Good list and I agree that the teams appear to be pretty equal. I'm sure McMinn Central will forge their way onto the top ten at some point. Very impressed with Walker Valley, Temple, and Howard. Baylor shoots the ball exceptionally well, and Tyner has played well until last night's game versus Brainerd, which resembled Brainerd's game versus Austin East (except Brainerd lost to Austin East). Coach McGary (Howard)is doing an excellent job with mostly new starters.

Game was played on Saturday. Brainerd won, 65-60.

That sounds pretty impressive to me, especially for a district game where you're somewhat familiar with your opponent. I saw ER play a scrimmage and they looked pretty athletic. Had some TO issues, but i wouldn't have seen this one comin.

That's correct. What's the deal with the big boy from AE? Why didn't he play in the 1st half? When he came in, he scored 6 pts in a min. & a half. Could have had another 4, but missed a dunk and got hung another alley-oop that he probably should have just laid in.

I think the 6'8 kid that you're referring to came from Ringgold.

What's going on in district 5AA? Hadn't read a lot of info. about those teams?

Yeah, Dad played at Tennessee. Got a chance to talk with Dad a couple of years ago when Whitney played in this event. Nice, supportive family. Add Dalton's Liz Coffey!

If I had to guess, I would say Red Bank or Tyner because the family has ties to both schools and both schools have good football programs, at which he also excelled (QB). Also, both (basketball) Coach Cherne (RB) and Coach Harris (Tyner) have shown that they're willing to play quality Freshmen, as did Football Coach Turner at Tyner. This kid is a leader and is actually more vocal in his leadership than any of his older siblings, although his skill level hadn't caught up just yet.

Comes from an athletic family. Sister plays at Chatt. State (once score 40+0 in high school), cousin that started games in football and basketball @ Tyner as a freshman this past year and cousin starred at 21st Century. Lil Brother is also going to be special. All good kids!

Coach you might want to attend the 6th Annual Pre-Game Roundball Classic on March 21st at Tyner Academy in Chattanooga, TN. There will be some quality unsigned seniors participating.

It does sound like a good matchup. Howard sorta reminds you of the Science Hill teams of the late 80's & early 90's. Good ball handlers at each position, each one can lead the break, lot of athleticism, and good pressure. Everybody contributes, which is a tribute to Coach McGary and his coaching staff.

I think the event you're referring to is the Pre-Game Roundball Classic. I volunteer with Pre-Game and will keep the Coach T nation updated with the rosters as they are solidified.
