  2. Its 1:45 and I am presently watching the weather--- It is talking about terrible storms in LavErgne/ Smyrna area. Will we still play bd???
  3. Mickey Armstrong, for Gallatin, now has a 25 game hitting streak. He is hitting well over .500 for the year.

Beech hammered us 13-5. Gallatin is now 2-4 in the district.
  5. This is definitely one of the classiest statements I have ever read. I could not agree with you more. Truly a great post.

Can someone please help me with this.??? Today we had a player miss a squeeze bunt, which left our baserunner hung out to dry. Our baserunner tried to stay in a rundown to advance our other runners. In doing so he ended up running into the catcher which had the ball. The umpire said he went into him with his arms up trying to dislodge the ball. The catcher was not at the the plate. He was in front of it. Our player was ejected for it. I understand it was a judgement call but the catcher ended up pushing him out of the way and hosing another base runner at 3rd. My question is how many games will our player be suspended for and does that only include varsity games. The umpire did not state maliciousness or unsportsmanlike conduct.
  9. You are correct 4th and Goal, his brother was also an outstanding player. He graduated 2 yrs ago. I think that season the older one had 10 bombs, while baby brother had 15. I did say he hit a grand slam and a 3 run bomb last night. Believe me if we could have put him on we would have.
  10. Sorry Joe, Im not Justin Pickett. I am from Gallatin. I suggest that if you dont believe what I am saying - drive to White House pay the admission and if you are not impressed with what you see, I will try to refund your money. I didnt even mention the fact that he pitches as well. He struck us out 11 times and gave up maybe 5 hits. Believe me- if you have been around the mid state area- you would know that Justin Pickett does not have to blow his own horn.
  11. Justin Pickett has been starting for White House for 4 years. In those 4 years, I think we(GALLATIN) have gotten him out 5 times. Last night, I think we finally figured out a way that might could stop him. Last night we were fortunate enough to hold him to a 2-4 performance at the plate. Hey we got him out 2 times. The other 2 times he hit 2 400 foot bombs, one a grand slam and the other a measly 3 run homer. 2 HRS 7 RBI WOW The way to contain him------ I would suggest if you are playing at White House, you should put up tree stands in the trees behind the outfield fence only in the trees from gap tp gap. When he bats let your OF'S go sit in these tree stands. Odds are, if you pitch to him, you have a better chance to catch his ball this way. In all seriousness, this guy is some kind of player. I have heard people say well he has never hurt us----- just give it time. I have been around baseball for a long time and never seen a better player. I know his past history just like many others. If you are a pro scout, I am pleading to you to give this kid a chance. He is just flat awesome, and this is coming from another team Good Luck to evryone the rest of the season.
  12. After losing a heartbreaker on Monday 7-6 to Lavergne, Gallatin bounced back TuesdaY with a 3-2 win over Wilson Central. Caleb Mcguire 5-0 pitched for the Wave against James Adkins for WC. It was another great 9-aaa game. Both teams had some two out hits, picked runners off at crucial times, and played great defense. Someone said the other day that Lavergne had the best outfield in the mid state or state. After last night, I will definitely second that. I dont know about their hitting but their LF and cf made at least 3 awesome catches that saved doubles. They tracked down everything.

    Shockers

Lebanon 3 Gallatin 3- not a shock to me. This is what makes our game so great, people. If you have a pitcher that is hitting his spots and the defense playing well behind him anything can happen in baseball. Lebanon totally outplayed us in this game. They came back to tie the score twice in the late innings. Coach Messer had his team ready to go, and the Lebanon P (Hutto) keep us off balance both at the plate and on the bases. The Blue Devil Defense also played very well. Their offense came up with some big hits and put the ball in play when they needed to. Hats off to Lebanon and their coaching staff. I felt very fortunate to leave that game with a tie. Baseball IS AWESOME. GO CHICAGO CUBS!!!!!
  14. Gallatin- Andrew Ayre, Bo Cook, Caleb Mcguire, and Carlos Coward. All start. AYRE- , Cook, Mcguire- all hitting over .400
