a layup or a freethrow in their life. The one that says, "I'm glad we lost, it will be good for us," and "we're just glad the district season is over so we can go win the tournament." The one that says no matter what happens, it only happened because it was the way they wanted it. That way, they always win and they never lose. I am constantly entertained by the arrogance of the Siegel fans but, everyone else, please, just support your team and keep the focus on the players..........where it belongs.
  17. Fouls are part of the game. When you commit them, you get in foul trouble. If Jones keeps his mouth shut, maybe he doesn't foul out. His technical proved to be big. He gets fouled and then gets a technical for trash talk. He misses 2 freethrows, Payne goes down and hits 2 freethrows. A big swing, plus Jones' 4th foul. You'd think that being seniors, he, as well as others, would be disciplined enough to put the team first. Actions like that prove that players are selfish, thinking only of themselves. Lebanon has the same problem with a couple of players. They just can't keep their mouths shut. By the way, Siegel shot more freethrows than Lebanon (even with Siegel intentionally fouling at the end of the game.) Siegel lost players with fouls, so did Lebanon. As a matter of fact, Lebanon lost their leading scorer, Presley with fouls, who also sat much of the game in foul trouble. For once, I don't believe the Siegel fans are blaming officials for their loss. I did, however, want to point out that Lebanon faced foul trouble of their own and was outshot at the freethrow line.
  18. Randy King, Randy King and then Randy King. After that I would go with Randy King.
  19. Don't know how all this talk got on the Lebanon/Oakland thread but since we're here, I like Blackman. I think Coach Turnham has done a wonerful job with the Blazers. He loses his best player to Oakland and begins the season something like 3-10 and all of a sudden they are sitting tied for fourth in the district and are arguably the hottest team in the district. I think besides the big TWO, Blackman may be the team nobody wants in the 1st round of the district tourney.
  20. Hooligan, you are an egotistical, hypocritical idiot. For you to speak for an entire student body borders on absolute insanity. Don't you even dare to think you know the mindset of hundreds of emotionally charged teenagers. To smugly say that 1) Siegel students would never rush your floor and 2) Siegel students would never start a fight, is so incredibly stupid it borders on comedy. It is typical of something I would expect you to say. Then you go on to criticize those for expressing an opionion on hearsay and you, yourself admit you spread false information based on, in your own words, hearsay and 3rd person accounts.. I suppose you WERE in the building but you obviously don't know anymore about what happened than I do. It is people like you (and mainly you) that say and then print irresponsible hogwash that creates the tension that leads to unfortunate events happening like Friday night. You may be the most hypocritical poster on CoachT. You constantly contradict vitrually everything you say. I will give you credit for one thing, however. You are so far past the point of nauseating, it becomes entertainment.
  21. I certainly hope Scott does well. He is a pleasure to watch and a credit to our district. Good luck to Scott and Riverdale.
  22. 7AAA is loaded with outstanding coaches. I think that Brandon Burks is certainly one of them. Although he hasn't won a state championship, what coach in our district has? Randy King, as great as he is, has not. Chris Harris, with all the talent at Siegel hasn't either. We need to give Burks his due. He has won consistently and did so at a school known strictly for its football success. If I were to rank our coaches, Randy King would be first on my list, mainly because he has won over a long period of time. From there, I just don't know. Burks, Bray, Keil, Harris, Mitchell and Turnham are all proven winners while the jury is still out on Smith at Warren Co. I am not familiar with coaches elsewhere, but can other district offer the overall strength of our head coaches?
  23. I can't believe your mother lets you on the computer!
