  1. It's a battle. This is energy and effort and excitement at it's best! Wish you were here!
  2. Flemtone and myself are in section G, row 10. Come and see us!
  3. What I want to know is......how did you get that job? I tried to find you in the 'boro tonight.....maybe i'll see you tomorrow night. LOL. I came to the game with my 'puter. Life is good.
  4. Yes. To both. They missed the open shots as well as the contested ones.
  5. Was it 20? Nope. Does it matter? Nope. Shelbyville is playing for the state championship. Go Eaglettes!
  6. 8-6 Greeneville after 1. Very poor shooting on Shelbyville's part (3-12 from inside the 3) and they are only down 2. Probably 6-8 missed shots inside the paint. Get ready for an explosive 2nd quarter! Well, it didn't take long. 11-8 Shelbyville with 6:41 left in the 2nd. Here comes the big blue train! In a VERY slow game, neither team seems to be able to get the momentum for more than one possession, but Greeneville goes into the locker room at the half with the momentum and a 20-17 lead. Shelbyville is shooting 8-33 combined 2's & 3's for the first half. Newman is 2-8, Canon is 1-5 . . . and they are only down 3. I can't wait for the 2nd half! 26-21 Greeneville with 4:42 left in the 3rd. Shelbyville hasn't come out with the intensity they need to win this game. Coach Insell just called timeout to encourage them to do so. Let's see what happens . . . 32-29 Greeneville with 1:14 left in the 3rd. The pace has quickened dramatically with lots of run-n-gun. 32-30 Greeneville at the end of 3. Greeneville and Shelbyville are battling HARD to win this game. This is an exceptionally physical and emotional battle. Shelbyville has several players in foul trouble (Almander and Snipes both have 4). Fasten your seat belts for the fourth quarter! 35-34 Shelbyville with 6:56 left in the game. Canon came out and hit a BIG three and then Greeneville stepped on the line when trying to inbounds the ball. Shelbyville's ball under their own goal after Burkey's timeout. 37-34 Shelbyville after the 4th personal on Manuel of Greeneville and then the technical on Manuel (fouled out). 41-36 Shelbyville as Snipes for Shelbyville fouls out. Momentum is definately in Shelbyville's favor as Greeneville is at the line. First is up and in. 41-37. Second is no good. 4:22 left. 41-37 Shelbyville. Play is starting to get sloppy as Shelbyville begins to take their time on the offense. 41-37 Shelbyville. Turnover after turnover for each team. 41-37 Shelbyville as Almander misses 2 free throws. Ball comes down the court and foul on Houston of Shelbyville (her 3rd). Everyone is in the double bonus now. 41-38 Shelbyville as Fuller gets fouled grabbing the defensive board and shoots 2. First is good. 42-38. Second is good. 43-38. 43-38 Shelbyville as Canon makes a BIG steal and gets fouled. Misses the first free throw and makes the 2nd. 44-38. Not going to be 20, but Shelbyville is going to the state championship game in 1:08. Shelbyville's ball as a foul is called on Greeneville. Canon up for 2 more free throws. First is good (45-38), second is no good. 45-38 Shelbyville as Newman fouls out. McNight (sp?) shooting 2 for Greeneville. First is no good. Second is good (45-39). 45-39 Shelbyville as Fuller is fouled after getting the defensive board. Fuller shooting two and makes both (47-39). It's a foul fest now. Chooo chooo. 47-39 Shelbyville as Fuller is fouled (again) after getting the defensive board (again). Congrats to Shelbyville and my hats off to Burkey and the Greeneville girls for an EXCEPTIONALLY well fought game and effort. This was a classic that will be talked about for some time. If you weren't here, you MISSED OUT. Final score: 48-39 Shelbyville. See you tomorrow!
  7. I'm sitting with the tone now and he'd like a further explanation. . . .
  8. Johnson for 2. All tied at 60. Helmsley (?) for McMinn scores a layup. Seymour drives the court and Johnson puts up two (got fouled on both) and misses. 62-60 final for McMinn.
  9. Fallon Lee at the line for 2 with 58 all and 27.2 left. First one is good. Second is good. Timeout McMinn Central.
  10. Fallon Lee is putting on a dribbling exhibition with 57.3 left. All tied up.
  11. 58-58 with 1:45 left. Johnson just scored #40. She's 17-21 from the field.
  12. Did I say clinic? Whatever word is stronger than that should be used. She's got 31 and is ROLLING over the defense. The stats say she's missed 3, but I've only seen 2. She's absolutely the most impressive AA player I've seen in this tournament. McMinn up 48-47 with Johnson at the line. No good and then the next is good. 48 all. This is a GREAT game.
  13. 30-27 Seymour at the half. Johnson is putting on a clinic. If she could hit her free throws (she's missed 6), she'd be perfect on the court. Fallon Lee for McMinn got 2 quick fouls in the first quarter (in the first 2 1/2 minutes) and hasn't really been as big of a factor as she could have been.
  14. carnage . . . slaughter . . . annihilation . . . decimation . . . destruction . . . it's coming to a boro near you!
  15. 28 points in the first quarter. You folks are missing it if you aren't here!
  16. 18 minutes left on the clock before the game starts.
  17. I'm here at Murphy Center. Where are you guys/gals?
  18. People who 'help' don't always get paid. Some do it for the love of the game.
  19. Looks like the USA TODAY thinks Shelbyville will win it out since I don't see any other TN teams ranked.
  20. Craigmont 50-42 according to the scoreboard just got off of the phone with the Commercial Appeal and they confirmed it.
  21. I just talked to the Commercial Appeal (the big Memphis paper) and they said they don't even know. Said they hope to know in about 45 minutes.
  22. I'd say there was some type of a draw, because A, AA, and AAA are all different in their configurations (different sectional winners go different places in the brackets).
  23. To be honest, I'm not really sure if the TSSAA meant to post that information so early or not, but it was up on their website on Feb. 21st. I thought it was early too.
