  1. no one's crying here -- it was just a derisory comment, that's all /dry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="
  2. yeah -- you're right, the Chattanooga teams have no chance
  3. You obviously don't know a whole lot about this Temple team or Skogen. I wonder how many teams would love to have only 3 losses at this point in the season and be in the second round of the state tourney? And I wonder how Seth is up for the Mr. Basketball for the second year in a row? It sounds like to me you are the "wannabe". /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />
  4. You're right, but the question would be -- is that normal for East Lit? I know it's not the norm for Temple. And yes, Temple does have to play better than they did on Wednesday night to advance to the final.
  5. What do they bring to the table? Well, let's see . . . I know that there are many people who don't think that Temple has a chance against the mighty west teams but you don't have a 32-3 record for nothing. In Temple, you have a team that is quick on defense and can handle the ball very well. They really don't have that much size, because the tallest person on the team is only about 6'4. They have one of the best players in the state in Seth Skogen (Mr. Basketball candidate). They have some pretty good shooters at all positions. They pass the ball well and work together as a team. They are fairly patient on offense and work for the open shot. Are they the best team in the state? That is yet to be proven when they play Humboldt on Friday. Can they beat Humboldt? Yes, if they play the way they are capable of playing. Will they win? I believe the answer is yes.
  6. Let's get back to the game. Temple ought to be able to defeat East Literature but they can't take them for granted. If Temple comes out and plays their A-game they will win by more than 10.
  7. Well, I've given you all a chance to respond to this thread and so I'm going to tell you who I think is the top linebacker in 1A: Josh Smith out of Temple. He's averaging over 142 tackles on the year and is one of the hardest hitting LB's in the state. The Chattanooga papers have called him everything from a beast to a bull and a monster. He's a real playmaker. He runs all over the place, he runs to the ball. He's got some size, some production, and he plays quicker than he registers on the clock. He weighs 240 pounds, but is only 6 feet 2. As with every aspect of his game, the keys here are Smith's consistency and continuing progress. He appears to have a great understanding of the game and shows a lot of aggression and passion for what he is doing. I would put him up against anyone in the state.
  8. Congratulations Temple on your win over Copper Basin! Temple Crusaders Team Picture before the game at Finley Stadium
  9. It would be great if the game was at Finley because I hear from some of the Lookout Valley players that Grace's field is horrible. Is that true?
  10. Who are some of the top linebackers in 1A? Post stats -- if you have them.
