  1. Since there is no official coaches vote, they couldn't have been picked last in the conference. And anyone that knew anything about the IMAC this year knew Cherokee would finish top half. And how does Cherokee have players that play AAA and AA? Do they play for two different teams?
  2. GDM, Joey did pitch for Jefferson County. He wasn't as crisp as I saw him at times last year. He gave up seven hits, five walks, but did pitch better late in the game, allowing only two hits in the last three innings. He made a couple of mistakes early and Rutledge made him pay, a two-run homer in the first inning, three-run homer in the second. At the plate for JC, Belcher, Zach Long and Nick Sherrod all hit homeruns and went a combined 8-of-11 with 3 HR, 2 2b, seven RBIs and seven runs scored. JC also was better than I thought they would be at the bottom of the order, 7-8-9-1 (Tyler Smith, Clark Paschual, Christian McFall and Will Brummett, all newcomers except Brummett who was bumped into the varsity starting lineup during tournament last year) went 5-of-9 with four walks four RBIs and four runs scored. The thing about JC is Belcher and Sherrod are the only returning pitchers from last year. The JC offense should be able to put up runs, but all of the newcomers on the pitching staff are going to have to step up in a hurry with the way the conference games are being played this year. Gotta have good pitchers 3-4 deep at least.
  3. Jefferson County beat Rutledge tonight in five innings 15-5, 14 hits and three homeruns. Patriots play Halls Thursday and Pigeon Forge Friday, with possible games on Saturday.
  4. Jefferson County manages to play a tough schedule year in and year out, I know this year they have two games with Halls and two with South Doyle among others. As for my prediction West East Jefferson County Greeneville Cherokee Cocke County
  5. I think he meant 1 to 10
  6. No, but you cheer for Cocke County
  7. I agree King, he doesnt take to kind to visitors RR, didn't mean to make it sound like you were insinuating that the pg position was the only prob for JC this season. Just wanted to expand on it. Don't forget jeff county starts baseball in a week or so. Get your reporter pad ready.
  8. Thanks RR, though I resent anything you or PTS says about Alabama I think Jefferson County's problems went a lot deeper than one position. Whether its due to unathleticism on some parts, the lack of comprehention on some parts, or a lack of skill on some parts, they just looked worse and worse on offense as the season went along. Teams played a lot of zone against them the second half and nobody wanted to throw it inside. I don't know how many times you saw people open on back-door cuts and who ever had the ball along the perimeter wouldn't pull the trigger. Not that it would have matter, because when players did get the ball inside, they sent a two foot shot three feet over the rim. I wont name any names because RR knows who im talking about. Jefferson County started missing wide open layups against South Doyle the fourth game of the year and never stopped. Not to mention, Elliott was the only one that seemed to know how to go strong to the basket. Some of the others playing post, they would have a girl stading their guarding them, arms straight up in the air, and they would shoot the ball right into their hands. All season long. Turnovers were a problem too. Early in the season, Jefferson County forced enough turnovers to make up for the ones they were committing. As the season went along, the team got slower and slower and was unable to do this. Just by watching the team the second half of the season, there are a couple of girls who saw regular time this season that are going to have to step up this offseason or are gonna lose some PT to freshman next year. Not that they might not anyway, that will be up to the coaching staff. But I can name three girls coming up that will at least be able to put the ball in the bucket.
  9. :) :D Truer words were never spoken
  10. Yeah we've had a pretty civilized board this season, and then dick wants to come and ruin it for everyone. Ill hang around with ya for another week or so barbie, I'm still waiting the final post of the year from RR

  12. Internet gambling is no longer an easy form of entertainment, thanks to Bill Frist and the republicans. Althought last night I did try out the Tennessee Poker Tour in Johnson City that your boy Ron Bliss has been hyping up on tricitiessports.
  13. You are right my friend, barbie is a senior.....citizen
  14. Now Barbie, watch the language
  15. Personally, I don't care for liver.
  16. A chance? yes, remember Morristown West beat Tennessee High so that tells you what kind of team they have. A probability? No, not if JC plays like they have been. Yes Haven't seen SH, but if they have any kind of offense it's possibile No way South will win, but 30 points is a big task at this point of season
  17. Yeah I know the Tribune works on deadline, but Justin Holt, the guy that covers Jeff County games with me always gets quotes. I know the CT deadline isn't until 4 of 5 in the morning though. The Sun's deadline may be 11 or 12 if they print early, not sure how you all work up Greeneville way. But still, the freakin girls game is first. I always talk to Potts before the boys game or during half of the boys game.
  18. Sorry PTS, I have to sit up in the crow's nest with you and make sure you keep your bad-mouthing of refs under control.
  19. I wouldn't call anyone immature when you have been attacking people with your "opinions" all year.
  20. He had to have a luxury box for him and his wife
  21. Saved it from going to the second page
  22. Barb, you know he was just all caught up in the championship celebration and forgot to talk to Crumbley. He did throw in a "offense-deficient Lady Trojans" for good measure though.
  23. Well it's after the fact, let's hear from you.
  24. PTS has a biased against #5
