Thanks Metroman. Powell only really struggles with really big teams. Quick teams they can handle. The Taylor girl from Mo. West is the best player I have seen in a while in East TN. The Herman girl shut her down pretty well. Especially in the first half. IMO the only way Powell has a chance to win it all is to get hott from behind the arc. They can all shoot which is a tough matchup for any team because it spreads out the D. Herman and Allen are the 2 keys to how they go. They seem to be peaking at the right time. I will be there to watch. Good luck to both squads

I know that Hillsboro will be favored but how good are they? I mean Powell plays its best against teams they don't usually stand a chance against. Are they big or are they quick? Can they shoot that kind of thing is what I am looking for if you guys don't care to give some info.

Congrats Coach O and the panthers. It is amazing how he did keep them together and repeat as district tourney champs. Now a chance at a region champ. either way tonight i am goin where ever they go, i will be there cheering until the clock says 00.0 and powell has lost or won the whole freakin thing. i played with a bunch of these guys and ya they have had some issues but i couldn't be more proud for them. these groups of kids know what winning is about they have done it ever since they came to powell. i was not surprised by the score because Powell had some redemption to get from OR from last year. Here is something for the people who say coach ogan can't coach. - 3 districts championships in the last 3 out of 4. - 3 region bids - and now maybe a region championship and a sub-state bid. and i dont even have all his coaching records but for those who say he can't coach, bend over and stick it up your you know what, he competes year after year and keeps makin noise in the post season. powellfan, who was the team to beat if it wasn't powell? or were you referring to before the district tourney? because without a doubt they were the team to beat goin into the region. lol ask halls. p.s. 70-39 over halls god that is so sweet. I agree about the big talk already about Powell and Halls to a certain extent. It is early to be talkin but i mean this is the biggest games for these two programs. Kinda like the Duke UNC game, everyone talks about it and they dont play til late in the year. But I think Daniel Hanson can guard Sharpe very well. I mean he did a Heck of a jonb on DYE when he guarded him. Powell has a good chance a repeating but the key factor in my opinion is gonna be smith and how well the guards handle the ball. But for those who have been on Ogans case about not knowin how to coach or whatever i think he has won the district 2 out of the last 3. and i dont think powell had the best tallent those years either. they were good there is no doubt but he did a good job those years.

powell is a very improved teams from then. they were not playing their best at that time. hopefully they will have better sucess in the tourney this year. a heartbreaker last year put them out. hopefully they can use it as motivation. is the team that put them out last year in it this year?

i have always liked the blue and green conextion bats. they felt really well to me. Almost any easton bat is solid in my opinion.

The National Anthem is something everyone should stop what they are doing and listen to the words and what they are suppost to mean. As a former player, the national anthem gave me chills all over and relaxed me before a GAME, becasue before the games started i would think of all those soldiers that are out there risking their lives for us. and i would realize that it is just a game i am playing and should enjoy it becasue some people dont have that brivilage. so everyone leave the cell phone's in your pocket, take off the hats, and put your hand over your heart, and stand tall to show that we love this nation and everything it stands for. This is no comment towards anyone who has said either way. I am just stating how i think it should be. thumb

I'll go with Farragut big but they aren't as strong as last year. And i really dont know much about cleveland so thats why i will also take the admirals.

I didnt watch the game last night but i heard that Powell played pretty bad. Luckily they were not playing a better team last nite or they might have been spectators tonight. This one should be another good one. Powell plays like they did last night it looks like they will be traveling for their sub-state game. But if they do play well there is no doubt in my mind they will win. Erin Ogan will have to have a good game and so will Hollifield but the key will be the guard play. they eliminate alot of turnovers they shoudl do well. OR- KiKi will have to have an outstanding game and as well have a good supporting cast. Ready for round 4? Ding Ding!

how is the tallent level up there this year compared to past years? how do you think they match up against region2? I am from region 2 and they have some tough ball clubs that will be comming out. My favorite to come out of that one is Powell, and 2nd Clinton. But maryville and Oak Ridge could be the ones you all see. I was just wondering your alls thoughts on this matter and if anyone has seen region2 teams this year and hwo they stacked up.

I agree totally on him being a great coach. i also think that they could finish 3rd this year if they can knock off the beavers. they can beat any team out there but the one that will be the toughest is Halls. man, they have so many freakin weapons this year, it is scary. But good luck to the bobcats.

you did put us out of the district tourney but didnt we take the regular season from you all? and you came in 2nd. as you did in the district tournament. but i guess thats how karns is..... always 2nd place. but hey if thats how u all like it out there you are doing a fantastic job.

I really hope you are right about it being and orange and black championship. I really want this for the Powell team just for coach O. he has had teams good enough to make it this far they just didnt have the heart. he likes this team alot and it has always been the girls who have got all of the pub, its time for the guys to get some if they can pull it off tonight. If they win this one the next one is big but i wouldnt really be too upset if they lost. i want them to just make it to sub-state and they have a good chance of winning that game from what i have heard from the officials from that area. But a win would just put icing on the cake in the region championship, that is if they win tonight. here are the predictions: Clinton/Maryville............ Clinton wins this one by 10. Powell/OR........... Powell by 2. Good luck to everyone. I appreciate on whomever told me about #3 for OR. He should dominate bby his Junior year. the kid is a frosh and already puttin up good numbers and manhandling folk out there.

good post hhsbball12. you hit the nail on the head with all of those. you left one thing out and it is alright because you weren't there but you know when i told you the dunk by the farragut guy was sick, man u missed a FACIAL(quote of Mocs) by lee smith. dang it. All up in that dudes mouth. lol the reason why it is so good is becasue lee has been getting rim-checked all year lol. but he threw that one down nicely. a bigger crowd ........it would have gotten everyone into it. see ya thurs.
