TN GOLD 16U(D1) girls basketball team is in need of post players for it's Nationals bound team. TN Gold qualtified for the Nationals by finishing 2nd in the SRT(shelbyville). We are set to play in the Nationals in Orlando July 10 -18th,2006.If you are interested e-mail coach Tim @ timmyrams@aol.com. Practices are held in Murfreesboro on weekends after high schools camps are over. Players & Parents housing reservations are made in Orlando.

[fon] Siegel Lady Stars escape with a narrow win. I call it narrow because they usually handle Lebanon pretty good. I think Lebanon played pretty good , not taking nothing away from them. But,Siegel will have to step it up a notch the next game. Congrats to the lady Stars. All games are telecast on WGNS 1450am. Enjoy the tournaments fans.

White Co. at Riverdale ,Wednesday Feb 15,2006 6:30 tip off

I have to admit, the ref's made a lot of bad calls in both games on both teams. They were making calls and then trying to "make up the last bad call" it was pit-a-ful . The game should never be decided by 3 officials. Let the game be played in the end by the players on the court. There was no consiticency in the calls made. That last 5 sec on White Co. was more like a 3 sec. just to name the most important one. There were moving screens on both teams that were not called. This was a great game with 2 great teams marred by poor officating. This was clearly two teams jocking for position in the district. Good luck to both teams.

(Siegel at White Co). White Co. lead by as many as 19 points before Siegel came roaring back to win by double digths. Fans were yelling " Siegel Is Overrated" from the stands. Then something "clicked" they ended up putting the smack down on White Co. at their place.

Alan Bush (7AAA Siegel High) A high school in only its 3 year . Shares the county with Riverdale,Oakland, Blackman,Lavergne, and Smyrna. The first year (6-22),last year they were 16-10 and this year they are 19-8 and second place in the district (9-2). Was pick to finish 5th in their district that they share with Riverdale. With only 9 varsity players and not enough girls to scrimmage with in practice. Alan Bush has done a tremendous job.

Jan 19 2006 - 05:25 PM' That Memphis girl would be LaKendra Phillips. I have to mention (TJ) Tikedra Jones from Siegel (7AAA). Only senior on the team,recently reach the 1,000 point mark at the school. They are currently in first place(7-0 ) in their district when they where pick in preseason to finish 5th. Been able to reach the 1,000 point mark in 3 years with a start-up program in my opinion is quite a feat. The team is well balanced in all areas of the game, but her leadership and her desire to win as a team is un-measureable. Her team mates feed off her flow of the game.Once she gives them a lift they are usually off and running to victory. She takes more pride in stopping the opposing team best player than racking up great game stats. This is only my opinion as a bias Dad (smile)
