I KNOW West TN football more than you think. There is no jealously! What am I suppose to be jealous of . . . arrogant fans? Right! I am not taking anything away from Milan. Milan has a top notch program! You forget that even Milan was a young program once. Milan has the small town West TN program than every other small town strives for (outside of a few psychotic fans). We all want the best for our teams. SGC has accomplished much in its short life. We will just have to agree to disagree. Good luck Milan in the playoffs! I cetainly hope you represent West TN well.

As you by now know records go out the book when playoff tie hits. Its all about matchups. Remember there have been several 3 and 4 loss teams to win state. East Hickman matched up well with SGC. The fact that Carlos boke his ankle at the begining of the 3rd quarter did not help. I do not want anyone to take anything away from the tremendous season this 2nd year program has had. Apparently Milan fans forget that they have not ALWAYS been good at football.

If Powell and Coleman aren't the best at their position and someone else is just as good, then why are they playing every down on offense and why is Coleman playing every down period. I will be the first to admit that SGC has a lot of growing up to do, as they should because they are only a 2 year old program. I simply stated the facts. Milan fans were the first to talk trash after SGC beat them. Instead of support a their district or hope the individuals do well that beat them, they support themselves only. I have lived in Gibson County all of my life! One thing always remains the same. . . . The arrogance of Milan! South Gibson is a second year program! They defeated the so called King of west tn football in their second year. Milan does have tradition and a excellent football program, but they have no humility. A true champion shows humility and does not kick an opponent when they are down. The fact is that SGC played an opponent that had an excellent game plan. Before Carlos got hurt, SGC was not overpowering EH, They still scored after he got hurt so to say that SGC is not a good team with out Carlos is a fallacy. Are they a better team with him, yes! EH was huge and played as good as they could. SGC had a great season for a second year program. 2 years of existence, 2 years in the playoffs. Milan good luck in the up coming weeks! Ya'll have an excellent program, but you already know that. I hope that you yearn for the rematch that you should . . . CAK!!

Milan already has their tradition! SGC is building theirs! Who would have ever thought that SGC would beat Milan in only their 2nd year of varsity play? I am not predicting SGC to win the the 2nd game if their is one. I am extremely proud of those boys for playing their hearts out and winning last night. A little fuel for your fire, I talked to a Covington teacher today and they made the comment, "If SGC beat Milan, then Covington will beat them by at least 3 TDs!"

Why can't you admit that Milan just got beat? Nobody has said that SGC dominated Milan, but they did BEAT Milan. Both teams made mistakes and both teams played hard! There is only one way to solve the problem!! Go to tssaa.org and request the forms for an umpire, fill them out and become one yourself. If you want to complain, then sign up and do something about it! Most associations do not have the enough umpires. If you want to weed the bad ones out, then more people need to sign up. Then the assigning official has plenty of choices for each game. Oh thats right, the funny thing is that this won't happen, but if you think you can do better then pay the fee and get some gear. I am a former head coach now umpiring and I have a whole new respect for umpires. Do I try to be consistent everyday I umpire? Yes, but I do have off days. It is also really hard for an umpire to be consistent when the pitcher is not consistent. As for the strike zone, each umpire's is different. We all see the ball a little different. I know there are some bad umpires out there, but if you not willing to step in and help, well we won't go there. It takes a really person to make a difference in every situation, but it only takes an idiot to run his mouth about a situation.

Coffee pitched yesterday. Clinard pitched against CA the day before. Both of those are out of the question. Pitt pitched Monday! I guess that leaves Hooper to start unless they use an Sophmore or Freshman. But you never know! It could be interesting. I'd say that NCS will throw McDowell 1st game to try and end it since they have had plenty of rest.

Apparently you got your facts wrong! I didn't take the job after that comment! I don't even work there! I left after that comment was made. I don't play politics! I am not going to please parents beause that is impossible, and I refused to keep kids on my team because of who they were and not beause of how good they were! Know what your talking about before spout off things! District 10 has many good coaches and many good players, but everyone gets cocky and you can't say that Jo Byrns didn't think it was going t be a walk in the park. Heritage was a toss up, but I definitely think that the overall better team didn't win the Jo Byrns game. Maybe the better team that day! But not the overall better team. I think Coach Nolen at McEwen is a great coach and gets more out of his kids than anyone else could. After their appearence in Districts, he would get my vote for coach of the year! Its so easy to talk smack about other player and their team when your sitting at home as a spectator! To everyone on here. Don't be classless when you team is out and especially don't be classless when you are still playing. Humility goes a long way. The teams that are the most humble are the teams that don't get surprised and come out and play ball. It sounds to me like the only humble teams left in this district are NCS and McEwen. Its funny how you never hear the 2 most dominate players in the District say a word. I respect that more than anything else. They bring it and don't have to talk about it! that all well and good, but most players don't have that opportunity. And there is no reason to be cocky to the other players. I have more respect for a player that plays the game hard, dominates, and the only thing he says to the other team is good job! I coached against GP and they were an excellent team and had a good coach, but they were not the most respectable team when it came to sportsmanship! Most schools don't have the fortunate possibility of have students come to their school just to play baseball. GP has that fortunate possibility because of their success. Its a totally different league of talent when you play with what you got then when you are always playing with the best! Good luck to all District 10 teams!

Someone is a little cocky. If your so good where are you coaching now and where did you coach then? Nobody needs anything flashed in their face especially a school where the principal told the coach that He only had 2 guidelines for the coach. 1) I expect you to please the parents 2) I expect those boys to have fun, I don't care if you don't win a game as long as they have fun. Those are some important rules coming from the administration!
