  1. It's really hard to say who is going to win this one. With Temple having a tough loss against Sequatchie last week -- I would say that they learned some lessons and will bounce back with a better effort against LV. I'm not sure how LV will respond after their loss to Huntland -- but I'm sure they will be ready to play also. It ought to be a pretty good game, so I look forward to being at Red Bank Middle School on Friday night to watch this one. Good luck to both teams.
  2. Look -- No one from Temple ever said that they would win state. Yes, Sequatchie is good and deserves to be congratulated on their win, but Temple is better than what people think. Temple was in the game until the second half of the game. The main problem is - they just don't have enough players. Most of their team has to play both ways and so they just wore down in the end. No -- I'm not trying to make excuses for the loss, I'm just trying to state that Temple is a good team and has some very good players and is capable of winning the rest of their regular season games. And as far as the Quarterback -- yes, he did have some interceptions -- but when you throw the ball as much as he does -- you're going to have some int. Smithson will bounce back and finish out the season with big numbers. He is much better than what he played on Friday night. Will they get out of the 1st round of playoffs? Who knows -- that is a long ways off and Temple doesn't have to worry anything about that. All they need to do from here on out is take one game at a time and do what they know they are capable of doing. Listen to your coaches, work together, stay focused, and play hard.
  3. No one is saying Temple is going to win the state, but I believe they will be a team to reckon with as long as they stay healthy throughout the season. One of their main problems is not having enough players to sub in and out. They should have no problem putting points on the board, but their defense is the main concern. Will they win state? I guess no one really knows the answer to that question at this point. Can they win? All things are possible . . . And by the way, have you ever thought that maybe the same person voted for Temple to be #1 on the fan poll? I think it could be a good possibility.
  4. What are you talking about? 0-10? You obviously have no clue what kind of a team Temple has to say something so asinine. And what makes you think the Temple players are arrogant? Are they the ones on here shooting off their mouths about how good they are? I would dare say that many of the people that are on here talking about Temple are fans and not players (one -- being me). Your comments are fatuous (inanely foolish -- for those who may not know that word) and you would do well to keep them to yourself. But I guess this is CoachT and everyone is entitled to their own opinions, so go ahead and prattle on.
  5. Oh -- by the way Mike (mnewballer), we can take the criticism. You all can say whatever you want --- but there are good ways and bad ways to do that. Yes, we all know that Temple didn't play well on Wednesday -- but those of us who have watched them play all year knows they should have won the title this year. But we're not going to make any excuses. We're just going to move forward from here and look to next season. Again, congrats to the teams that advance in the tourney.
  6. Those of you who are taking shots at Temple have no class at all. Yes, Temple lost -- but you have to give them props for having a great season. It sounds like many of you are just envious of the fact that Temple has been to state the last 4 years and has 2 state championship titles -- along with one Mr. Basketball award (maybe 2 come Saturday). Congratulations to Middleton for your win over Temple and good luck in your run for the G-Ball. Congrats to theTemple players for a great year (with 34 wins and only 2 losses). Too bad there's not too many teams out there that can boast of a record like that. Keep your heads up high and come back next season for another run. Peace -- Out!!
  7. I've got to hand it to you G-man, you got 3 out of 4 on this one, but I'm not sure about your choice for the goldball. Temple is my choice.
  8. Good call, Hawk. I guess we'll have to see about the banner thing.
  9. Yeah man -- they have what it takes to win it all. They only lost one game all season and that was against a D2 school. As long as Caleb Skogen is recovered from his hamstring injury -- they ought to have a good chance to win it all. Hope you all win the next three games.
  10. Temple will do just fine against SP next year.
  11. rankings don't mean anything -- i mean who have they beat that is any good this year? sale creek? Whitwell? Copper Basin? South P.? Creative Arts? A Tyner team that is horrible? they beat Grace by 2 a couple of weeks ago I'll give you guys credit tonight -- you gave a mediocre team a good whoopin tonight, but tomorrow night will be a different story.
  12. CCS is not a good team at all. So for Grace to beat them the way that they did is no big deal. Sure CCS gets lucky now and then and plays a good game but really -- they're just plain horrible when it comes to b-ball this year.
  13. you all quit whining about the score of the game. it was just fine that Temple put up 111 against SP.
  14. I can assure you that Grace will not beat Temple tomorrow night. Temple is just too good and is not about to let Grace beat them. Temple 86 Grace 72
  15. It does make a difference who you were playing whether you like it or not. This would be like Caleb Skogen putting up 50 against David Brainerd.
  16. Man -- it's getting kinda deep in here. Like always Temple is getting no respect from the bigger schools in the area. Yes, I'm talking about you Ooltewah fans. Temple is not concerned about playing the Owls next week. For one -- it's not a district game. Two -- yes, they want to win -- but if they don't it won't be the end of the world. Three -- they scheduled a team like Ooltewah (hoping they might be good competition) this late in the season to prepare them for the tournaments and state. Four -- I'd say it ought to be a pretty good game. Five -- from the comments on here about Temple's players -- many of you don't have a clue. Six -- I'm going to say that Temple will probably win the game. I'd say more -- but I'm going to bed.
  17. And your point is? It's all a matter of opinion of who has played the "tougher schedule". What really matters is who is the better team -- and it is evident which one that is, am i right? So, there is no use in beating this subject into the ground. The record speaks for itself.
  18. Oh yeah -- a real Jerry Seinfeld.
  19. What's wrong -- you don't believe the stories about JB? This Temple phenom is a quick and exciting transition athlete with great hangtime. He's good at attacking the rim and rising above everyone. He takes the ball to the rack hard and dares defenders to try to stop him. Usually, they get embarrassed if they try. His patented screams, pumping fists and looks of rage scare most defenders into simply getting out of the way right before he brings the thunder. He has excellent hang-time and a great smoothness to his glides to the rim. His dunks and hang time remind us oldtime ballers of Dr. J on the next level. Whether that next level is college or the NBA -- that remains to be seen.
  20. Anyone know what the CHOKE thing was with Coach Wadley. What was with that? I thought he was going to strangle himself or something. If anyone knows -- let us know.
