  3. Farragut Shocks No. 6 Ooltewah With Four Field Goals Loss Sends Owls To No. 4 In Final Region Standings posted October 29, 2004 This wasn't how Ooltewah planned to end the 2004 regular season. After winning its first eight high school football games, the sixth-ranked Owls lost last week to third-ranked Oak Ridge in Oak Ridge. On Friday night, Ooltewah lost on its home field to Farragut, 12-7. By virtue of losing to Farragut and Oak Ridge beating Soddy-Daisy, Ooltewah fell to No. 4 in the Region 2-5A standings and must play next week at top-ranked Kingsport Dobyns-Bennett in the first round of the state playoffs. Ooltewah, Soddy-Daisy and Farragut each finished the regular season with 8-2 overall and 5-2 region records. The second criterion came into play and because Hixson won on Friday night, the final region seedings will be Oak Ridge, Soddy-Daisy, Farragut and Ooltewah. Ooltewah coach Ted Gatewood was visibly disappointed after the game. He spoke briefly with the Owls, the broke toward the Ooltewah locker-room. "We didn't play tonight,'' he said. "Plain and simple, we didn't execute. We didn't perform, and it was my fault. "We'll regroup. We'll have to. It's the playoffs.'' Farragut senior place-kicker Thomas Riddle provided all of the Admirals' points with field goals of 19, 46, 37 and 41 yards.
  4. Where is the Football Field located. I've never traveled to CC so what town is it in?
  5. DB and OR are two of the greatest places in the State to play Football in on a Friday night. We moved from DB to Farragut in 2000. We were in for a shocker when we went to our first Farragut Football Game and saw that it was mainly Band/Football parents. We traveled with the the Tribe during the Playoffs in 2000 to Sevier Co, Oak Ridge and then to Red Bank where they were beat by Gerald Riggs and that years State Champs. So , Yes Farragut has a long way to go but I think their booster club and new Principle is putting enough pressure on the Coach to turn the program around or get a New Coach.
  6. Buzzy is a great Guy! Can yall beat the Hill this year? My son was the Partner of your State Champ from 2 years ago when we lived there.
  7. What weight Class is Borneman from Houston going? I would like to see him and Gessler go at it again.
  8. Have you ever played there? It's old time football up there. Folks have Season tickets and all the seats are always filled. You think Oak Ridge was a tuff place to play. Watch out the Tribe! It's like Friday Night Lights without the new Stadium. They will pluck your feathers and put them in their Helmets. Very few Teams ever go up there and win during the playoffs. Enjoy the ride and watch their sidelines. Their kids put on a great show! Dance Team, top ranked, 3 set of Cheerleaders. I'm telling you this because what is going to happen on the field will be UGLY for the Birds!
  9. Since, you have seen them all now. How did #45 Nick Reviez play at LB?
  10. How about those Farragut Girls, Sounds like the Coaching is just fine. thumb
  11. What was the score? I take it that the Hoots underestimated the defense of Farragut. They should have passed. We ahve a very good Kicker. Looks like he was our offense. thumb
  12. Catholic has your Number, You better hire their Coach away or get him to come to Farragut. We need a good Coach.
  13. How about Griffs boy at Halls?
  14. You are the Man Knoxsoddyboy thumb
  15. Sounds like Basketball Best knows his stuff Better than Grad thumb The Owls are awful quiet! Sounds like Twetty Birds not Birds of prey.
  16. When we moved to Knoxville, Maryville I mean Marrrrrrrrrrrrrryville! Was one of the the top two Schools we concidered. But my son was good at CC, Wrestling and Soccer. We one the State at two of those and he finished 2nd in the State at wrestling.
  17. Will the Nation be able to step up and make it to State Duals?
  18. Thank God we're not talking Football. Your Rebels are killers.
  19. True. We didn't even get to go to the Regional Duals. It was the first time in 6 years that we had not qualified and won the Regional duals. We need the time to heaWe will have 1 State Champ, 1 State Finalist and a few other returning seniors who qualified for state last year. Our shakers and breakers this year will be: 125 Paul Mountain- Senior, Who was injured last year but qualified for State. 140 Scott Dix- Senior- Returning State Champion 160 Chad Blankenship- Senior, Who was injured last year but qualified for State and gave or 152lb finalist Chad Turner a great challenge every day in practice. 171 Justin Knox- Senior, Who was injured last year but was a State Finalist. 215 Nick Reveiz-Placed 2nd in Region his first year wrestling and worked on his techniques all summer. Others to watch out for: Chuck Layton, Nick Montgomery, Younger brothers of Reveiz, Farinella, Turner and we had a State Qualifier who finished 6th from Denver, CO and a Heavy Weight move in from out west. Also, this will be the first year that we have more than one football player coming out for the team. We are excited about this team and our chances. Last year our team had over 6 kid's injured at one time and no back ups. l up but it paid off at State.
  20. Farraguts coaches will be graduating collage sometime in the near future. If they get offered jobs out of State we will be in the Hunt for a new coach. We have a new Principle that wants all porgrams to do well. I will talk off line about who my Young men are. If you do it on here than the Talk becomes mean as discussed before.
  21. True, but I feel this will be the strongest team Farragut has every put on the mats. They finished 4th in the State last year, we hope to finish higher this year,
  22. Adam Will have to face Nick Reviez and he has a whole summer under his belt now and he is a returning Regional finalist. Nick is very, very ,very agressiveand has been working out with Justin Knox.
  23. We didn't have a full team at the Eagle Challange. We had everyone healthy and still didn't have a full team at the Region Championship but killed everyone. The Score wasn't even close. We will 7 Regional Medalist returning and some new faces on the team the moved in from out of State. The Wrestlers you mentioned are very good but a former State Chanp and finalist isn't chop liver.
  24. They have always made it close at the regional Duals against Farragut. Maryville has a great school and great fan support. Hopefully we will have enough kids this year to have a full team and make a real showing at the State Duals.
  25. They wrestled for the Mocsters When we lived in Chatt and AAU in Kingsport and Knoxville.
