  1. I know this is off topic but I heard Pickett is getting some transfers in next year....Maybe from LA or York. This just does not seem likely to happen to me. Is this true????
  2. Thomas is an awesome player and she had an awesome season, but if Brandi Brown stay healthy next year I think she will be Miss Basketball next year. Just my 2 cents.......

    York?

Yes yes it was a terrible call, but you can't blame it on the refs.....the Lady Dragons gave up way too many offensive boards and turned the ball over way too many times. York only loses one player this year so watch out next year....
  4. I have seen all 3 players play and let me first say that they are all "good" high school basketball players. In my humble opinion however, there are only 2 great high school players. Latoya Bellamy is the most overrated player in the state, not only will she have trouble fitting into whatever college she decides to go, but her floor vision, passing abilites, or quickness cannot match that of Thomas and Brown. West Tennessee has to get a candidate though, and she is the best that it can offer. Brown and Thomas are simply outstanding and both will go DI easily. It's very hard to make a decision between the 2, but I think Brown has the edge. She's about 3 inches taller and just maybe, more vesitile than Thomas. Anyway, my vote goes for Brown, and it looks like she is WAY ahead in the poll, but as long as one of these 2 young ladies gets the award there will be a smile on my face.
  5. Brandi Brown scored 46 points against Smith County tonight. If I'm not mistaken she had 46 points, 12 boards, 5 blocks, 5 assists, and 4 steals. She is really making a run for Miss Basketball late in the season. She only missed 1 free throw the entire tournament and she shot a very high percentage from the floor. Did anybody notice the lady in the red vest, if I'm not mistaken that was NC State's assistant coach, but I could be totally wrong. Does anybody know????
  6. York loses only one senior, watch out.0
  7. Brandi Brown and MO Chumney (2 DI prospects) still have another year to play after this, I wouldn't be so quick to start saying Mattews will be district MVP (although she is a good player).
  8. I think she heard the "just got beat" version of that cheer...
  9. York Institute lead almost the entire game. York had very balanced scoring. Freshman Katy Bradfield lead the Dragons with 18. Co-District MVP Brandi Brown scored 12, all in the second half. Delayne Allred, Amanda Tate, and Ashli England all scored 9. Congratulations to the girls, now with all the injuries hopefully better they can play to their full potential and beat Upperman (though it will be no easy task). I guess "jill24" can now continue her cheering...
  10. Brown wasn't exactly "healthy" in that game considering she broke her foot during that game and still scored 23 I believe it was. Anyway, no use in debating anymore, Brown and Chumney got Co-MVP. Does anybody know who got all district though? I think Smith and Upperman both have several player who deserved to be all district.
  11. Oh gosh Jimbo....you are asking an old man to remember way back. Let's see, she was a sophomore when they won the state tournament back in 84, so she would have have been part of the class of 86. So she would have graduated in 90 from Flordia. If I'm not mistaken, she is still the athletic trainer for the Lady Gators.
  12. I would have no problem with Mo being Govenor. She needs to promise her faithful followers in 7AA 2 things though. 1) She will nominate Brown for Lt. Govenor and 2) Mead will head up the Department of Transportation (AKA Department of Athletic Recruiting.....we have to make sure 7AA is always the best you know.)
  13. She's not the all time best, but she would be all the all time team. Kelly Cargile from York Institute scored over 2,200 points in her career. She also won a State Tournament and played for Flordia for 4 years.
  14. Brown and Chumney Co-MVP's......almost everybody can be happy now !!!
  15. It is worth being noted that Derrick Ledbetter broke the all time scoring record the other night against Ezell-Harding. I think he now has 1,768 points in his career. I didn't see the game but there is a short right up here.... http://db.tennessean.com/hs/site/tennessea...&story_id=10467
