  1. Coach2 sounds like you are putting down most coaches in 10AA,just because teams don't run alot of back picks and make 15 passes every possession does that mean they have no discipline, maybe some coaches like to run up and down the floor insead of a princeton style offense. Why not play to your strengths just like you said about DL,each coach has there own style. I don't like watching a team that is so predictable that you no where every pass is supposed to go, i think it is good to have a system but at times let the kids have some fun as well especially if they have natural talent let them play, alot more fun as a spectator. I think it will be a great basketball season reguardless of who you pull for.

I am not putting down 10AA coaches at all, there are some really good coaches in 10AA- look at last year's results. Two former coaches in that league are good friends of mine. I am just saying that alot of times coaches who have really athletic teams tend to be less disciplined on the defensive end.

Obviously if you can go up and down the floor pressing playing to your strengths that is great coaching move. My point was the putting DL soo low in the preseason rankings was (in my opinion) not a great move because they will play so disciplined that it will frusterate alot of their district opponents.

And you are telling the truth when you say it will be a great basketball season no matter who you pull for.

  2. 10A you no wat it is. good points, agree 100 percent. COACHWO let me think 10AA=ATHLETIC basketball teams sound like to me that DL will struggle.

I'm sorry, didn't I say athletic and disciplined teams? They might all be athletic but they are not all disciplined. You obviously dont know anything about a Princeton style system- it takes your strengths and turns them into weaknesses. But hey, as you said in a previous post- You KNOW more than I do.

  3. DL will run their system like a machine! They will suprise alot of people because what they lack in athleticism they will make up in execution. It will be like watching a Princeton basketball game.

Their only problem willbe with athletic and disciplined teams.

  4. COACHWO well i know that goodpasture has pretty solid transfer but i heard he has to sit out. No offense to greenbrier but Greer has no love for the game of basketball he doesn't show any heart on the court and he is SOFT. TRUST ME COACHWO I KNOW MORE THAN YOU!

COACHRUS ok i might have DL a little low but for you to say that CPA is at 3rd and Maplewood at 5th you are crazy. With the combo of Craig Bradshaw and Jalen Lindsey i see them rolling through the district WAIT AND SEE!

I have no doubt that you know more than I, I am but a mere humble fan of high school basketball. I just think it is hard to believe the rankings would finish would GP second? Their PG is good but I wonder what else they bring to the table. White House's 1-3-1 is stifling and Macon Co. has a pretty good 1/2 court run and jump, Sycamore has not proven that they can be consistant yet. I think District 9 is a toss up.

I do agree with you about Bradshaw and Lindsey being a heck of a team. CPA should win district 10.

  5. Well, they have that ugly center mcfeet back...slow, unathletic, goofy dumbo ears. They have a few kids who should stick to football only like Gatlin "i can't shoot", Dale "me wear pink" Hutch, Daniel "my guy wears pink" Harris, and Tyler "i'm too pretty for this shirt" hawks. Gatlin has told me he predicts they will be in the runner up spot for last place in district. They shoot high. Coach Dilday gave his prediction for this year also....MORE ULCERS! Coach Hewett, who always supports his basketball program said "we have a basketball team?" and coach Hodge moved an inch and breathed when asked about basketball....big reaction for him.

Where is Dresden High School? No offense, but I have never heard of this school.

  6. CPA was ranked really high at the beginning of last year, but did not finish in top 2 in district. I know the Bradshaw kid is good and so is Lindsey, and there are two other starters returning I think. Not sure about the bench, unless the Freshmen are that strong. So, it will be interesting to see if they can live up to the prediction.

Anyone know how Bradshaw was able to transfer and play without having to sit out?

As far as I know, he moved over there. Unless there is something we are missing. That is still the legal way to do it, no? Their family moved is what I was told. I am sure with the situation being delicate like it is, that is was done correctly.

  7. That “sorry†DL team from last year I believe finished 2nd in the district. They also beat the CPA team projected #1 above by 17 and 18 points, respectively. I’m assuming the Bradshaw kid must be really good for CPA to be projected to win it if they only return one starter of note and he is only a freshman (albeit a very talented one).

Always respect DL, it is the system that they have that allows them to compete every year- not good or bad talent. They are very good at what they do- and that is compete. (little shout out to Coach Mike Roller)

Bradshaw is a junior this year not a freshman. I didnt realize that CPA only had 1 returning starter. He is a very good stater I might add. Their 8th grade class 2 years ago was outstanding so those now sophomores should be ready to compete.

Why the pick for Gooodpasture at 2nd? They lost 2 out of 3 scorers and the big post player transfered to Station Camp, the PG is the only solid player returning who played. Greenbrier at the bottom? Really, I think they are better than that. The Greer kid is long, if he has any help they will be ok cause you cant coach sie at 6"9

Maplewood at 2nd really? Wow, I guess when I saw them this summer they just didn't have anyone at camp. Maplewood is still very good- saw them at a couple of playdays this summer against good competition and they were rocking some people.

  8. He is pretty good. Tremendous athlete: strong, quick, and has good ups. Shot the ball kinda streaky last year but I am sure that will change with coach Maddux's instruction. He is an on-court leader to be sure. Will definitley strengthen a really good CPA team.

  9. Well, I respect him as a player, he is tough. The Rhoten move was a bit strange though. Coach Mason will coach em up though, he is good one at the development and X's and O's. District 10 should be th class of the region- too many tough schools in that district.

District 9 will be ok, maybe not as strong as it could have been.

  10. You know, there was a 'rumor' back about 3 or 4 years ago that he may transfer. But, still, it's gonna be weird...seein' him in CPA colors. And, then, with the Rhoten's transferring to Goodpasture, Greenbrier just won't be the same, at least for the next couple of years.

  11. You can now enter schedules and/or rosters. Do NOT enter any scrimmages or jamborees! We only want games that count in your school's record.

Please follow the following directions closely:

    HOW TO ADD SCHEDULES

To add a schedule, go to the Inside page for your team and click "Schedule/Results." There is a link on that page called "Add Games." Click it and it will take you to the form. As you type in the names the database will begin to fill it in for you. Select the correct team from the choices, even for out-of-state teams.

    IMPORTANT NOTES

    - The games you add will not appear on the website until they are previewed by site operators.

    - In order to save time, add only those games that do not already appear on the schedule.

    - Use the drop-down menu for all games, even against out-of-state opponents. Almost all schools nationwide are in the list. Check your spelling, or try typing it a different way (ie co instead of county).

    - If the game is a district game, be sure to check the appropriate box.

Finally: Until you're very familiar with the form, be sure to look over it before you submit it each time to avoid mistakes.

Once you have finished adding the schedule your entry will appear on the website once CoachT validates your submission.

    HOW TO ADD ROSTERS

To add a roster, go to the Inside page for your team and click "Roster." Add the players. You must include information in every field except weight. That is optional.

To add schedules and rosters, find your school's team Inside CoachT.

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Schedules, or partial schedules, that we currently have.

When you make a mistake, and you will :) , then email me at coacht@coacht.com and include the link to the schedule or roster in the email. Including the link to something that needs editing saves me a tremendous amount of time over an entire season.

  12. WITH ALL THE MOVES IN THE REGION WHO DO YALL WILL HAVE THE UPPERHAND IN EACH DISTRICT?

Define "moves". Coaching moves, players move? Depends what you are talking about. Both districts should be very competative. Good coaching in both districts and players getting after each other. Probably will come down to the last week on District play in 9AA. CPA is alot better with Bradshaw there. MLK, Whites Creek, Hume-Fogg have really good talent and coaching. It should be fun to watch this year.

  13. Hey Phil, dont forget about those scrappy Sycamore girls who took 3rd in district 8 and gave Goodpasture all they wanted in the District semifinals. They lost 2 seniors and are hungry to get better this season as they seem to have caught the v-ball bug. Several of the girls played club ball and all went to hitters, setters camps this summer. They may not be very big but they have big hearts!

  14. And all right, what about that high spirited AA Division. Pageman earlier got on here and predicted "Page would be in the State this year". Pretty bold. Can District 1 come up with a team to give it a try and can that GREENE District2 make a showing. or will last years State Champion District 6 Red Bank again power their way to the State. Chattanooga Christian and Notre Dame may fight itiei out for District 7 but with a new coach can ND do it? Can the new school in Murfreesboro, Central, break in to the tough District 8 lineup. And who is going to come out of a very competitive District 8, Greenbrier, Goodpasture, Macon or others. That will be hard to call. And then there are all of those good AA schools around Jackson. Can someone knock Crocket off> Or will Chester of Lexington be at the State this year? And who will come out of Memphis? AA looks to be an interesting year.

  15. A great time was had at the Brentwood Team Camp. It was a pleasure to get to see such good volleyball from around the state. Should make for a great volleyball season.

It was also a pleasure to meet you Phil. :flower:

  16. High School basketball does not need a shot clock. The game is fine without it- most players are not smart enough to hold on to the ball anyway. They shoot way to quick into the possession. There is an average of 75 possessions per team in a game. That is alot, and scores show they are not that proficient in scoring.

As for the jump ball rule- give every jumpball to the defense- reward the hustle or reward the pressure on the ball because the offense can't handle the ball.

Just my opinion- I think the game would be better.

  17. Just to correct something, should Sycamore be ahead of Creekwood? Creekwood beat Sycamore. I would think Sycamore would be # 2 and Creekwood #1. Also, I believe that Cheatham is 0-4 unless they played on Saturday and won.

To answer the question concerning goaltending- the rule stipulates this year that if the player is attempting to block the shot and he/she hits the backboard then the goal counts and there is no technicle foul. If in the opinion of the official that it is not a legit block attempt then a technicle foul is assessed with the made basket.

It really is a referee judgement call- is the player making a legit attempt at blocking the shot? Only a ref would know I guess.

  18. Crown College is a memeber of the NCCAA and plays alot of NAIA schools. Milligan, Bryan, ect..

Faith had two good years, 19-11 and was put out of the AHSAA playoffs by the team who went to the 1A Final Four in 2006-07. In 2007-2008 Faith went to the AHSAA Final Four in 1A and finished with a record of 27-5.

  19. Hope the hire works out for a long time. Nashville is a great area for basketball and a great area to raise your family.

Sycamore looks like a really good job and the people care about thier high school sports.

  20. Any news yet about a new coach? I know the hiring process takes some time but surely they have something by now?

Are they wanting a local guy? Or somebody from that region of Tennessee? Just wondering cause spring/summer practices are right around the corner.
