Your fans were very loud to be so few in number. That was just a tremendous atmosphere. District 7AA travels very well. We've hosted Livingston twice, York, and Upperman in the last four seasons. Each of these programs have great support. I know you spoke to several of the Chargerette fans that were at Memories (most of us were either coaches or parents of players). My family was seated at the table of four beside you all. My son is the one who said your logo looked like Georgia Tech's logo.

They went as freshmen and lost to eventual champ Hillcrest. They lost at home to Livingston in the sectional when they were sophomores. They went last year and lost to eventual champ Marshall Co by 2 in the semis after being outshot at the free throw line 21 to 3. When it gets to this point, it depends on the draw and the matchups. I know how hard this group has worked. I know how hungry they are. They've just got to maintain focus throughout the next week. On a side note, my son just found a 4-leaf clover. Maybe good things are to come for the Chargerettes.

The Eastern region of Tennessee is sending some tough teams to the 'boro this year. I like our chances, but you never know when it gets to the final 8.

I met the Davis family at Memories before the game. They were a great bunch and very supportive of Lashay and the rest of the players. I hope they enjoyed their brief visit to the Etowah/Englewood area.

It was a good game. McMinn Central isn't exactly chopped liver. We lost to Marshall County in the semis last year by 2 points in a game in which Marshall County shot 21 free throws to our 3. We returned everyone from that team and added a 6'2" post that can run the floor. Depth was the difference in the end.

Did you let Joe lead? He gets upset if you don't let him lead. I'm too attached to these kids. Working with them the last two seasons has caused me to almost think of them as my own children. It was such a relief to pull that one out.

OOPS! Man, did you see me and Nakita's dad dancing in the aisles after Jenna hit the sixth free throw? It had to be a funny sight.

Mostly talking to my guy. What's your team like this year? We are very similar to the team you guys beat two years ago in the sectional. We have two posts who are playing a lot now that weren't then. One is a junior and the other is a 6'2" sophomore. One other junior guard gets some minutes. Other than that , our lineup is very similar to the one two years ago. Oh yeah, we had a sophomore from that team quit before this season started. Is Kilgore the one you were calling Killer? She hit a couple of big shots down here two years ago. Guys, let's not do this. We are both proud of our teams. We've played in some tough, intense games through the last few years because McMinn Central and Livingston are almost always in contention through at least the sectionals/substate. thug dadi and Big Daddy have even become buddies in the last couple of years.

I probably have you confused with another fan that I jousted with back then. There are a lot of missed calls both ways in every game. There was a bogus charging call on our senior point guard late in that game too. See how it works? LOL You know we'll probably draw each other in the first round. What do you know about Gibson? I saw them get completely shelled last year at the 'boro by Marshall County. This year, Gibson is just annihilating everybody.

King is referring to a game from 2006 between Livingston and McMinn Central. It was a barnburner much like tonights. Did you get to come to the game tonight, Indian?

Prognosis is good for Gabby. I'll let her dad reveal the details if he so desires. I don't want to violate any privacy laws. As of right now, the outlook is good, and that's all I can say. That is one of the best high school games I've seen. Another good one was the sectional in 2006 against Livingston. It was a one or two possesion game until the final seconds.

They've worked really hard in the weightroom, in conditioning, and in practice. Games are easier than the workouts or practices in most cases. That was a clutch win tonight. Upperman gave them all they had. Huge to score the game's final 8 points including those six clutch free throws by Adams. She admitted to me after the game that she's probably never hit six straight free throws in her life. That might be in the Chattanooga paper tomorrow because their reporter was standing right there when she told me that. LOL

I don't think they are cocky. Confident? yes. Cocky? no I'll leave it at that. I've seen firsthand how hard they've worked the last two seasons. They are hungry and focused. Upperman provides a huge challenge, and I hope that the girls will overcome that challenge.

Seems like most people think we have no chance. We thought we'd have to play Upperman at some point. It might as well be at our place on our floor.

We've both got our hands full. But to be the best you've got to beat the best. Depth is what got you all tonight. I think that is the reason we started owning the boards on both ends in the second half. Good luck!

Thanks for your concern about how I spend my time. I'm off work on Wednesdays, so I have a little free time. In fact I just left a meeting with Coach Morgan. As far as the offseason program is concerned, I've got it done. I've also got a TSSAA mandated three week dead period after the season ends to tweak it to our time restraints before workouts can begin. I've yet to say anything arrogant or cocky in this thread, and I'm not a bit worried about what's posted on a message board as long as it's factually correct. Nowhere did I contend any of your other assertions. I merely addressed your statements about being very close to the program and saying there is no strength program when there's been one for almost two years. Nowhere did I call you names. I merely corrected an inaccuracy in your post. Whether or not I consider myself a coach doesn't matter. The girls, their parents, Coach Morgan, and Coach Young do. That's enough for me. The program is just taking it one game at a time. We're only talking and thinking about Polk. The fans might be looking ahead a bit, but that's their prerogative. That's what fans do. Fan is short for fanatic after all, right?

I was only basing that off of the hints that badgirl was giving. I have no clue who it is. raider2 just isn't as "in the know" about things as he/she thinks.
