  1. Do you need jersey numbers and names only? Or do you need heights too?
  2. Nothing would be better than Rd. 5 of GC/WV. I'm just not set on McMinn Central. If they lost practically their whole starting 5 from last year, I'm just not sure they can knock off a state semi-final experienced team of Westview in the semi's. I've said it from the get-go. There WILL be 5 rounds of Gibson Co. v. Westview this year! Central went nine or ten deep last year. Coach used several different starting lineups.
  3. After playing their worst game of the year against Polk County in the region 3 tourney final on Wednesday, the Chargerettes rebounded nicely by winning at Cannon County 62-54. They outscored the homestanding Lionettes 23-10 in the fourth quarter. Congratulations, ladies! I am proud of the heart displayed on the court tonight! Back to the 'boro!
  4. Yep. Congratulations. Those girls really improved from the poor showing against Marshall County last year. They laid waste to their schedule this year. WOW!
  5. Kylie Lambert played in this game too. The score was in the 90's, and she said that the West won by 2.
  6. I've told them similar things, thug dadi. They've had a great run, and they've done it with dignity and character. I've seen the hard work and dedication they've had, and I can't help but believe that it will carry them as far as they want to go in life. Good luck, ladies, in your future endeavors on the court, in the classroom, and in life.
  7. You are right. It was 3 out of 4, not 3 in a row. I think it's 9 out of 13 also. It's just too bad we haven't gotten more than two silver balls, but one day we'll break through.
  8. I see. I'm leaving in about 20 minutes to pick the kids up from school, and then I'm on my way. Go Chargerettes!
  9. Hey, Rocking Chair, I hope you have a safe trip over. I've had fun jousting with you. I'm looking forward to a terrific contest.
  10. Scared? Gouging again? We're hungry, but not scared. /hungry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":hungry:" border="0" alt="hungry.gif" /> Don't confuse respect for your opponent with fear of your opponent.
  11. I'm trying to figure out who you are. I'll probably see you all together at the game, and then I'll know. Have a safe trip.
  12. No implications here. I'm just trying to keep it real. Win pretty, win ugly. I don't care. Just win, baby when it comes to state. There are no style points.
  13. Not any more confident than you all. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" /> Every fanbase has to feel good about their team's chances. If you make it this far, you are good. Period. Gibson's fans seem pretty confident too. It would be great if two undefeated teams face off Saturday.
  14. I think I know who OldSchoolCharger is. I'm pretty sure I worked with his niece in the weightroom a few times over the last two years. I've never ridden in a car with him, so I can't give you an answer.
  15. It has indeed come down to this one game, and a single game depends on matchups. The team that takes advantage of mismatches more effectively will win. Both are well coached. Both have good players. Both are worthy of being on the Murphy Center floor. I wouldn't overlook the Chargerettes. I know they're not from the basketball hotbed, but they play some pretty good ball. It should be a very good game. As far as all of this talk about double digit victories by either fanbase, I'll take a one point win every time at the 'boro. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  16. I might be just a little too close to the situation. /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> Have a safe trip, 92. We are planning to leave at around noon eastern time. I hope to take in the Westview-Elizabethton game too.
  17. I think this Central team wants it pretty bad. I've witnessed firsthand a lot of blood, sweat, and tears the last 24 months. Whatever happens, I am proud of this bunch of Chargerettes. They work hard, play hard, and pray hard. They're a great bunch of girls that are battle tested. The "strength of schedule" does not take into consideration our big win over Georgia state semifinalist Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe (who only scored 11 points in the first half.) They held Polk to 10 second half points in their region final matchup. There is no question that both teams will bring it. I happen to like what Central is bringing. Go Chargerettes. One game at a time.
  18. That is supersecret classified information. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  19. I just found it. Upperman was up 46-45 in the third quarter when the technical was assessed.
  20. Upperman had a four point lead with four minutes to go. The technical ocurred earlier than that. I'm not sure what the score was, but I think Upperman had a four point lead. The girl threw the ball when the foul was called, and it hit a Central player. She was also a little too demonstrative in her disdain, and was mouthing off a bit when she got the T.
  21. GCP said it would be a great game. He didn't degrade Livingston in his post. In fact, I'm pretty sure the poster is a Gibson County fan, and not a McMinn Central fan.
  22. Both teams have experience. Both teams have recently defeated Upperman in close contests that were decided late in the game. Both teams have more than one scorer. This will be a great ballgame. Central fans must not be fooled by the won-loss record of Livingston. They have played a terrific schedule, and they are in probably the strongest region in AA. I expect a tough ballgame.
  23. The schools are about ten miles apart, but a student can transport himself to either school. For the most part, buses run in the Englewood and Etowah areas for McMinn Central and the rest of the county (Athens, Niota, Riceville, and Calhoun areas) for McMinn County. Actually, the official name of McMinn Central is Central High School of McMinn County. To tell you a little about the rivalry, it's been over 20 years since I graduated from McMinn Central. It's still sweet to defeat them on the court or playing field.
  24. /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> We need to write the Hogeye thing down this time. Seems like we've asked this three out of the last four years. This will be a very well attended matchup. Both schools travel very well.
  25. There is a long history for these two programs matching up. Livingston has come out on top most of those times. Hopefully, this is the year we send THEM home from the 'boro. I was joking with King last night that we'd probably face each other in the first round. How deep is Livingston?
