Im not a player, coach or parent, so I have no influence over the Pokester. Oh and Lancelot, im not pitiful, i just have to offer the occasional good luck /tongue.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" /> Since it appears Jeff Countys run of eight straight is going to come to an end. And as far as all-tournament, I would have to say that the coaches have a lot of influence over that, at least thats the way it is in some other sports. Two of Jefferson County's all-tournament players were seniors, smith who got MVP is a freshman. I don't think Tori has to worry about any all-tournament awards. If she keeps her head on straight, hers will come.

Oh BTW, congrats to Pokey "can i please get your autograph" Whitehead and West, no doubt this was their year. Next week is when the games really count though, good luck to everyone

Thanks King, I dont think its on that website anymore though. Just about 40 more hours till spring practice gets underway. Hopefully there will be a lot of enthusiasm around it this year, with the blue and white game, and the scrimmage at C-N and everything.

Cherokee should have won it, that was the weakest Tiny Day (or any tournament field) I've ever seen. Seems like everyone is playing their best softball right now, should be another exciting 2-AAA tournament.

On another note, Jeff County starts spring practice wednesday. Though a few skill players will be out with baseball and track, they are expecting around 80 to be out. We'll keep our fingers crossed and see.

I think its rare that you approach and contact coaches openly in hs, maybe behind the scenes if you have on particular one in mind. I don't know if there is some kind of rule where you have to open it up or not. I don't think they will wait until May 15, Ive said all along I think an announcement will be made sometime during spring practice. It doesn't look like its going to be before it though.

Jefferson County 5, Cherokee 0 Tori Hill pitched five-hit ball for JCHS. Dyer pitched the first five innings for Cherokee, gave up two runs. Whitney Gilbert pitched the last two and gave up three.

Just talked to Kisabeth, still wouldnt name any names. He said five people have interviewed are they expect to interview no more than ten. Said they will continue through the middle of next week, at which point they will narrow it down again and do second interviews if needed. Yeah thats about it, nothing too news worthy.

Yeah I know some names, but Im going to give Kisabeth a call tomorrow to see if I can get the full rundown. I wouldn't expect it to take much longer, they have been interviewing all week. I've heard Hammonds interviewed early in the week, but thats just what ive heard, nothing confirmed by anyone of importance. I do know Justin interviewed yesterday though.

All thats been said is they want to have someone by May 15, end of school. But I think they will name someone coinciding with spring practice. Justin Anderson had his interview yesterday.

Jeff County swept East Tuesday, leaves JC and West with one loss apiece in the district. Big series coming up, with the winner controlling their own destiny toward the championship and No. 1 seed for tourney. One game at West on Monday and doubleheader at JC on Tuesday.

Topgun At most schools, the head coach has the authority to choose his assistants. I would assume the new head coach will fill the needed positions, but like Warlock said, there are a lot of things that can go on behind the scenes.

You are right Hulk CJA has went to all the middle schools, as well as the county track meet Thursday, which was a good opportunity because all of the top football players from the four middle schools were there. Coach Kisabeth said there have been 31 applicants as of this morning, 11 of them were head coaches last season. The majority have came from instate, but he has gotten resumes from new orleans, vermont and canada to name a few. The deadline is this friday, the 13th and they will spend next week narrowing it down to 10 or so, and then do one (or two if needed) rounds of interviews with the finalist. I asked him about CCS and all he would say is that Schneitman had received his resignation, told me Mr. Schneitman might be able to give me more information.

Yeah thats right warlock, the dates i was given for the Blue and White and the scrimmage were mixed up. Hopefully people will come out to support the team on the 8th and 15th.

Kisabeth said yesterday that the number is up in the 20s. I am suppose to call him and he is gonna break down locations, head coaches, coordinators etc. Said he couldnt go into names until the interview process got underway.

Jefferson County lost but I couldn't understand whether the final score was 2-0 or 10-0. As inconsistent as the JC pitching is right now, I would say the latter.
