  2. Dear Pokester, Do you think it might be possible to get peanut and KJ to sign my softball as well? Now that you mention it, a team signed ball would be great. Bring it this weekend. That is all much obliged
  3. Thanks PM and WL, the message board turned out kinda generic, im gonna search for a better one in the coming days. Still a lot to add, but you get an idea of how im wanting it to flow. Im gonna try to do pages with like Jeff County records and stuff like that if I can find out who has them.
  4. 6-0 west, I got Poke dog's autograph!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Kimbrough is next

  6. It is messed up right now. Im on the phone with them now, check back in a few lol. OK now its back. Maybe you did see the better one. Anyway, hopefully we can get it built up. Anyone wants to help me out or has any ideas just give me a shout.
  7. No theyve gotten a little more up-to-date since Ed Stiner and his group bought it out, but they still have no website or anything
  8. Yeah a message board will be no problem JC, I'm not sure what all goes in to streaming and all that, since im fairly inexperienced with a lot of the technicalities of web design. WJFC isn't exactly up-to-date on technology either lol. But i dont know, I figured i would go ahead and get the domain now and fool around with it over the summer so that maybe i will be a little further along in the process by august. But anyway, im gonna have to take it down for a little bit while i figure out a problem with uploading. Ill let ya know
  9. Thanks King ok ok, so i finally bit the bullet and footed the bill for website lol. It's a little generic at the moment, but I've just now started messing around with the dreamweaver program. Ill put some more time into it in the coming weeks and see what I can come up with. www.JeffCountySPORTS.com
  10. Patriots begin spring workouts BY DARREN REESE Standard Banner Sports DANDRIDGE - A new era of football is underway in Dumplin Valley. Almost 100 players took to Leroy Shannon Field Wednesday afternoon as Jefferson County began its spring workouts. Under the watchful eye of interim head coach Justin Anderson, the Patriots strapped on the pads for the first time and went through a two-hour session. The team returned for another practice on Thursday before taking Friday off for Jefferson County’s prom. “There is a great feeling among the coaches about the progression the kids have made in just two days,” said Anderson, who took over the helm when former coach Marty Euverard announced last month he was taking the offensive coordinator position at Battle Ground Academy in Franklin. Jefferson County is currently still in the interview process of its head coaching search. Anderson is among the ten finalist for the job. Even without a head coach in place, enthusiasm is high surrounding Jefferson County football. The number of players out for spring practice this year almost doubles the amount that participated in 2006. “Right now, we have more than 90 dressed out, and that’s not counting our baseball players and the kids we have running track,” Anderson said. “The numbers are just tremendous. We’ve got a lot of kids out that are ready to play football. They are excited about it and us coaches are excited about it.” Players spent the majority of the opening day working with their respective offensive position groups, but did see some full squad action the final 30 minutes. Thursday’s session focused on defense. Destpite the interim status, Anderson and the current staff are already implimenting the basics of a veer-option offense, a switch from the I-formation ran under Euverard. Anderson metioned that changes in defensive philosophies are also being made. “The first day, we introduced a new offensive system, and I think the kids responeded well to it,” said Anderson. “They seemed like they had fun with it. On defense Thursday, we had had kids flying around and being physical, which was good to see." Jefferson County is operating spring workouts short-handed, as both the head coach and defensive coordinator positions are vacant. It was learned last month that Chris Smoot, who ran the defense during Euverard’s tenure, will also not be back next season. JCHS coaches John “Buster” Brimer, Jonathan Brimer, and Rodney McCash work with the school’s track teams and are not currently available full time. Jefferson County is also looking to fill the coaching positions of the freshman football team for next fall. “It’s really tough [not having a full staff of coaches right now],” Anderson admitted. “One day we’ve got three coaches, and one day we’ve got four, since some of our coaches coach track. It just means we’ve got to work that much harder.” Anderson said the main objective of spring practice is to keep the large contigent of players excited about playing football in the fall, and to evaluate each individual’s strengths and weaknesses. “The biggest thing is to take a good look at our personel and see who can play where, what posiion they are most comfortable with,” he explained. “We also want to have fun doing it. We want to make sure every kid is involved so that they will make it back out in the fall.” Jefferson County continues the spring session for three days this week, Monday thru Wednesday. Next week, the Patriots will practice on Monday, before taking on Knox Carter in a 5:30 p.m. scrimmage at Carson-Newman’s Burke-Tarr Stadium. After practices on Wednesday, May 9, and Monday, May 14, Jefferson County will conclude workouts with the “Blue and White” game on Tuesday, May 15 at Leroy Shannon Field. It will be the first time Jefferson County has held an intra-squad scrimmage since the spring of 2003. “We are just trying to get people excited about this program again,” Anderson said of the extra activities. “We want the players, the parents and the community to understand what Jefferson County football is all about.”
  11. Jefferson County to scrimmage Carter at Burke-Tarr Standard Banner Sports Friday, April 27 DANDRIDGE - The Jefferson County football team will take a break from its spring workouts next week to scrimmage Knox Carter at Burke-Tarr Stadium on the campus of Carson-Newman College. The game is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 8. “This is something new that we are doing this year, and hopefully the community will come out and support the team,” said JCHS interim coach Justin Anderson. Jefferson County is coming off an 3-7 season, and saw head coach Marty Euverard and defensive coordinator Chris Smoot relinquish their duties effective last month. Knox Carter is a Region 1-3AAA school in Strawberry Plains. The Hornets went 10-2 a year ago, losing to eventual state champion Knox Fulton in the second round of the playoffs. Carter also lost to Fulton during the regular season. Jefferson County and Carter used to play annualy back in the late 1970’s and early 80’s. The two schools have not met during the football regular season since 1982. They were scheduled to scrimmage prior to last season, but it was cancelled just 15 minutes into the workout due weather conditions. Jefferson County will conclude its spring session on Tuesday, May 15, with the Blue and White game at Leroy-Shannon Field. It will mark the first time the Patriots have held an intra-squad scrimmage since 2003. After the game, there will be a meeting for all parents with a child involved with Jefferson County football, including incoming freshman. Golf Tournament The Patriot Hills Golf Club will play host to the annual Patriot Challenge Golf Tournament, scheduled for Friday, May 18, at 1 p.m. The event is a four-player scramble, with an entry fee of $75 dollars per player. Each golfer will receive a T-shirt, lunch, greens fees and cart rental. Lunch will be served at 12 noon. Hole sponsorships are also needed for the tournament. All proceeds go to help the JCHS football team with travel, meal and equipment cost throughout the season. Prizes will be awarded for the top three teams, and there will also be door prizes given out, as well as for a possible hole-in-one. Space is limited to the first 24 teams, so please turn in registration as soon as possible. All early entries will be included in a drawing for a dozen Titleist Pro V-1 golf balls. For more information, contact Greg Manis at (865) 471-2192, or Tim McFall at (865) 693-9697.
  12. i tried that on a smiliar hosting site, ill try photobucket, thanks
  13. Hey rebelron, how do you post a picture as your signature?
  14. Just from asking around today, it appears Mr. Schneitman holds all the cards when it comes to the decision. The current coaches gave their input on the candidates and it will ultimately come down to who Schneitman chooses.
  15. Well since they are going ahead and trying to teach the kids the basics of the veer, I dont see how they could go any other direction than Anderson, otherwise you are wasting practice. But I did try to research a couple of the known canididates and Cummings runs the veer at west. WEST OFFENSE West’s split-back veer offense is fueled by a pair of talented runningbacks and a new quarterback who made big plays to help the Rebels edge Heritage 27-20 at HHS last week. It could be they are the two finalist? Purely speculation since I cant get any concrete info from the top
  16. Ill keep that in mind for next year RR /tongue.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" /> Id be safe to say you wont find them in the tribunal either lol But i keep the bball standings up to date most of the time, that should keep you half way satisfied ... and btw, now that you are out of hiding, what happened to you being the baseball beat writer this year /tongue.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" /> Cherokee has three district losses, jeff county and east four each. Looks like jeff county will be involved in a coin flip no matter what
  17. Yeah I heard him say that too Warlock. I never knew how his dad felt about the whole football thing so I didnt know if he thought it got in the way of track, or whether he enjoyed it last year or what. I know Tyler's AAU track career, and bball, keeps him busy most of the year. As for Nick, its all about concentrating on baseball and I know his dad has said it was looking like he wouldn't be out for football next year. There is no doubt that baseball is his sports, he's tearing it up this year, but we'll see. But anyway, 98 players is large warlock and that's without the incoming freshman. I say there was half that many last spring but ill have to go back and look. If they can keep two-thirds of them into fall then thats a good step in right direction.
  18. Ill try to answer a couple of these for you JC4Life, but with a disclaimer that not all is factual so please no one get uptight. 1 - Will Darby looked like he was working with the first team offense, if there was such a thing. He split reps with freshman Hunter Gentry. Long and last year's JV QB Trevor Denton are both baseball. 2 - Saw signs of veer, thats the direction i think its headed 3 - I would expect McCash to take over as DC if gut is hired 4 - Sevier County lost a lot off last year's team, Karns, Bearden and Science Hill are all going through coaching changes. Should be interesting. Jeff County has enough returners to finish in the 3-4 range if they can learn to win all the close games that have slipped out of their hands the past few years. 5 - If the season started this summer, i doubt Sherrod would play football, he may change his mind though 6 - defense should be improved, a lot of sophomores played in the secondary last year, and some studs return at LB like Yeary, Rickard 7 - dont know after one day of practice 8 - Tyler i think is still not 100 percent sure on football, but I dont know that for fact. Aggressiveness is a must, plus they have to throw the ball to him a little more 9 - 80 + were there today - counting the baseball boys, they should be hopeful that at least 60 can make it to fall 10 - dont know much about this one right now either
  19. I tried to post some pictures, but its not working. Maybe these boards don't allow it. If someone knows how, let me know i tried the whole thing
  20. Ole scotty dubya will keep her butt in line /tongue.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" /> Oh and don't forget im waiting to catch a homerun ball so i can get you to autograph it pokester
