  7. Official TD Club Statement Regarding Coach Darlington's Resignation Posted: 11/14/2005 3:52:52 PM The Valdosta Touchdown Club is disappointed to learn about the resignation of Rick Darlington. Our thoughts and well wishes go out to Rick and his family during this time of transition. Full Article Coach Resigns This is a 100,000 dollar or more job with the absolute best facilities in America. Check out their website at http://www.valdostafootball.com/home.aspx There problem is that the county school in which they reside (Lowndes) has taken over the area. If he's going to GA, you can bet you tail it won't be North Cobb if Valdosta is available. IMHO

  12. To the victors go the spoils of war. The 8 teams who went to the state tournament have the best chance to get an all-stater. If you weren't in the final 8 you will have had to have an outstanding year or be d1 signee. at tbca.org we have a list of every player ever drafted from a TN school. You can see for yourself. And I might add, if you aren't in the first round, you very rarely make it to the big leagues. You can go thru the entire draft from 1965 and see that statistically speaking, very few players drafter after the first round ever make it to the show. That may sound strange, but it is true. I started counting up the numbers a couple of years ago, but it is astounding to see the difference..
  13. when the teams are finalized and rosters are finished, the coaches will send the info to buddy powers who puts together the scout programs, etc. he will email me the info and i will post it on the website and we also do a page that shows box scores, etc for the weekend as well as posting a few pictures from the games. First things first, and that is the Jr. Sunbelt Series starting this weekend in Oklahoma.

  19. Quote from the Tennessean by Overton player after yesterday's game - “We’ve been working toward this for a long time,” said Overton senior Allen Bolden, who was 3-for-4 with three RBIs. “It started with us running 20 sprints in conditioning. Before state we were running 50 sprints a day. The harder you work, the harder it is to give up.” Overton's winning streak is 35 games in a row also from the Tennessean- Overton Coach Mike Morrison plans to start Moore, his No. 4 starter, in the final. The Bobcats will likely have to beat Houston ace Matt Lea for their winning streak to reach 36. “That number is something for another time,” Morrison said. “When the kids look back 10 or 15 years from now, that will be a good accomplishment. Right now we have one goal.”

Hitting the ball hard, getting the timely hit to the perfect location, the Purple Wave put the pressure on MBA to make great plays to get the Brothers out. Four of the five doubles drove in runs and five of the remaining ten singles racked up RBI's to account for twelve earned runs. Packer dominated MBA allowing only two hits, no walkes and no runs, opening the door for the offense to give all the run support any pitcher could desire.
